Thursday (Friday) Conversation - Dave Collum

A look back at 2018 and a look ahead into 2019.

52

It's with great pleasure that we introduce a new guest to TFMR, Dr. Dave Collum of Cornell University. Though Dave is professor of organic chemistry by day, he's also a terrific analyst and commentator regarding the global financial system. His annual "Year In Review" column is always a must read and thus it was a treat to make his acquaintance through this podcast.

If you missed Dave's most recent "Year In Review", you can review it now though this link: https://www.peakprosperity.com/blog/114635/2018-year-review We must warn you, though...It's lengthy and detailed so don't just rush through it. Carve out some time and give it your undivided attention. You won't be disappointed.

For this podcast, Dave and I primarily discussed three topics:

  • Dave's background and how/why he got interested in global monetary issues.
  • What were the two or three most important events of 2018?
  • Looking ahead, what will Year In Review 2019 look like?

I think you're going to really enjoy this podcast. Thanks again to Dave for being so generous with his time and I look forward to keeping in tough through the months ahead.

Marion Maréchal (Le Pen)

Background on younger Le Pen family member for those of us outside of France who may be unfamiliar with her -

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marion_Maréchal

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/25/marine-le-pens-niece-tippe...

(Note: above article is from the Guardian. The author equates maintaining national sovereignty and border security with 'racist politics'. But maybe the globalists are really starting to worry ?)

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/apr/20/marion-marechal-le-pen-tra...

(Despite the name change- Marion maintains her ideas .)

(Note: the late Bob Chapman knew the senior patriarch Jean-Marie Le Pen and spoke highly of his daughter Marine LePen. Bob was fluent in French and German.)

Re: Super Wolf Blood Moon

I like stuff like that so hat tipped you. (I had a telescope & was into astronomy as a kid). But if there will be 28 of these this century, they’re not so rare. More common than US Presidential elections.

Super wolf blood moon

"The total lunar eclipse will begin on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 11:41 p.m. EST and last until 12:44 a.m. on Monday, Jan 21, according to Space.com, which pinpoints the peak viewing at 12:16 a.m. EST on Jan. 21."

https://www.yahoo.com/gma/super-wolf-blood-moon-welcome-2019-rare-celest...

Only 28 expected this century.

I heard it is good luck if you take a silver coin weighing no less than an ounce, and toss it over your right shoulder while standing naked under the super wolf blood moon.

Marine Le Pen

What I read is that the government went after Marine Le Pen for ‘hate speech’ because of her speaking out against the mass migration of Muslims from the Middle East.

and he wrote it at age 16 or 18

Personally I would like to see a Joan of Arc (also around 18 years old). In France we had imho such a figure in Marion Le Pen, the niece of Marine Le Pen. She dropped out from politics - but she is good - really good but ran into family problems.

Re: Keeping My Head Down

Wishing you and the people of France all the best, my friend.

And if you get a chance to mention the name de la Boétie to a few Frenchmen, it may even help their cause.

Keeping my head down

you never know when you're going to jibe these days.

I had a very interesting conversation with three gilets jaunes Saturday. You would be surprised how well-informed these "ordinary people" are. They walked through the town during the Farmer's market to show their presence. Saturday was the mayor's well wishes for the New Year (in many towns). Where they will win - is by simply wearing down the police forces who are over-worked, and the movement is gaining support in the general public with each violent police reaction. Don't forget Macron was elected with 26% of the voting population voting. As the French say "ras-le-bol".
