North Korea’s last round of tests, conducted in May 2009, appear to have included a “super-EMP” weapon, capable of emitting enough gamma rays to disable the electric power grid across most of the lower 48 states, says Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, a former CIA nuclear weapons analyst and president of EMPact America, a citizens lobbying group.
North Korea tests Super EMP
That photo really gave me a laugh SilverTree. Is that one little light in NK Kim Jong Il's VCR?
Also, where exactly does one test a "super-EMP" without screwing up the whole neighborhood?
I think it's Kim's fake Viagra factory.
This is the premise of the book, One Second After. Great read.
Will definitely make you want to re-check your preps....
On a serious note, if you want to prep your electronic equipment from EMP's either man-made or solar...it would be wise to store them in faraday cages.
My wife when she was six got meningitis and completly lost her hearing. She has two Cochlear implants (one on each side). An EMP would fry her implants. Police tassers too.
If North Korea ever tried anything like a EMP attack on U.S. we would obliterate them in response asap if we knew for sure it was them.
They might get a good shot in initially but our sub's or ships elsewhere would absolutely end their future as a rogue country.
If we knew who it was that set off the bomb. No guarantee of that.
