Thursday Conversation - Willem Middelkoop

77

Here's another "Thursday Conversation" that is recorded and posted on Wednesday. Maybe it's time to rename these weekly podcasts? Either way, if you're interested in what might happen next...aka The Big Reset...be sure to listen to this discussion as Willem literally wrote the book on this subject.

More info on Willem, his fund and a link to a free download of "The Big Reset" can be found here: https://www.cdfund.com/en/

For today, I had planned to focus primarily upon the current state of the global monetary system and what will replace it when it eventually fails. However, the events of this week in the global gold market created the need to address that situation first.

All in all, this is a very helpful podcast from a very informed and wise source. Please give it a thorough listen.

re yesterday in gold

This from Ronan Manly explains things in a straight-forward and understandable manner.

https://www.bullionstar.com/blogs/ronan-manly/lbma-colludes-with-the-com...

And to think that there are people who openly admit that they don't know what a bullion bank is. I'm not sure how anyone could pompously consider themselves an "expert" without recognizing this simple, basic fact.

Now is the time...

With so much production shut down, now is the time to buy rounds and bars directly from miners. Help to push the Crimex Granny over the cliff.

because I bitch about Globex almost daily

It's only fair that I post charts like this one, too, on the rare occasions that they appear.

Jeffrey Snider Initiates Video Podcast

Alhambra Investments just posted the first of an intermittent video discussion similar to a Macrovoices session. Snider's co-host is Emil Kalinowski Cayman Island CFA who has a @MoneySenseRadio show. The benefit of this combo is that Snider frequently expects that the reader is fluent in finance-ese; Kalinowski pushes him to explain his thoughts more clearly. As always Snider is deep under the sink dissecting Collateral and Repo plumbing.

S&P plunge into the close

An 80 point plungarama in about 12 minutes.

Why? See below:

NEW: Bernie Sanders WILL vote for the coronavirus bill as written BUT ONLY if GOP senators drop their demands, he just told me.

"I cannot at the last minute allow some right wing senators try to undermine the needs of workers and think they are going to get away with that.” https://t.co/XA2LbzvijE

some perspective on $6T

How much is $6 trillion?

If Christoper Columbus came to America in 1492 and burned a pile of cash worth $20,000...then burned another a minute later, and another, 60 piles an hour, every hour of every day, 24/7, through the centuries...it still wouldn’t amount to $6 trillion.
