Long Term Cigarette Storage how to?

So you got gold, got silver, got ammo, got smokes?

Cigarettes are still fairly cheap and easy to get. As we've all heard, they are one of the best small trade currency in a true crisis. I saw this in Argentina, can only imagine they'd be even more widely accepted here in the states. So, how do you keep em fresh? Do they keep in a freezer assuming they're in a sealed package? I have been pointed to several online discount dealers by smoking friends, cartons available now for under 20 for most major brands, but no way that will last.

I buy the 6oz Good Stuff pipe

I buy the 6oz Good Stuff pipe tobacco bags. Each bag makes about 200 cigarettes. With papers and filter tips, you're looking at $9 a carton.

The bags are sealed, I keep them in a cool dry place. I don't smoke anymore, but I keep five bags on hand for barter situations down the road. If it comes to that (and I pray it doesn't), I don't figure anyone will be checking their smokes for expiration dates.

Absolutly don't freeze coffee or tobacco

Freezers are very bad for oils and flavors. Cigar tobacco was skipped on the tax hikes. I use Smoker Friendly mild in the 1 pound bag that lasts me for a month and I was a 2 pack a day smoker. I'm not sure that I smoke less but I ain't complaining. My habit now costs me under $30.00 per month with papers and filters included instead of $100.00 plus before. I know a lot of folks are looking at or have a Food saver system. Get the jar lid sealer that works on mason jars. I like the wide mouth jars. But with coffee and Tobacco you are better off using a cool dark spot rather than a freezer.

I agree on taste being

I agree on taste being secondary, but am concerned about outright breakdown. I've been told that 6 months is about it. Unlike cigars, the cigs don't "plume" nicely :P

Pipe Tobacco

Ever since the tax increase on rolling tobacco in 2009, I switched to a fine cut, virginia blend of pipe tobacco. Stokkebye Norwegian blend is execellent. Since the pipe tobacco is moist anyway I don't mind leaving it in a plastic bag in a dark place as it slowly dries out making it perfect for a tube machine. A month supply usually runs about $40-$50.

Truth is, if an addict needs a fix it won't matter how old, dried out or stale the cigarette is. It could be half smoked and dried in the sun after a storm and I would happily partake.

Make you own Cigs for 10 cents each

First the Weed: I like D&R Tobacco https://www.ryomagazine.com/tobacco.htm

Where to buy https://pipesandcigars.com/daandrypito.html and

https://www.lilbrown.com/

MYO cigarettes are made with an injector . I like the Top Top-O-Matic T2. I bought mine at Lil Brown

A good book:  https://www.amazon.com/Benefits-Tobacco-William-Campbell-Douglass/dp/9962636450/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1308496649&sr=8-1=679

Google "the health benefits of nicotine" (lower rate of senility for one).

Store your MYO cigs in a tightly sealed pint mason jar.

I'm S.W. Idaho and the story I followed is it was grown indoors

I think it's doable I've been told tobacco can be raised in Ohio so I think its worth a shot at trying.
