Right on cue, gold rebounded today and recovered most of the contract expiration losses of yesterday. Now, with another volatile week ahead, can it crawl back toward $1300 and, if it does, what will happen with silver?

As we wrap up the week and the month (a month which saw gold +8% while the S&P was -3%), just a discussion of these charts:

GOLD

SILVER

the HUI and the S&P

And this crazy chart of 10-year German and Japanese bond yields

Regarding the totally insane global interest rate picture, please print off and read this remarkable story from Zerohedge. Then take the printed copy and add it to your Stack For Posterity. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-01-30/denmark-you-are-now-paid-take-...

And finally, here's a fun article from SRSrocco covering many of the topics we regularly discuss here in Turdville: https://srsroccoreport.com/big-trouble-for-u-s-gold-market-no-available-...

Have a great weekend!

Since we all here want physical

Why fight the power? After each runup gets started, buy put options the next month out. Since we rarely go a month without a monkey-hammer why not prepare? After the hammer, close the option and use the cash for REAL metal.

Re PMs

I hadn't really paid attention to these particular verses before but reread this recently and it jumped out at me. I wasn't aware that "gold" showed up so early in the Bible, and described as "good".

"A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden...where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good..." (Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭10-12‬ ESV)

My bold. Interesting to say at the very least. In the 2nd chapter of very first book!

@Turd

Can you explain what the Shanghai withdrawals mean? We heard years ago from Santa and others that the Asian exchange(s?) would fix paper pricing, but it hasn't. Just not familiar with it enough to know what I'm reading on it. Thx if possible.

Reasons for Owning Precious Metals

1. For thousands of years of human history gold and silver have been money. I believe they will revert to their monetary role.

2. Gold and silver can be exchanged for the local currency in just about any country in the world. I don't know of any country where gold and silver have no value.

3. They will not spoil. They can be stored indefinitely.

4. This is the first time in human history that the entire worlds monetary system is based on faith and imagination. All other world reserve currencies were based on precious metals. There isn't a historical precedent for what is going to happen when the world reserve currency hyper inflates.

Chilly D, Like arguing with your wife

After the initial argument shows that you were innocent (and ignorant) of all charges, you get nailed for what might have been or what would happen to you if you did do something like that... Logic, can you leave the room please, I`m on the back foot and need to use emotion and bullshit here because I picked the wrong fight... I`ve listened to Don before and he`s not all bad but I think he seen a guy called Turd who shoots his mouth off about PMs and thought he had an easy target, he didn`t bring you on his show to make you look good but haha ! You shot him down good and proper...Logic, you can come back in now. If he`s has any sort of class, he`ll become a subscriber to TF Metals Report, well done TF, and by the way, thanks for the yield curve malarkey, you have no idea how helpful that was...now, if you can just explain COT and Specs one more time, we`ll be good, have a great weekend Turdville, cheers !

Re new platform

why "23" hrs a day, for a global platform? Seems odd at first read.

Some may recall me mentioning

Some may recall me mentioning a few weeks back that Andy was working on a "special project". There you go.

We'll be discussing it here in the days ahead, too.

has this been posted

Andrew Maguire: “Eric, in the next two weeks you are going to hear a lot of noise as a fully-functioning, 23-hour a day global physical exchange is made mainstream….

This is going to act as a conduit for this much needed liquidity. The trading platform is directly connected to a totally independent, fully allocated exchange — completely bypassing the LBMA.

Death Knell For The LBMA

This is the death knell for the unallocated LBMA system. Over time it will even eliminate the need to have a once a day silver (fix) or a twice a day gold fix altogether. This exchange allows institutional and physical investment buyers to share the same global platform 23-hours a day, where their transactions are totally hidden from the controlling LBMA bullion banks — who currently have the advantage of front-running physical orders.
