I agree with those who say its important to hold a basket of Yukon miners.and now we get a chance to buy then again at bargain prices.

Most of my Yukon explorers are taking a pretty good hit this morning. It was mentioned on another board that Brent Cook issued a "sell" on wlv.v yesterday; NOT due to fundamentals, but due to the general market climate plus the issue with labs being so far behind in their reporting of drill results for Yukon explorers. Can anyone confirm this? I don't subscribe to Brent's letter, but it makes sense that we would see a sell-off across the board since the Yukon investor/speculator community is fairly small, and do act like a herd, so when a "sell" goes out it snowballs across the landscape.

Those are just my pre-coffee thoughts this morning. Looks like some stink bids are going to be filled for those of us who are stocking up for next season.

Eric, onboard with GPD

As you know this one is one of my faves, I believe I may have been the first to bring it to the board quite a while ago. Clearly, you've got great taste in Yukon gold miners :-0)

The Brewery and Grew Creek projects and CEO Bill Sheriff are the biggest reasons to own some.

Lucky you, you own it at a much more favorable pps than I... I'd add to my position down here but fiat is too tight, dang. But I do own a decent number of shares and am convinced of the merits of just being extra patient with this one.

I think it's going to be a very special performer for us.

Another swing and a miss in the Yukon

Smash Minerals is today's casualty. Sold mine 3 weeks ago, along with all the rest of my tiny Yukoners. Kept KAM and GPD a while longer, but then sold them too. I just don't want to be there anymore.

I'm still holding GPD because

I'm still holding GPD because my losses are minimal, however, looking back, I should have sold when it was well over $1.00 as I would have made some nice profits, but of course I didn't. I do believe in this company though and have no issues holding on. Smash is another story though and I'm glad I never bought in because what a train wreck that has been. Kaminak smacked down constantly as well. If the fundos are still there, and I see no reason they aren't, Kaminak is definitely worth keeping an eye on though.

Yukoners

It's not that I hate these companies, it's just that for my portfolio as a whole I've made a big call that I'd rather be heavier and heavier in producers and/or ones with a definite deposit that is under development, and lighter and lighter in the exploration juniors. So, several pet names have had to go, and more will go as we move forward.

Of the Yukoners I mentioned, GPD most closely fits the criteria for what I would keep, but I decided to let it go anyway. Maybe I buy it back someday.

The Yukon is certainly not

The Yukon is certainly not living up to its hype for sure. ATC's tiger was a bit of a disappointment today, although it is secondary to Nadaleen which is their main focus now. I think Kam will eventually be a winner as well as Gpd. Gpd will be a producer for sure and they have no less than three 43-101's coming out before the end of this year, and still oodles of assays to report. I'm sure everyone was expecting blockbuster results from every set of assays reported , but that's just not how it usually works. Some of the beaten down ones like Pex, Ntr, Ssh and the likes could still hit big, just not this year by the looks of it.

The majors will come in soon.

The majors will come in soon. That is why I am still holding the few Yukon plays that I do have. Eager to hear what else GPD has coming for 43-101s.

Keep an eye on Western Copper (WRN)

I have been in and out of Western Copper for over a year and I think I am jumping back into this play. They just spun off two of their other properties so they could concentrate on their Casino Property and they also changed their name to Western Copper and Gold. Which is great because they were being punished for being a strictly copper play when they have 8-10 million ounces of gold besides the 5 billion lbs. of Copper. The 1st four years of production are sick. Look for this company to be bought out within the next 6 months. I have a feeling the potential buyer did not want the other two properties and that is why they separated the Casino Project!! Buy Now, anything around $2 is a STEAL!!!

GPD

A good update........some serious drilling. Just try and keep this baby down!

To date, the company has completed:

  • Six core holes for more than 2,000 m on its previously undrilled Harlan project;
  • Six additional core holes for almost 1,400 m on its Antimony project;
  • Eight core holes for approximately 1,200 m on its Eureka project;
  • 18 core holes for more than 3,600 m at its Clear Creek project;
  • 20 core and 50 RC holes on its Grew Creek project;
  • Over 240 combined holes at Brewery Creek as described above;
  • Extensive soil and stream sediment surveys over much of its expansive landholdings in the Yukon.

In total, the company has drilled over 350 holes totalling over 65,000 m to date in 2011. All results are still pending from the Harlan, Antimony and Eureka programs; approximately 50 per cent of the Grew Creek drill program; and over 50 per cent of the continuing Brewery Creek drill program, where year-round operation continues with four core rigs and one reverse circulation rig. In addition, results from all soil and stream sediment sampling programs are pending.

More interest in the Yukon miners today

Some of the better moving juniors today were the Yukon players. Atac , Northern Freegold , Golden Predator, Kaminak did ok too. of these that I follow. and even though Gold wasnt the star performer today ,it was silver.

Golden Predator especially , ....made a nice bounce off the 70 cent bottom.

I read an article recently

I read an article recently that stated that this was Yukon wide. They have overwhelmed labs with assays from the Yukon. Bill Sheriff of GPD has stated this.

Here is the link.

https://www.stockhouse.com/Columnists/2011/Oct/21/Yukon-gold-juniors-blo...

The Sheriff (I figure, folks call Colombia and Arkansas metals staker Bob Allen “Bullet,” ergo, I can call Bill ‘The Sheriff.’) continues, “The labs are still so backed up and when they do release results they are not necessarily in the order drilled or even complete holes. This means that in my estimate we have yet to see 80% of the drill results, maybe 90% from the Yukon this summer.”

Darn

Wish I had copied it when I saw it. Now I can't read it anymore either. All I did was look up a quote on Kaminak on Google Finance, and there it was, and I read it no problem. Now it's gone from there.

Must have been an error to let that one out without the subscriber block for a few days. Sorry.

Basically they ran down the whole list of Yukon players, and for each of them talked about how far the stocks have fallen, talked about whether they were able to raise any money last year, and what the drilling plans were for 2012. It was pretty good. I remember thinking, "Cool. These are usually blocked." Oh, well. no
