Thursday Conversation - Mickey Fulp

The Mercenary Geologist
34

Mickey Fulp, "The Mercenary Geologist", returns today for a fun-filled discussion of the metals, the miners and the information someone must correctly analyze when building a diversified portfolio of mining shares.

Again, you can find more information about Mickey and his terrific service by visiting his website: www.goldgeologist.com. Once there, be sure to sign up for the FREE weekly email newsletter. If we're correct in expecting higher precious metal prices in 2020, gaining as much information as possible regarding the mining shares is paramount to success.

For this call, Mickey and I primarily focus upon three main topics:

  • Mickey's macro forecast for 2020
  • What key information investors must analyze for senior producers, junior producers and the exploration companies
  • Three key names he's following closely in 2020

Thanks again to Mickey for his time today. Please be sure to give this podcast a thorough listen.

Apple

look at revenue and earnings growth--just not there.

Apple doing about 7% buybacks a year so 7% of the price growth a year is due to buybacks. Numbers game. Problem is there are fewer shareholders.

7% on a 1.2 trillion market cap is a lot

Question is, what has the market cap grown by over the same period of time,.

it all means the PE or PEG ratio is in nosebleed territory, people are holding a stock with little real growth with a hi PE--thats called risk.

There are a lot of stocks like this.

except the ones that do not have earings , whats their PE

They cannot afford a robot waitress!

This new minimum wage hike, in Washington State, is doing major damage. The locals have cut hours, closing at 2 p.m.. New menu and raise the prices. They have brought back the owners spouses to work for free. The workers hours and shifts are cut and the building has been for sale for a couple of years, no takers. I expect that they will close the doors in time. Why work for free? There are many times that the owners will save money by just shutting the cafe down and look for a job in the big city. Jim

P.S.: Morning prayer:

Thank You Lord that I do not need a job in the big city. I would only qualify for a greeter at Walmart. When they see that I have been on SS for over 10 years and not as fast as I was 50 years ago, I would be stuck in a tent on the streets of Olympia.

Investing Philosophy

Why is it I would rather purchase high risk Junior Miners than Dow stocks in a parabolic move? Thought for the day.

Apple

This morning on CNBS, they put up a several year chart of Apple price growth. I nearly spit out my coffee. The chart was one of those 45 degree marches up that TF always talks about being an algo march rather than a free market chart.

The Plan

Quite clear effort to work prices back to $1550 and $18. Very obvious. Very disgusting.

Novo

“Novo is at a seminal junction,” commented Dr. Quinton Hennigh, Chairman and President of Novo. “We are rapidly advancing our gold projects in the Pilbara and aim to move the Company toward becoming a new gold producer. Our team is one of the best in Australia. These options vest once Novo reaches certain production milestones, goals our team feels confident they can meet. We look forward to an exciting, very busy year.”
