I have ten of those RCM bars without the ebay on them. I like those bars, albeit not as much as my Engelhard 10 oz loaf bars. I have a few of those Sunshine bars too. Nice work!
I thought the radial lines on the new maples might reduce the spotting issue. But I see some starting on the new style maples, oh well.
Price up 50 cents since yesterday. .. interesting
You really shouldn't care about the milk spots.
It's just soap residue from the polishing process of the blanks.
Rub them with a soft pencil eraser and the spots are gone; don't worry, the soft eraser won't scratch or damage the silver.
Finally, something I know about! ;-)
DON'T use the pink eraser on the back of a pencil, has added pumice abrasive and will scratch.
Look for a white vinyl type eraser "Magic Rub", art gum or kneaded erasers are O.K.?
So, I had a bit of time to trek out to the remote deep storage.
Gathered my gear for the severe weather phenomenon known to the area
and the rugged terrain.
Navigated past the poisonous snakes,
and predatory groundhogs.
Disabled the traps
and donned the hazmat gear to safely remove my stash...
and fondled some random things...
and decided that the VERY last thing out of this random assortment of bars, rounds, and coins that I would sell...
A tube of average circulated silver dollars, mostly Peace with a few Morgans mixed in. It was the best of deals (at spot); it was the worst of deals (highest spot point buy price I've done).
But as we hit certain price-points or scenarios, and some 'tranches' are destined to go,
What will be the very last bit of PM's you'd hold in your hands?
2016 Congo 25KF 5 Troy Oz .999 Silver African Lion (In Mint Cap)
I bought one for spot and would happily buy more. To those that know them, they may bring a premium. My LCS couldn't sell it fast enough.
at the LCS. 2016 Panda for $24 (I have never seen the premium on a panda that low since silver was $6/oz). Two New Orleans Morgans (grade XF+) at $20. Wish I had more to spend.
The last piece of silver I'd sell is my 1986 five ounce Singapore 'Double Dragon' coin.
I'm on vacation and got these today from an LCS:
Two Englehard Prospectors
A two ounce Pearl Harbor
Six one-ounce bars
I hope my usual LCS has silver when I get back
Well my Pay Day Loan guy came through with a nice little stash. Highlights are two 2003 $10/ one ounce silver Norfed Liberty Dollars. They are proof like.
Two Morgan silver dollars 1883O unc and 1890 in vf.
A 2014 Silver Eagle and 1964 quarter.
ps. I tried to insert a picture from my desk top but can't figure out how to do it. Duh!
I use Imgur.com to upload images from my phone to my computer to here. Once you get to the Imgur web-page click on the blue "upload images" bar at the top of the page. A box will appear. I use the "drag and drop" to get an image from my computer to Imgur. Then click on the green "start upload". Your image should appear after it's uploaded. I have a Macbook and two-finger the mousepad to click on "copy image address". Then click on the computer monitor symbol (here) and paste the address into the "URL" box. I then click on "width" and usually use '600'. Then click "OK".
And your image will show up, like below.
Here are 244 quarters I got yesterday from my usual LCS (now that I'm back from vacation).
Ok here is the Norfed coins I bought yesterday and a big thanks to swampman for teaching this old dog a new trick!
Been getting some sweet Morgans and Peace dollars my latest visits -- for cull prices. I hope it keeps up. Tomorrow I hope to get some scratch cinnamon rolls for a worn Morgan.
Nice catch, Silverwood! What did you pick up the Norfeds for? Just wondering if I got a good price....
I'd like to get more, as '69 said, they're not made anymore, and a lot of um were seized, I understand.
How do you talk a LCS into saving coins for you? I guess it has to be worth while to the shop. What's fair to give for finder's fee? Don't have much experience there, but it seems like a good idea.
Thanks in advance!
Frodo: "I wish it need not have happened in my time," Gandalf: "So do I. And so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
Angry Citizen, I got them from a Payday Loan guy who made a loan using them for collateral based on melt value.( which was probably lower at the time). I guess the other party defaulted on the loan. I picked them up for $20 each when spot silver was about $19. The Pay Loan guy has no interest in coins but knows his loan business. When I got those two Norfeds they were part of a small collection which included two Morgan silver dollars one silver american eagle and a 1964 quarter I gave him $105 for the whole deal!
powder keg reloaded and looking for the right entry. Thinking I may have to try a paper trade this month...the 2016 kookaburra and koala have officially sold out at the perth mint so expect to see a steady rise in price from here...the pcgs 70 koala has moved from $39 - 43 - 48.99 with only two left at that price in the past month.
Kookaburras are doing just about the same. anyhow glad to keep the numismatic bullion collection growing. all the best this week. sending a WARM welcome to august 2016.
@ p4f ~ i hear you bro. great insight to the paid membership. might have to stick my head behind the curtain as this fall will surely have a need for fireworks protection.
Last week, the United States Mint revealed the release date of Sept. 8 for the 2016-W Standing Liberty Quarter Centennial Gold Coin.
Today, Aug. 9, the agency announced its mintage, ordering limit, specifications, packing and shipping timeline.
As for limits, no more than 100,000 will be sold and ordering will be restricted to 1 coin per household. The coin’s specifications include:
only ONE each per household! That is rough. Going to have to sign my mom up with the mint ;D
I will be ordering this the day it goes on sale. $475 for a quarter oz of gold that they are only making 100k. The Liberty Dime is fantastic. This quarter looks awesome and the Walking Lib has always been a favorite in silver, so it is a no brainer in gold. thanks for the reminder AG
Lost my entire previous post. Saturday I visited a local dealer who has been in business 60 plus years. The current owner 20 plus. His shelves/cases were pretty barren overall. On the bottom shelve I discovered a ugly extruded bar showing 10.09 OZ. I bought even though the bar was weakly struck because the owner has a good eye for BS. When I got home I did a interweb search...................................
So cool did someone pay $50.00 and OZ for this beauty 36 years ago. The history is too cooool. My bar is marked G43 bet there were less than 500 produced? I cant find any past #50. High prices futures fraud this bar has it all. I will hold onto this one.
