Thursday Conversation - Brent Cook and Joe Mazumdar of Exploration Insights

30

We've known Brent Cook for quite a few years now. His work at Exploration Insights has always been extraordinarily valuable and he's been consistently willing to share his knowledge and experience with us here at TFMR.

But it's time for Brent to move toward retirement and Joe Mazumdar is taking control of the day-to-day operations at Exploration Insights. So today accomplishes two things:

  1. You get to "meet" Joe and then hear from both him and Brent regarding the current state of the mining shares and the mining sector as a whole.
  2. I'd asked you all to submit names for the usual "lightning round" and Joe and Brent patiently addressed each and every one.

You've heard me describe the year ahead as a bucking bull...and it will be quite volatile. More than ever, you need quality information if you are going to successfully navigate and profit from the mining sector. One of the most valuable research sources available to you is Exploration Insights. Be sure to consider a subscription to their service.

Thanks again to Brent and Joe for being so generous with their time and knowledge. I think you will greatly enjoy this podcast and you'll also find it to be very helpful and informative.

“I don’t know if silver is used in Solar”

TF, love your site, but I turned this interview off when I heard "I am not sure how much silver is used in Solar Panels". All researchers in precious metals should know this.

Great interview!

My only disappointment was that the word "platinum" was never used. I'll take that as BULLISH for platinum!

Silver Slayed

Another Friday woodshed slaughter.. boy is this getting old.

Nice to see my SILJ calls will all expire worthless today lol, was unable to get sell orders filled all week given the current kryptonite status of silver as portrayed by TPTB..

oh well. done gambling for a while. just gonna kick my feet up and watch things unfold at this point. Happy with my Phys stack, no need to add right now- but I'll certainly still be adding to OneGold and BTC during any violent dips, because reasons.

April 2013 and Late 2008

The morning of the day QE was announced, gold was down significantly, I am thinking 50 back when it was 3 digit. It was up ~50 at end of day after announcement and if my memory is correct HUI had a 15% reversal to the upside.

Back then it was generally thought the Fed wanted gold to start the new news announcement rally from a lower point but now we understand better the banks had their own problem to solve with the unbacked futures shorts.

It is not just the metals market that's corrupted, just about everything is corrupted. We know fixed income, the biggest market, is corrupted, eg manipulated, because the Fed tells us where it wants to take interest rates .

If anybody laughs at you for saying markets are manipulated, remind them of how people react to what a Fed Chair says about rates and everything else. We should know that the reporters questions are submitted in advance at Fed meeting press conferences. Powell knows exactly whats coming

Because in just 10 minutes...

Everyone wanted to dump their "silver" and now what had been a steady climb is reset 2% lower. Price falls 60¢ between 7:40 and 7:50 CT

Anyone else extremely aware that this is "A Three Day Weekend" and that for a decade people have been forecasting the crash would come over a 3 day weekend????

.......and two days later.....Biden/Harris???

Craig remember April 2013 when the bankers all visited the White

Shortly thereafter we got the price set lower to stem the exit of physical. Perhaps these price resets seems to set the table for the Great Corona Stimulus of2021, curtailing sentiment so as not to allow too much metal offtake?

Everyone can breathe easy now

Everyone can breathe easy now, knowing that JPM made 12.1 BILLION dollars for the fourth quarter.

Jan 15, 2021 - 8:50am

A couple upticks in the POSX

And all of the commodities get taken to PoundTown with COMEX silver, of course, getting the worst of it. Now a full dollar off of the highs last evening that followed Biden's speech.
