Thursday Conversation - Rick Rule

62

As the bull market for precious metals continues, many are frustrated by the underperformance of the mining sector thus far in 2020. To that end, here's legendary resource investor Rick Rule to help shed some light on this topic.

Many of you are familiar with Rick and his team at Sprott Asset Management. If you are looking for guidance and assistance in your resource investing, they are certainly top-shelf. So it was great fun to get caught up with Rick and ask him to address these three, primary points:

  • Where are we in this renewed bull market for precious metal?
  • Which size/type of mining company is currently in favor?
  • What will it take to draw institutional money to the sector?

Additionally, at the end of the podcast, Rick offers an email address where any listener can send him a list of resource stocks and he will reply with his current thoughts on each. He'll also send you two important charts so, if you're interested, be sure to contact him at rankings at sprottglobal dot com.

Thanks again to Rick for so generously sharing his time and expertise in this podcast. I'm confident that you will benefit greatly by listening.

I'm afraid for Monday.... my Trust is selling stocks.... I just don't think this coronavirus is priced into the market.

No shit.

edit: Kudlow "moments away"...... 10:03 EST.

more Kudlow: lots of Pharma is mfg in Wuhan. We're going to be running out of pharmas in the near term.

Anybody have a good short for the big pharma stocks?

Kudlow should come on TV with a skirt and pompoms... Go TEAM!! Rah Rah... citing Atlanta Fed 2.X% growth in 1Q.... LOL

Jeez... this is the longest Kudlow has gone without snorting a big rail in years.... going on now for 20 minutes. All pump. Sounds like he's going to cry.

Osisko

Here's another one, down 2+% this morning. And their short interest is not that massive. What gives?

Drilling carried out in 2019 at Windfall increased the indicated mineral resource estimate by 60% (added 452,000 ounces) and increased the inferred mineral resource estimate by 66% (added 1,572,000 ounces). The Windfall project now hosts indicated mineral resources of 1.21 Moz (4.1 Mt @ 9.1 g/t) and inferred mineral resources of 3.94 Moz (14.5 Mt @ 8.4 g/t), entirely above 1,200 metres vertical depth. Located in Québec, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, this mineral resource estimate moves Windfall to world-class status in terms of scale and grade.

Gold awesome this morning...

Keeping in the back of my mind that there is NO RULE OF LAW in this country right now. No one goes to jail for anything. Fully endorsed by the POTUS. Lawlessness rules the day. This battle is far from over. Would not be remotely surprised if we get smashed down from here since silver is at its inflection point once again. Mnuchin and Wilbur Ross will do ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING to keep their paper game in tact.

Mavens: Stop using IE

just my opinion... since no one else has chimined in...

I haven't used IE in years. Since you seem to be monitoring cryptos, why aren't you using the Brave browser? It doesn't track you like Chrome (Google) and it blocks ads by default (set it upon installation). It loads faster too because it doesn't transfer tracking info like other browsers. Saves on data if used on a phone, too. It is privacy focussed.

https://brave.com/

Then use a good search engine like startpage.com to keep Google away from tracking your searches.

by the way, I'm not affiliated with the browser in any way
