Thursday Conversation - Brent Johnson of Santiago Capital

An informative discussion on the future of the US$.

CEO, Portfolio Manager

Brent Johnson is one of the good guys. He's a sound money advocate who understands that, though change is coming, it's not necessarily coming next week.

To that end, it was great fun to get caught up with Brent and discuss the US$...not only the long-term forecast but what can be expected in the next 12-24 months, too. So please be sure to give this podcast a listen and then fully consider the points that Brent makes. While we all expect the dollar's days as global reserve currency to eventually come to an end, how you position yourself in the run-up to the event may impact how fully prepared you are for navigating the crisis when it comes.

Thanks again to Brent for so generously sharing his time with us!

Adding a little off-topic

Adding a little off-topic spice to today's comments....

This amazing girl appeared in the very first filmed episode of Perry Mason. Her name was Judy Tyler and in the scene pictured here, her super tight shorts even had Burr modestly stuffing both hands in his pants. (Amazing that the super strict censors of the day missed this one or maybe their eyes just melted from the heat.)

Her star was rising fast in 1957, having just completed shooting Jailhouse Rock with Elvis followed by this episode of Perry Mason ("The Case of the Fan-Dancers Horse) but she never got to see either production.

A bit racist thing going on

A bit racist thing going on NW? Certainly not a Christian religiosity that you pretend to have.

"The Middle East wants to send their flocks into your neighborhood, wanting new laws to control the minds and souls of a formerly free people." Nice BIG generalization you got going there, but that's how most imbeciles think, in grandiose generalizations. It's easier that way.

Ned Braden Re Venezuela .....

Ned Braden Re Venezuela ..... Something fishy here. The usual rhetoric about getting the bad guys is always BS. Gold pops on days this occurs. Something else going on. I think it's getting close.

The problem is Libero, NW is exactly right. The Muslims are not emigrating to Europe and the United States to assimilate into the existing culture. They are forcing their Sharia laws upon the western culture.

I just don't understand these

I just don't understand these currency markets, the strong dollar meme and how the dollar is so much better than the others, when we have big skeletons in the closet like the missing $21 trillion dollars which has been audited by the GAO but all the numbers are redacted so there is no longer any real transparency or accountability of the whole fucking budget and expenditures when you can't audit DoD the biggest department and they can just cast it off as national security concerns. Don't worry about that kind of thing I guess.

What is this magical hand(ESF or PPT) that almost daily during periods of time the past eight years that pushes the markets up? The markets are all based on momentum, liquidity and stock buy backs with the low interest while fundamentals and true GAAP for big corporations are out the window. I always thought you weren't supposed to invest in things you don't understand. It's all rigged, that is what I understand.

So now to get by for a while we are supposed to nibble on the investor blue pill side of things I guess because the PM's certainly haven't gotten us anywhere for quite some time.

Time old guys like me to go to work? Hmmm
