In the hope of maintaining sanity...and keeping the other threads on-topic...here's a new thread where you can discuss politics all weekend long. Please use this post for that purpose.
Last evening, I found myself in the car. While I usually use car time as an escape...where I listen to music or sports radio...last night I found the radio tuned to The Mark Levin Show. Again, I don't usually listen to this program but I found myself interested in the discussion. Today, I went to the Mark Levin Show website (https://www.marklevinshow.com) and found the recorded podcast.
This recording begins with a discussion of the U.S. Constitution featuring current Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. From there, it segues to the observations of Alexis de Tocqueville and Levin's own statement that the U.S. has transitioned into a form of "post-Constitutional soft tyranny". All of this combines to explain the Trump candidacy and why it may succeed.
With the U.S. election just 11 days away, I thought that this audio was something that many folks here would find insightful and relevant. Please give it a listen and then, as mentioned above, let's try to keep the inevitable "political" comments confined to this thread for the weekend.
