Thursday Conversation - Grant Williams

A discussion of the US$ and the gold standard.

21

With all sorts of uncertainty ahead in 2019, what a great time to check in with Grant Williams, sound money advocate and co-founder of Real Vision.

Grant and I recorded this on Wednesday, just after the release of the FOMC Fedlines. And what a great time to visit! Over the course of this call, we discuss three main topics:

  • The immediate reaction to the Fedlines and what we might expect in 2019.
  • The likelihood of an eventual re-imposition of a gold standard monetary system.
  • And in the end, what do you do with all of your physical gold and silver?

As mentioned in this podcast, you should be certain to watch Grant's latest presentation. While his work is always educational and informative, this latest is particularly timely and helpful. Have you ever wondered about the gold standard and why so many in politics, finance and the media seem to abhor it? Take 40 minutes to watch the video below and you'll soon understand.

And don't forget to consider a subscription to RealVision for 2019 and beyond. With global events careening out of control and economic uncertainty prevailing, now is the time to access as many trusted sources of information as possible. More information can be found here: https://www.realvision.com

Thanks again to Grant for sharing some of his valuable time with us. Please be sure to give this podcast a thorough listen.

Happy Yuletide

Today December 21st is winter solstice and the first day of Yuletide.

A winter solstice is the moment in time when the Earth's tilt away from the Sun is at its maximum and the Sun's maximum elevation in the sky is at its lowest.

That Wolf thingy

Not connected to the talk other than the wolf reference, but I know Wolves are popular creatures and I did see this very interesting item about the Wolf & Moose relationship on Isle Royale, Lake Superior. Just thought I`d add it. Grant Williams is a top drawer chap, we share a similar accent but I can tell he went to a better school than me, but I am a little taller than him so we will call it all quits.

Thanks for Grant's interview

The Bob Moriarty interview by Jay Taylor is excellent on explaining Novo's NR today. Thanks for posting that Pabste. As usual with any Novo NRs, it was difficult to understand. Moriarty was great at explaining the great results.

Well AGX

all I know is; When the really big events happen, when many are peering out of their hidden caves on Mount Rainier, and a can of bean will cost two apples, the bonds/interest rates/DOW/national debt/SS checks/and the wall at our southern border, will not have a thimble full of meaning or concern. Even the two banks , at the bar, will be FINISHED. jmo Jim

Great explanation by Grant

Keynesian economists generally blame gold for being a chaotic option when introduced as the anchor to a monetary system. They just forget mentioning the system already imploded.

Grant said,"it is where we end up".

I'm cuckcoo for Co Co Bonds

Anyone got some of these DBank contingent convertible bonds selling for 83 cents on the dollar DBank hit a new low of $8 and the bonds are in peril of being converted . Did I read that right. Something about the bonds being bailed in if the bank's regulatory capital falls below a certain level. Converted to what? Magic bail in beans?

I really can't figger this out. Must be high finance or sumptin' DBank is in hot water along with 3 other banks for a decade long rigging, colluding and conspiring by back channel means to price manipulate trillions in sovereign bonds. Naughty Naughty I pity the fool that thinks merging DBank with Commerz bank is a good idea

Two drunk banks walk into the ECB Bar and Grill.

"Set up drinks for everyone and a round for all of our friends here" says one of the drunken banks

Barkeep says "Who's Paying?"

DBank says "Italy"
