A2A with Chris Powell of GATA

Chris Powell and Bill Murphy formed the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee in 1998 and they've been stalwart allies in the fight against gold price suppression and manipulation ever since. What a pleasure it was today to get caught up with Chris and get his thoughts on the current state of the global market for gold.

As you listen, you'll quickly be reminded that Chris is still one of the most informed and well-spoken advocates for our cause. Over the course of this webinar, he addresses a number of current issues including:

  • the most important lesson he's learned in the 20 years he's followed the gold market
  • the strange occurrence of SecTreas Mnuchin visiting Ft Knox and the equally strange television interview of Terry Duffy, the CEO of the CME Group
  • whether the US government would financially benefit from revaluing the price of gold
  • how physical demand will paly a role in finally ending the tyranny of the central banks and bullion banks
  • and much, much more!

Please be sure to give this discussion a thorough listen as you are almost certainly going to learn a few things that you didn't previously know. And then, when you're finished, please click over to the GATA site and send them some financial support. Their efforts are tireless and we need to ensure that they remain on our side in this fight. https://www.gata.org/node/16

Kirby on Armstrong

" I’ve grown weary with people writing me and asking for my opinion on Martin Armstrong. I have laid out the historical facts intermittently over time between this blog and the predecessor The Golden Truth. People who follow and put faith in Martin Armstrong have no knowledge of his background or any understanding of just how psychopathically corrupt this guy is. "

Are you saying that they are treated like the long term unemployed where you drop them out of the data. That they no longer exist. They don't count in the data becsuse it is negative to the perception. No! A week or so ago those jobs and those businesses existed and if they hired a bartender it was counted. Now the jobs don,'t exist, the businesses don't exist, and until different businesses are added and these or other people replace them, there is a decline in employment. The people still exist The goverment cannot just throw them in with the 100 million that already don't exist. I guess the government want more people employed than exist, like the voting rolls.

Is Gold Still Relevant?

Is that from the Martin Armstrong that did this??

"Prosecutors alleged that Armstrong defrauded a group of Japanese investors for $700 million and hiding some $15 million from the feds. He refused to give up 699 gold coins, 102 gold bars, rare coins and an ancient bust of Julius Caesar, among other things, resulting in him being hit with the longest prison time on record for federal white collar crime. When he was sent to prison in 2000, gold was at $285 an ounce and at the time of the article, it was trading at $1,652 an ounce. He continues to deny that he has it stashed or knows where it is. In addition to the 7 year sentence for bilking the Japanese investors, he pleaded guilty in 2006 for lying to investors about his assets under management and his trading record. Armstrong's partner in crime was Republic Securities, now a part of HSBC Holdings PLC. They joined in the guilty plea, admitting that they aided him in the swindle, costing the firm $569 million in restitution. After 12 years in prison, the felon was released in March 2011."

Sure he hates gold, it in all likelihood has hidden mountains of it, but can't touch it. So, he just says its worthless to make all gold owners feel miserable just like he must be at this point.

In addition, keep in mind his convictions were not for a hit and run or an assault, his crimes involved financial fraud and theft, i.e., his honesty, integrity and moral turpitude. So, I do not read any of his dribble because it is impossible to determine if he is writing truth and fact, or if he is writing for his own self interest or if he has ulterior motives in his writings that benefit him in some way. In short, he has zero credibility IMHO.

thats a whole different story. There are too many people and families that financially just had their lives permanently changed.

The humanistic side is its own story.
