"The Mercenary Geologist" Mickey Fulp joined us today for another insightful discussion of commodities and the mining sector.

One of the most difficult aspects of mining share investing is dealing with the challenge of discerning a high quality opportunity from a potential loser. While no one can get it right all of the time, your possibilities for profit can be greatly enhanced if you find some wisdom and experience to guide you. To that end, Mickey Fulp has spent the past 35 years analyzing and exploring within the mining sector and he freely shares his insights through his website http://www.goldgeologist.com/index.html

Over the course of this 50-minute webinar, Mickey addresses a number of issues and answers several listener questions. Some of the topics covered include:

  • the ongoing rallies in cooper, zinc and other industrial metals and what this may be telling us about commodities, in general
  • Mickey's thoughts on the latest discoveries in the Pilbara region of Australia
  • the timing of selloffs and rallies as we approach year end
  • Mickey's opinions on a whole host of specific names within the mining sector
  • and much, much more!

I'm confident that you're going to find this information to be extremely valuable so I strongly encourage you to carve out some time today or over the weekend to give this a listen. Thanks again to Mickey for being so generous with his time!

Jan. 18 calls

80 or 90 % of options expire worthless. That's why, in the 1990s, while the DOW was down 7% one year, my account was up 14%, mainly from writing covered calls on WMT and LLY.

I have been afraid to write covered calls on my miners, fearing an explosion in price.

But, being an incurable optimist and a brute for punishment, I just bought 40 Jan. 18 calls on First Majestic.

Cameco cut production - industry cannot produce at these price

No real downside from here (though upside could still be 2-3 years out depending on when utilities start getting serious about future contracts)- I own shares in UEC and Western Uranium, which have American assets.  Hopefully Bill and Hillary won't attempt to sell them to Russia.

Re PAAS

I added a little Pan American and didn't sell any silver stocks despite the beatings.

Today's sharp drop in Pan American Silver (PAAS -6%) following the miner's Q3 earnings report likely is the result of technical factors and not company fundamentals, according to analysts at B. Riley FBR who upgrade shares to Buy from Neutral with a $21 price target based on a strong Q3 cost performance.

Riley says Q3 results showcase PAAS's cost-effective assets, as management cut its cost guidance for the second time this year; Q3 cash costs were $3.12/oz. of silver, down 36% Y/Y and far better than the firm's expectation of $5.31/oz.

PAAS released positive project updates as well as further deleveraging, Riley notes, adding that PAAS has underperformed silver prices, further underscoring the buying opportunity. Neutral with a $21 price target based on a strong Q3 cost performance.

Price of Silver

Self fulfilling prophesy.  Miners should determine the price of their product rather than some POS Banker.  You want silver, you pay what it costs to produce it, plus a profit.  If you are analyst, you don't ignore the fact that market factors are ignored in a fake, manipulated, fabricated pricing system designed for banker profits.  The banks owe the miners all their profits and get the hell out of price determination.  Strong message follows.

Trump’s DHS Nominee: Americans ‘Owe’ Amnesty to DACA Illegals

President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Homeland Security says “we owe” amnesty to the nearly 700,000 illegal aliens who are shielded from deportation under the expiring DACA amnesty.

In her confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Kirstjen Nielsen confirmed her pro-amnesty, mass immigration views by saying that it is the United States’ responsibility to legalize illegal aliens shielded under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“I believe that we must and we owe it to them to find a permanent solution,” she said of passing a DACA amnesty that could potentially lead to a chain migration of 9.9 million to 19 million foreign nationals pouring into the U.S. legally. “It’s no way to expect anyone to live a month or two months at a time,” said Nielsen, even though the DACA work-permits each last for two years.

Nielsen did not cite any conditions, offsets or safeguards when announcing her support for amnesty. She did not even mention the President’s immigration principles, announced October 8.

As Breitbart News reported, Nielsen previously noted that should she be confirmed to lead DHS, she would be “ready to work” with lawmakers in passing an amnesty for DACA illegal aliens.

“Congress has a clear constitutional policymaking authority to change immigration law in order to develop a permanent solution for those individuals that were [DACA] recipients,” Nielsen wrote in a pre-hearing document. “If confirmed, I will stand ready to work with Congress to provide any technical assistance needed towards a permanent, legal solution and towards enacting measures that enhance border security, interior enforcement, and our immigration system generally.”

As Breitbart News reported, Nielsen’s nomination to head DHS has been praised by the cheap foreign labor lobby, open borders advocates, and the Washington, D.C. national security establishment – which allied itself with the failed “Never Trump” movement during the 2016 presidential election.

Likewise, Nielsen chaired a committee at the World Economic Forum that promoted mass immigration to Europe and the U.S., claiming Western nations did not have a choice and needed to accept millions of migrants. That report, as Breitbart News reported, was co-authored by executives from multinational corporations and world banks.

Additionally, Breitbart News reported on Nielsen’s involvement with the Bush administration’s response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, when more than 30,000 illegal aliens and foreign workers were able to come to the U.S. to take American blue-collar jobs which those devastated by the natural disaster had hoped to get.

Following Hurricane Katrina, 1.5 million Americans were displaced by the storm, and easing of labor laws by the Bush administration left many looking for work outside of the Gulf Coast since illegal aliens and foreign workers quickly dominated the paid clean-up effort.

Pioneer Resources HotCopper Post

PIO.AX .... PIONF

For those that do not know me I discovered Purdys and Comet Well and signed an agreement with Novo resources to purchase my interest.

My leases have started a gold rush, is the only way to explain it.

I’ve watched as companys in the area doubled in price and I cannot believe that Pioneer has not tripled.

I’m no geologist but Pioneer holds very solid leases in between Novo and De Grey with the geology and history that tells me there is a lot more to come from this company.

Re: Pioneer Maps HotCopper

I just found it too, on the SYA thread 30th October.

his reply to me was "down the bottom is private holders ,up the top is another private mob as well"

Looks like a lot of nuggets found on that private (uncoloured) ground.
They seem to intrude into the PIO ground????

Hi all.
I have taken some of the Images from the posts of john435 and Michaeljob to show a clearer perspective.

From Michaeljob.

For those who have not yet read tonight's announcement on DEG I'd suggest doing so. What's becoming quite clear is that the nuggets are being found in conglomerate underlying the Mt Roe Basalt. The nuggets look to be hosted in this undefined conglomerate zone and are discovered on the fringes of the Mallina formation which aligns very well with our acreage. We have conglomerate and we have plenty of Mallina, the rumours coming from the prospectors in the area also suggest that we have plenty of nuggets.

The map I've posted before shows just how much of the Mallina and associated systems lay within our tenements. The dots are now so close that joining them should become a formality.

Look at the shape of the blue and see if it looks familiar on the next image from john435.

Here is a closer view from an image I put up recently also which is slightly closer again.

9/11 and Yemen/Saudi rocket attack

I appreciate the two attacks are not remotely comparable in size, but I had a strong sense of Deja Vu when I heard of the rocket attack. Going back, on the morning of 9/11 when I heard of the planes hitting the WTC, I said to my wife "Saddam will be shaking in his boots", she asked "why , did he do it?" and I said "no, but they will use it as a  stick with which to beat him". Fast forward to this week and as I heard of the "Yemeni" attack, I said again to my better half that "you will find that the rocket was from Iran"...you can guess the rest, hence the deja vu. I hope I am wrong but sadly being long war and short peace has been a good trade for a long time, too long.

Defeated Elsewhere, Saudi Tyrant Declares War On Lebanon

I don't know 100% who fired the missile into Saudi Arabia. I do know that Iran could hit Saudi Arabia anytime it wants to. But Iran funds Hezbollah. Without Iran Hezbollah doesn't exist. Therefore I tend to agree with the authour below. The Houthis have been fighting the Saudi's ( and Israel and the US ) for over two years. The conclusion is most likely that the Houthis fired that missile. But make no mistake. Iran is the target. Lebanon will be used to draw the Hezbollah military into a fight and thus Iran. The Empire of Chaos wants War with Iran.

http://www.moonofalabama.org/2017/11/defeated-elsewhere-saudi-ruler-declares-war-on-lebanon.html

The Saudis claim that Yemeni missiles are of Iranian origin and launched by Iranian specialists. Iran denies this. Weapon experts at IHS Janes refute that claim:

Burkan-2 missile launched by Houthis is Scud derivative and is unlike variants made by Iran or DPRK.

The Houthi in Yemen are supported by elements of the Yemeni army under command of the former Yemeni President Saleh. The Yemen army has for decades owned and used variants of Scud missiles. It is unlikely that it needs help to modify and launch these.
