A Political (but not apolitical) Thread

In the hope of maintaining sanity...and keeping the other threads on-topic...here's a new thread where you can discuss politics all weekend long. Please use this post for that purpose.

Last evening, I found myself in the car. While I usually use car time as an escape...where I listen to music or sports radio...last night I found the radio tuned to The Mark Levin Show. Again, I don't usually listen to this program but I found myself interested in the discussion. Today, I went to the Mark Levin Show website (https://www.marklevinshow.com) and found the recorded podcast.

This recording begins with a discussion of the U.S. Constitution featuring current Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. From there, it segues to the observations of Alexis de Tocqueville and Levin's own statement that the U.S. has transitioned into a form of "post-Constitutional soft tyranny". All of this combines to explain the Trump candidacy and why it may succeed.

With the U.S. election just 11 days away, I thought that this audio was something that many folks here would find insightful and relevant. Please give it a listen and then, as mentioned above, let's try to keep the inevitable "political" comments confined to this thread for the weekend.

Audio quality

In order to cut this down to less than 13 minutes, I had to re-record the podcast on my own computer. So the audio isn't the best but it is what it is.

Well maybe the FBI can get it right this time.

and, you know, the moral of the whole story is that shit comes back onto you when you deserve it. This is Karma.

Well lets See

How this thread goes Lol Keep Stacking

I really enjoyed that but truth be told I wasn't really that excited to listen.

O! By The Way. 1st

 Sweet day today miners

Sweet day today miners holding up well gold silver fighting hard and the icing on the cake

Hillary's fat arse is back in the sling - Oh joy!!!

Maybe she should start singing - Led zeppelin has the lyrics for you Clinton , you and your corrupt buddies!!

Hangman hangman hold it for little while

I think I see my friends coming, riding many a mile

Friends you get some silver?

Did you get a little Gold?

What did you bring me, my dear friends

To keep me from the Gallows Pole

What did you bring me to keep me from the gallows pole?

Crickets chirping!!!! hopefully you are on your own now bitch!!!

Oct 28, 2016 - 3:21pm

My thoughts...

First off, I am a Conservative (not necessarily a Republican but the two are close enough). Trump was far and away my last choice of candidates on the Republican side. I still intend to vote for him.

I wonder if the steady drip of Podesta's emails released by Wikileaks was hammering the internal/private polling even more then what we see. Perhaps this Reopening of the investigation is intended to give up a short term drop that can stem the flow of the Wiki releases - the cure being offered up in a few days at most. Which is this investigation declaring Hillary is again clean and clear of all wrongdoing issued by Comey/the FBI.

Good Luck to All...

ps To Quote Harry S. Truman ~ "You can't get rich in politics unless you're a crook."

Oct 28, 2016 - 3:22pm

Unrelated case

Perhaps the unrelated case was the murder of the poor intern some time ago, Seth Rich, now that would be something that not even the FBI could overlook.

Oct 28, 2016 - 3:26pm

Re the Hillary news

See this:

So the new emails surfaced from Huma's phone or computer. Interesting. This might indeed be something significant.

Oct 28, 2016 - 3:28pm

The FBI's case was opened because of the case involving Anthony Weiner. Talk about getting it rammed. Lol

I can see all the jokes now. What a time to be alive. Keep Stacking

Mr. T...

Fine thinking regarding this thread. I bet it'll be a busy place this weekend.

Thanks for all the great work you do !

Being a betting kinda guy, I'm thinking the over/under on number of comments is 350 by Monday am. My stab in the dark will be the over, and 387 will be my guess.

Should be a fun weekend here, lots of smart folks with good common sense.

Post-Constitutional Soft Tyranny

In case you haven't figured out...and in case anyone cares...this is precisely where I think we are in the U.S. today. Which is also why TurdFork often flies this flag:
