Thursday Conversation - Chris Vermeulen of The Technical Traders

These are crazy times and if you're attempting to make some fiat via trading, you need all the help you can get. To that end, it was great to get acquainted today with Chris Vermeulen of The Technical Traders.

If you're not familiar with Chris' work and his service, you can find all that you need to know by visiting his website: https://www.thetechnicaltraders.com

Over the course of this call, I ask Chris to discuss:

  • His methods and strategies for identifying trading opportunities
  • The discipline he applies in finding a trade, sticking with it or taking profits
  • His current "Best Asset Now" and why

But there's a whole lot in between, too, so please take time to give this podcast a thorough listen. You're certain to learn something new.

Many thanks to Chris for sharing his valuable time today.

Just keep watching the charts GoldHermit!

Once you get enough time watching charts and study the basics of TA, you will start to see and feel things from them. Just like those 3D posters 20+ years ago where you looked almost cross-eyed at them, and then 3-dimensional objects popped out at you :)

I agree with your comment on fundamentals also.

Hi Deacon Those are beautiful coins. I don't think I've ever

see real silver coins that small. Back in the 1970's the Mexican centavo coins werethe smallest coins, tiny bits of aluminum. I used them for target practice, painting them orange and taping them to a cardboard backing for 100 yard 22 fire. Around 1/4 MOA.

But real silver at the gram level. Wow. That makes a Roosie like a cart wheel. My preference is the 1 ounce and if it comes to trading or bartering the Constitutional silver should work

Holy crap edit. Those are Canadian coins Shame on me for not ever having seen these before. Our small change was silver back in the 1950-60's. Dimes quarters halves and $1 dollar

Admittedly I love the long slog, the hard course. It builds character. And blisters.

Nice change

Thanks Turd.

That made a nice change from the usual subject matter.

May 6, 2020 - 6:18pm

Just noticed Turd's tweet

This statement from the Bloomberg article Craig tweeted simply takes the air out of my sails as a trader.

"The bank [HSBC] has reported metals trading revenues averaging $215 million a year in the past three years."

How do I get in on the action of making fiat trading metals without being a manipulator and colluder like they are, with big fat accounts to trade with, and the wink and nod from the CFTC about position limits?

@ Billhilly,
You can alsways watch Charlie on Youtube if you miss him too much:

May 6, 2020 - 6:16pm

Then I can take my 10 ounce bars and slice them into spare change.

You're working too hard reinventing the wheel. Use one of these for 1.3 grams of pure silver (equivalent)

Or one of these for 1.1 grams of pure silver (equivalent)

May 6, 2020 - 5:57pm

Thanks Turd for Chris

I always enjoy listening to him. Sorry he isnt more positive on silver and the small to medium caps.

Thank you...

Thanks for being generous with your time. I have studied TA, but only up to a point. Hopefully, I will learn more. As Ralph Acampora once told me in our offices...

Fundamental analysis tells you what to buy or sell, TA tells you when.

May 6, 2020 - 4:38pm

Right on Chris...

...thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us ! Welcome !!!!

Missing Charlie...

May 6, 2020 - 4:08pm

Hey everyone thanks for listing, and thank again Craig!

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in this crazy time... Happy Trading!

Chris is always a good listen and Eric seems to take a fancy to him also. Next mystery guest, perhaps, George Gammon?

Now to put my ears on!
