A method (recipe) for making good meat pasties

are what I yearn for. There used to be a manufacturer in the Auburn WA area that made them. I used to have Angus meat pies once or twice a week. I miss those.

Ukraine set to cement shift West in wartime vote

War-weary Ukrainians pick a powerful new parliament next Sunday set to be dominated by pro-Western and nationalist forces who will determine if President Petro Poroshenko can make peace with the Kremlin while holding on to the separatist east.

But it will be a vote held on a war footing in which millions of ethnic Russians in Ukraine will not be able to cast ballots because their lands have been either annexed by the Kremlin or seized by pro-Moscow militants.

And it will be quickly followed by another poll called by insurgents in the mainly Russian-speaking eastern rustbelt whose battle against government forces has killed 3,700 people and left Ukraine in economic ruins.

"The main issue of this election is war and peace," said Volodymyr Fesenko of Kiev's Penta political research institute.

The rival elections are the latest act in a historic and bloody drama played out at warp speed across the culturally splintered nation on the European Union's outer frontier.

Russian-backed president Viktor Yanukovych's rejection of a deal with the European Union last November sparked months of street unrest that culminated in the shooting of nearly 100 people and the ousting of the ruling elite.

But the Kremlin's subsequent seizure of Crimea and alleged backing of the eastern revolt triggered a Cold War-style confrontation between Moscow and the West.

Poroshenko hopes the October 26 vote will give him the mandate to follow through on a hotly disputed peace plan he agreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin in September after a string of catastrophic battlefield defeats.

Insurgents who control parts of the coal and steel producing heartland of Ukraine intend to ignore the October 26 ballot and open polling stations one week later for a leadership vote denounced by Kiev as illegitimate.

The rebels' ultimate aim is to form a new entity called Novorossiya (New Russia) that could follow Crimea's example and be incorporated by the Kremlin.

"Western governments will likely expect action by Russia to dissuade the separatists from proceeding (with their own vote), something Moscow has not indicated it will do," Eurasia Group said.

Germany takes a stand on MH 17

Germany says Ukraine rebels downed MH17 with seized missiles

BERLIN: German intelligence has accused pro-Russian rebels of shooting down a Malaysian passenger jet over Ukraine using missiles captured from government forces, a media report said Sunday.

Kiev and the West have previously charged that Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was blown out of the sky in July by separatist fighters using a BUK surface-to-air system supplied by Russia, charges denied by Moscow.

But the head of Germany's BND foreign spy agency Gerhard Schindler said intelligence indicated the rebels had captured a BUK system from a Ukrainian base and fired a missile that exploded directly next to the plane, Spiegel magazine reported.

Schindler said Russian claims the missile was fired by Ukrainian soldiers and that a Ukrainian fighter jet was flying close to the Malaysia Airlines plane were false, according to Monday's edition of Spiegel.

He also said Ukrainian photos had been "manipulated", the magazine reported but did not elaborate on what the pictures showed, who had provided them or altered them.

Schindler presented his findings to parliamant's control committee overseeing German intelligence work on October 8.

An initial report by Dutch investigators issued last month found that the jet was hit by multiple "high-energy" objects but did not apportion blame.

The Russian-made BUK works by exploding directly outside the target and hitting it with a massive amount of high-velocity shrapnel.

ted nugent interview

Spot on................Don't you love it when the words come out better than you thought?

Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan, was being interviewed by a liberal journalist who is also an animal rights activist.

The discussion came around to deer hunting.

The journalist asked, "What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, 'Are you my friend?' or is it 'Are
you the one who killed my brother?'"

Nugent replied, "Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next,
and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the Democrats in Congress."

The interview ended.

@Wizard They aren't putting

They aren't putting that in the flu vaccine, they are modifying the influenza virus to modify gene expression. This "vaccine" IS a virus, and it's airborne. Nothing at all to do with the flu vaccine.

@ Sparticus

I would be glad to send you pics. But I'm not going through the effort of uploading them and giving you a link to get there, sorry but I don't have the time to do that.

I would gladly attatch them to an email, but I don't have YOUR email address Nor a PM box here anymore.

I'm afraid you will either have to offer up an email addy, or just stew/gumbo thinking about things you seem interested in.
