Thursday Conversation - Holiday Jackass

61

It's not a full holiday weekend as the US markets will be open on Friday. Regardless, it's tradition around here to check in with Jim Willie for a mid-summer update so here you go.

As usual, we mainly tried to discuss three, major themes...though, as usual, the conversation often veered off to cover other areas, as well. For this podcast, those themes are:

  1. The recent news of the EU's INSTEX system and how this is the next stage in the decline of the petrodollar. What is INSTEX? See here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/francescoppola/2019/06/30/europe-circumvent...
  2. The global bond market. Will the entire world eventually move to zero or negative rates or will the "bond market bubble" finally burst?
  3. With gold finally breaking out of a six-year trading range, what should we expect next? And what about silver?

As always, major thanks to The Jackass for his willingness to share his valuable time. After all we've been through...and with where we are currently...there has never been a more important time to consider a subscription to The Hat Trick Letter. You can find out more information here:

Have a great day!

Thanks Craig.

I'm not a complainer by nature. But not having access to a new thread (no matter what I do) when I have confirmation one exists is asking too much in the way of patience. Anyway, good luck to you and Ron. I hope he get's it worked out soon.

I hear ya

I'm NOT a tech guy so I'm not sure why it has proven to be so difficult for Ron to get this straightened out. However, I know he's working really hard to get it fixed.

So here's a new problem...

I can see the headline of Craig's new post for the day when I log out. Of course, I can't open it because I've logged out. When I log back in, the new post isn't to be seen. The jackass post is the newest thread. I've tried 3 times and gotten the same result.

New login to see morning post

You will probably need to logout and login to see Craig's new post. Why is the login so wonky now?

Beaten back at the instant it approached $1,400.

I think this is a good sign for next week. I'm still concerned about the 10 year, but I bought the dip this morning. Fingers crossed.

Why is gold down? Why is 10 yr UST rate up? Help the Jackass

Jobs report was suitable stellar according to the BLSBS, despite 30% unemployment according to Doc Willie.

UST went up as a result of the jobs report

Gold went down because the jobs and rates are comfortably numb

I'm kinda BE with DUST so gold's gonna need the shit kicked out of it for DUST to be net positive. A lot of peeps are saying this will happen.

My analysis aint worth a plugged nickel

Doc Willie's data is worth a lot. And we get it free of charge as paid members of TFMR

Help Doc in his hour of need. He's hurting

Crazy times

Good news is bad news. Stocks, bonds, and gold are all being sold for dollars because the Fed may not lower rates since the jobs numbers are so good.

The market action today only proves that everything is a bubble that depends on only one thing: the Fed.
