Nuclear War with John Batchelor and Steve Cohen

For the moment, The Ukraine Crisis has been pushed to the back burner with a ceasefire and hostilities in the Middle East drawing media attention further away. Sadly, though, this Crisis will NOT be going away and the long-term ramifications might be deadly for all mankind.

The first half of last night's discussion focuses upon the recent decision by the Woody administration to go ahead with a plan to "modernize" the American nuclear weapons systems. This is a definite re-start of The Cold War and it flies in the face of all that candidate Woody promised in 2008. I about spit out my coffee when I heard Professor Cohen state that the price-tag of this could be as high as $1T! The New York Times recently wrote about this in a lengthy expose here:

The NYT editorial board also took up the story yesterday:

The second half of the show deals with updates from the front and all of the latest geo-political developments.

PLEASE give this a thorough listen.

Two things

For some reason, we're suddenly having issues with the audio player. I've asked The Tech Team to look into it ASAP but, for now, the podcast can only be heard if you click the "download podcast" link right under the Provident ad.

Also, I just love the Russian music....probably because The Hunt for Red October is one of my alltime favorite movies. Imagine my delight in hearing these guys mention it right out of the box in their show. Instead of editing all of this "bumper" music out as I usually do, I left some in, just for fun.

But sad also, that I have time in the middle of the day to be commenting. Oh well, at least I'm getting paid.

Ominous Times

I listened to this latest Batchelor - Cohen late last evening. Very ominous.

I'm in my late fifties - I grew up in the 60's and 70's and recall all too well the US/Soviet Cold War era. If someone had told me we would be returning to those dangerous times just a couple of years ago - I would have laughed. Not so funny now.

The Nobel Peace prize President .. what a joke.

I do believe I will re-watch the Hunt for Red October this evening.

"Ukraine is Bankrupt"

Somewhere around the mid-point, SFC states that Ukraine is bankrupt. This, in addition to General Winter's arrival and no gas is the reason many are thinking the current Kiev govt could collapse.

With that in mind, I just came across this:

Ukraine May Need Far More Foreign Aid to Rescue Its Economy

ByIan Talley

Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko at the White House last month

Getty Images

Ukraine needs three to four times more emergency cash than the International Monetary Fund currently forecasts.

That’s the view of Lubomir Mitov, chief Europe economist for the Institute of International Finance, a global banking group. “The economic situation has deteriorated sharply; it is close to disastrous,” said Mr. Mitov. “The IMF program has to be redone, has to be extended for three years at least.”

He estimates Ukraine faces a financing hole of $13 billion to $15 billion through next year even if a ceasefire between Kiev and Russia-backed separatists holds.

The IMF earlier this month said the country needs at least $3.5 billion more than originally planned to keep it afloat through the end of next year. That amount could rise to $19 billion if the civil war continues, the fund said. That’s on top of the $30 billion global bailout program the IMF is already spearheading.

But Mr. Mitov, who recently returned from the war-torn country, says the needs are far larger than the IMF’s public assessment.

The IIF expects the economy will contract at a double-digit pace this year, down from its previous estimate for an 8% contraction, based on the presumption of a prolonged stalemate with the separatists. He estimates Kiev’s budget deficit will hit 12% this year and banking recapitalization needs are likely to be more urgent and much larger than the $4 billion detailed by government officials. Major Ukrainian manufacturing infrastructure is damaged or offline, Kiev’s budget is suffering from weak revenues and rising military costs and the country’s devalued currency is still wreaking havoc on the financial system. (Silver Sooner edit: Ukraine's hrivna/USD exchange rate has risen from 1:8 to the current 1:14 since the crisis began late last year)

Cold War....

Yes, let's see the U.S. out spend and out build Asia...

Sep 24, 2014 - 11:31am

I hear ya, considering the first conditions sparked a near-genocide in the Donbass. But I'm beginning to think that the overall situation has hit a stabilization/consolidation phase and that things are going to float sideways for a long while. This, despite a mass civilian grave being discovered this week in formerly-Ukrainian-occupied territory (women found beheaded, bound, tortured, shot in the head, etc).

Time is on the Kremlin's side...especially with the winter coming and the overall economic weakness of the western world. Russia's recent economic inroads with China are also helping. Sanctions are merely forcing much-needed reforms in Russia's military/economy to eliminate unreliable external sources. Simply put, everything is working in Russia's favor right now and there's no need to do anything other than wait--wait for the inevitable economic catastrophe descending on Kiev.

Meanwhile, Donetsk and Lugansk prepare for local elections and continue to add recruits and equipment to their armed forces. But don't kid is hell in Donetsk right now with food prices and availability taking a huge toll.

Even still, this thing isn't going away any time soon.

ISIL the boogeyman, for false flag Syria attacks . . .

Lintlj5 posted this on the other thread a day or so ago, in response to earlier posts re: this likely false flag:

"Bingo! to those who said airstrikes against ISIS would be used as an excuse to get into Syria and ultimately topple Assad. The idea is being sold to the Right wing sheeple as we speak."

Now, here is Veterans Today:

"The US threat to bomb Syria, using ISIL as the pretext, is yet another preposterous false flag scenario. Just as when the US threatened to bomb Syria in retaliation for Assad’s alleged chemical weapons attack at al-Ghouta, the neocons are conjuring up a “dastardly enemy” in order to sell their war plans."

"And the first real cause that needs to be addressed is Western and Zionist support of ISIL. Why was ISIL armed and trained at CIA bases in Jordan? Why has Israel provided direct and indirect support to ISIL, going so far as to bring wounded ISIL fighters to Israeli hospitals for treatment? Why are Western assets in the Persian Gulf pouring money into ISIL’s coffers? And why is the Western “deep state,” which controls much of the world’s illegal drug trade, throwing its dirty money at ISIL?

The best way to stop ISIL would be for Obama to go on television and confess that US forces and its proxies, at the instigation of the neocon Zionists, created, armed, trained, and funded ISIL, in order to sow chaos and destruction, euphemistically termed “destabilization,” throughout the Middle East. By admitting the truth that ISIL is a manufactured enemy – “the best enemy money can buy” – Obama could undercut the series of neoconservative false flags that are leading towards planetary nuclear destruction. He would also be undercutting what little legitimacy ISIL enjoys among that small segment of the Muslim population whose anger is matched only by its naiveté.

During the same speech, Obama could reveal the fact that 9/11-anthrax, 7/7, the Madrid and Bali bombings, and the Mumbai slaughters have all been inside jobs orchestrated by the same neoconservative Zionist cabal. The goal: Turning global public opinion against Islam, and sparking a 100-years-war against Islam and Muslims on behalf of Greater Israel.

Unfortunately, the chances of a US president unveiling the lies that govern our world are practically nil. So realistically, we had best limit our short-term hopes to the modest expectation that once again, Putin and Obama (backed by US Joint Chiefs of Staff head Martin Dempsey) will prevent the neocons from sparking World War III."

Nuclear war to keep Fed.banksters from accountability?

"The Federal Reserve System’s proxy hold on the World is now facing a sudden catastrophic end. Those who created and still run this huge Ponzi scheme and fraud against the American people and the World, are going to fall flat on their faces and be fully exposed. They are likely to then be held accountable for this immense financial fraud and theft of the ages upon America and the World.

Unless……….they create some immediate catastrophic cover and use this as a means to activate their World Zionist secret police occupation force DHS inside America.

Serious options for the Bankster Kingpins to be able to head-off a very serious problem of impending and complete accountability to the public they have asset stripped of most of their wealth, jobs and futures.

nuclear_power_10If the US Petro Dollar collapses and a catastrophic Global reset occurs as is expected (unless somehow mitigated), those bankers responsible will be fingered and held accountable one way or another unless they do something major.

Their options include starting a nuclear WW3 with the Russian Federation and/or China, instituting a major epidemic that kills many millions inside America, or starting a new American Civil War between their Zionist Occupation force Homeland Security (DHS) and the American Gun Owners, hunters, Veterans, Patriots and folks who have “woken up” to the USG scam and major illegal power grab since 1913 and the USG Assassination of JFK.

The USG is now working hard to start a major war with Putin and the Russian Federation over Crimea using Cutout Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. She has admitted that the USG has already funneled 5 Billion USD to the Ukraine Leaders, and many experts view this as money to support Terrorist actions and attacks against Pro-Russian Federation people living in the Ukraine, especially Crimea.

Putin, the consummate Statesman, doesn’t show his cards, but perhaps holds a full hand.

5imagesSo far, Putin has shown himself to be a true Statesman and has avoided the USG provocations which are clearly dictated by the City of London World Zionists. It should be pointed out that it is probably not a wise choice to continue these provocations unless the USG truly wants a nuclear WW3, since experts who know Putin personally, claim that he will become a very resourceful and competent opponent in any forced war effort against the Russian Federation.

So far there appears to be an unwillingness in the High Command of the US Military to engage in any Nuclear WW3 with the Russian Federation. If such is ordered I suspect there will be stalling and recommendations that further analysis and space based satellite Intel must be reviewed carefully."

USA 30 year nuclear

USA 30 year nuclear renovation program is aimed at China not Russia; Russia will be Chinas petrol station long before that and not only petrol station- it will be split up and biggest part including Russia nukes will be under Chinese control.

At most, Russia has WWIII and 6 years before being split up by Europe (NATO) and China.

So there will be no 45 years of nuclear buildup from Russia; but from China in Russian territory , surely ( Russia will be for China like Eastern Germany was for Russia after end of destruction of German Empire) , anf that is where the threat to the USA, will be coming from. 30 years from now seem to be pretty accurate number before China will solve this question of who is the boss as the world will move over peak debt into money supply- and economy, and population, and technology decline.

Merkel, the modern Chamberlain, will be removed from office when her appeasement will fail and Russia will intervene in East Europe NATO -spring 2016 - those countries who will have courage to stay in NATO under Russian pressure- countries- of course mainly because the USA , hawks in Europe AND hawks in Russia will not allow appeasement to succeed.

USA itself may find a good excuse to fet out of NATO before that. Or it will be a so called

Which allowed Hitler to secure Poland and Eastern front before attacking West Europe. It was a good plan to invite Hitler to expand his agression to the West which eventually lead to expansion to the East which eventually lead to the disappearance of German Empire, British Empire, Rothshild remaining power and joy of Rock bankers during and after the war.

I am 100% sure Obama will let Europe and Russia and China to fight this out before appearing in Europe as saviors. It is a tradition USA has observed in WWI and WWII- let the others do the fighting weakening all involved, then come to the victory parade and debt issuance for rebuilding.

By the end of WWIII, China and USA will be allies. 25 years later- on the brink of nuclear war.

In the end, WWIII is necessary component to move reserve currency from USA PARTLY to China to form 2 reserve currency Empires co-ruling the world with all the infighting between them it includes becoming the norm of the day.

Remember the currency value decline line in Rome and Diocletian and Maximian as co-emperors. Same story is repeating in this debt increase cycle as USD is at the same point on value curve vs gold Roman denarius was vs silver. Co-empires, monetary, and so geopolitical, are coming to replace USA unipolar rule. USA and China. Rocks and Roths. In a few years, 5-6 at most.

Will Russia come back? Certainly..but that will take another 70-100 years so should not concern us. Not clear who will live in these territories then.

Cal Lawyer, can you comment on the Houston Grand Jury

investigation mentioned in this article:

I'm wondering if you have access to know what has been publicly released, and/or when it is likely to be closed. VT thinks in the next couple of months.

Maybe that is why we are trying to get wars and diseases well-established, before the people find out the truth of 9/11 and the fact 100 Congress people (and many others)took huge bribes to keep their mouths shut:

"Those WZ Dual and Triple Citizens that control DHS are gearing up for what looks to be a major war waged against the American People. As folks resist and start to fight back they will be labeled Terrorists. Don’t be fooled by this, the Real Terrorists are the Top Policy-Makers (Traitors and Infil-Traitors) that planned and executed the 9/11/01 Nuclear Attack on America and created DHS through the use of Nuclear Blackmail. They needed to create DHS to serve as their main mechanism of covering up by stopping and taking responsibility for all investigations. And they needed a big stockpile of cash to pay off approximately 100 Members of Congress, a number of top Federal Judges including five Supreme Court Judges, and numerous USG Officials. The modal payoff for top Officials has been reported to be 20 million USD, the current price for selling your soul and becoming a Traitor to America.

The current new Military High Command is the big unexpected new problem for the actual Planners and Perps. The US Military High Command is the entity that is in the process now of taking them a part at the seams. Stay tuned, this is going to get quite interesting and exciting in months to come, especially since the coverup payments have been reportedly stopped."

Re:Ancient Money

My fellow teacher came to me this morning and asked if I remembered talking to him last week about ISIS being a boogey man to scare the American people into more wars of aggression and as a possible excuse to get into Syria. I said yes and he proceeded to tell me about a radio program he heard on the way to school this morning.

He was listening to WSYR, a local Syracuse station, and several analysts were being interviewed for a news program. One of those being interviewed essentially said that the US government was behind ISIS in the Middle East and was using it as an excuse to go into Syria as well as scare the American public into action. He said that the news anchor continually interrupted her and was shocked that she would even insinuate that the American government would do such a thing. He ridiculed her at every turn even though she had statements, statistics, and other facts to back up her claims. Finally she was cut off for good and the host continued bashing her for even mentioning the thought, not bothering to entertain the possibility of any of the facts she stated being true.

Maybe enough listeners might actually use the brain that God gave them and begin connecting the dots.....but I doubt it.

On another note, an observation I have made while going about my daily business these past few weeks. I have noticed large amounts of Republican signage for our Congressional seat as well as county sheriff. Very few Democrat campaign signs are seen, even here in the Syracuse city. I am under no delusion that the election of a Republican will do much to save the area, but I find it interesting that Im seeing this in such a highly Democratic area, even on properties that previously displayed Democrat signs. This is especially true after witnessing the campaigns for the 2010 and 2012 congressional elections where it looked like everybody and his brother was a Democrat. Maybe the masses are starting to have an idea that something is wrong.

The MSM reporters all were given their walking orders years ago; only report what the government has pre-screened as approved for public distribution.

The interviewee in the case you described must have slipped through as an uninvited commentator. I'm surprised that the delay radio stations used didn't get used, and cut off the interview entirely--the tech person at the station must've gone to take a leak . . .

Ukraine to push Austrian bank RBI to first loss

Shares in Austrian banking group Raiffeisen Bank International slumped on Tuesday after warning that the turmoil in Ukraine and new laws in Hungary would push it to its first-ever yearly loss.

RBI said it would have to write off €1.5 - €1.7 billion ($1.9-2.2 billion) in bad debts this year and that it would end 2014 with a net loss of up to €500 million.

It blamed primarily "higher expected risk costs in Ukraine in light of ongoing political tensions" and proposed Hungarian legislation forcing banks to compensate borrowers for interest rate rises.

Shares in RBI, which has some 14.6 million customers in 15 central and eastern European markets including Ukraine and Russia, were last trading down 9.15 percent in Vienna at €17.885.

Vladimir Putin will attend EU-Asia summit in Milan

UPDATED: An Italian government official has confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the EU-Asia summit in Milan next month, an unexpected decision that is said to have irritated European institutions.

"He has confirmed he is coming," an Italian government official told AFP on Wednesday.

The decision came amid ongoing tensions between Russia and the EU over the conflict in Ukraine and has reportedly caused alarm among EU institutions, La Repubblica reported.

A message was reportedly sent to EU governments from Brussels on Tuesday saying: "Tell us how to manage the presence of Putin in Milan."

The summit, which is held every two years, is due to take place on October 16th and 17th.

The Russian president was among the 55 leaders invited to the event in the spring, in line with protocol.

As the situation in Ukraine worsened, Italy's Foreign Minister Federica Mogherina reportedly reiterated the invitation during a meeting with Putin in Moscow in July.

The meeting infuriated leaders of some eastern European countries, including Poland, who attempted to block Mogherini's rise to the coveted role of EU foreign policy chief in late August.

The EU-Asia summit is expected to focus on sustainable growth and security, although Putin's attendance and the Ukraine crisis are likely to dominate proceedings.

Italy expects the summit to be attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who normally takes a lead in western contacts with Putin, British Prime Minister David Cameron and Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, among others.

Malaysia will be among the countries represented at the summit. The government there is still investigating the July downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 from skies above Ukraine in which 298 people died.

This summer has seen claims of incursions into Ukraine by regular Russian troops and a sharp spike in the numbers of people dying in the conflict.

According to the UN Human Rights Council, the death toll ran at 11 people per day from mid-April to mid-July, spiked to 36 a day in the month after that and reached a peak of 42 a day before a September 5 ceasefire.

More than 3,500 people have now died since the crisis erupted early this year following the election of a pro-European government in Ukraine and Russia's subsequent annexation of Crimea.

Meanwhile, €30 million worth of assets belonging to Arkady Rotenberg, a judo partner and long-term ally of Putin, were seized in Italy on Tuesday.

Jim Rickards: Why gold’s

Jim Rickards: Why gold’s going down, gold manipulation, the latest on Ukraine/Putin

“To me, the significance of the ceasefire is that Putin’s getting what he wants. In other words, this is not a case where Putin has backed off or backed away; I think the markets have interpreted it that way…The sanctions are not working. Putin not only has not been punished, he’s actually getting a lot of gains. The reason there’s a ceasefire is because the Ukrainian government forces had pretty much gone into full retreat…”

“If you don’t have any gold, this could actually be a very good entry point. If you have some gold but want more, again same thing – it’s a good entry point.”

Mr. Rickards goes on to explain that the reason gold is going down is because the dollar has gone up. Gold is the inverse of the dollar.
