A2A with James Turk

255

Just a fabulous Q&A with Mr. Turk today where we discussed everything from global gold demand, to the use of EFPs on the Comex to cryptocurrencies. You should be sure to give it a listen.

Among the topics addressed over the course of this webinar:

  • Current global demand trends in both gold and silver
  • The recent surge in the use of EFPs for short-covering on Comex. (https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/equity-index/exchange-for-physical-efp-...)
  • How much gold is held in private hands around the world
  • James' view of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies
  • James' position on the mining shares
  • A discussion of the relative valuation of silver versus gold
  • And a whole lot more!

Again, please be sure to give this incredibly informative podcast a listen. You will no doubt find that it is time well spent.

Please be sure to read this. Don't get bogged down trying to understand what a eurodollar us. Instead, thoroughly consider what the eurodollar chart may be saying about the direction of the 10-yr rate. Then consider what a steeply falling 10-yr rate should do for CDG.

long term pennant in gold about to resolve???

Anyone else watching the long term pennant containing the long term 2011 downtrend (daily) with the more recent uptrend drawn from the rising bottoms drawn from the late 2015 and 2016 lows??

if gold breaks significantly above $1,265 in the next few weeks it'll be out of this long term pennant and would surely signify a significant long term trend change.

this would likely coincide with a breakdown in the dollar following its inability to extend higher having broken through long term resistance levels from the past several years.

This would be a major development in the gold market!!

True Story

This got buried at end of last post so in Mr. Rickles honor here goes

When I first moved to California from Jersey in the early 80's.My uncle owned a water softener company based out of Beverly Hills. He had me knocking on doors all over Beverly Hills, unbeknownst to me it was against the law. Needless to say I had my fair share of doors slammed in my face. Everyday my Uncle would give me the old today is the day rah-rah speech.

Well just so happened that, that today was truly the day.It was the straw that broke the Camels Back. I was in a nice but overly opulent neighborhood, when I knock on the door and who answers but Don Rickles in his bathrobe. He seemed to be nursing a pretty bad hangover. He cursed me out and called me every name in the book, the one that stood out was "You Hockey Puck". I will never forget that ,as I never heard that term before outside of a rink. After reaming me out he suggested I go over to Bob his neighbor across the street as he was sure he would buy one.

I ran over excitedly & rang the bell, who answers the door but one Bob Newhart with Mr. Rickles looking on with glee. He was not nearly as ruthless. That was my last day as a door to door salesman in Beverly Hills. Every time Don Rickles called someone a Hockey Puck in his routine I always relished the memory of Mr. Rickles on the porch in his bathrobe and laying into me. "Mr.Warmth" RIP
