Brent Johnson has been a friend of the site for about a decade now and it's always fun to get his take on current events and the markets, in general. To that end, this week's Thursday Conversation does not disappoint.
Again, Brent is a terrific money manager and analyst and you can find more about his services and interact with him by visiting his website. If you have access to Twitter, you'll also find that he's a tremendous follow there, too.
For this podcast, Brent and I discuss a multitude of topics but most of the discussion stems off of these three points:
- The current state of the US$ in terms of the Dollar Index
- Bretton Woods and the closing of the gold window in 1971
- How a drain of confidence in the US impacts the dollar going forward
Again, though, there's much more in between so please be sure to follow along closely.
Many thanks to Brent for his time. I'm certain you'll benefit from listening to this podcast.
