Finally completed my 2010 set. The sellers sure are proud of the Hot Springs coin. I found one on ebay down the list that was a "buy it now" coin at 325.00. I jumped and it is on it's way home. I also purchased the 2010 proof silver quarters set just to compliment the "pucks". I also ordered two sets of 2011 proof silver quarter sets from the mint. one for the same reason as above and the other to sell when the price climbs after the mint runs out.
Next week begins the newest adventure buying the 2011's from the mint.
Had a little windfall and also ordered two 5oz bars from APMEX. If the spot price goes down more, I might have to get a larger safe...":)
I sold my 5-2010 P's to Apmex for $1500 yesterday.
No more collectors pucks from the mint for me (greedy bastards). They can take their $285 pucks and shove it up Timmah's ass! Im sure there is plenty of room.
I'll be buying the bullion versions though. $200 is more like it :)
I have a few of these, which I bought with my last bullion purchase. They are interesting to look at, but very inconvenient to store. I'd rather just have 5oz bars. Even eagles are more convenient in a tube. I keep one of the pucks in my desk for the kids to play with though, so there's always that.
lol kids love em
you can also use them as coasters :)
Apmex just raised the premium on the Olympic ATB. They had been running a special at $1.99/oz over spot. They upped it a bit. I'm seeing $2.49/oz over spot now.
way to go before the selloff today!
I picked up a Chickasaw for around $200 today!
Picked up 4 tonight.
Chickasaw National Recreation Area 179
Glacier National Park 176
Olympic National Park 174
Gettysburgh PA 174
There are some good prices out there right now.
Before the Gettysburg-P went on sale two weeks ago, the mint placed it and the Mt Hood on the "This product is temporarily unavailable for product repricing." list.
not gonna sell many that way hehe
.....to dump a few 2010 Un-P's and increase me oz's of regular fine-.999
apmex gave me 1500 for the 5 p-2010's
I have 1 hot springs P that i will keep.
In other puck news, the mint re priced the P's at $229.00. Still some Mt Hoods left too. no limit.
so far the 2010's are holding up price wise in this downturn. we shall see...
the ATB 5oz.'ers are neat coins and i think the low mintage will be a factor some day
Anyone keeping an eye out on the Chickasaw and Vicksburg mintages?
The mint did not show these coins in their final report. Although, there are some with low sales so far.
You can go to https://news.coinupdate.com to see the latest report.
any word on the 2012's?
I see this picture but no release date.
hell, you cant even buy the 2011-P's due to re pricing, which apparently means that it will take 4-6 weeks in mint time.
[sarc]good way to sell stuff![/sarc
Yeah, I scoured the internet with not a trace of information on the 5 oz El Yunque piece. The only relevent article I found was for some concept art for the remaining 2012 designs. (Some of which looked quite nice)
The cynical side of me thinks that the mint has observed the low interest in the series thus far, and thus, has cold feet about producing 40 more of the blasted things over the coming 8(?) years. But since they're already bound to do them, they're going to keep the mintages small and delay them as long as possible to give buyers time to soak up inventory.
Mind you, this is my own private speculation, and not supported by any evidence.
El Yunque 5 oz on sale now for June 1 delivery
