2014's "record" silver sales in perspective
Compared to global silver mining production and silver used in 1964 to produce dimes, quarters and half dollars
Smaulgld, I enjoyed your post and I wanted to ask your permission to let me re-post it on my supply/demand forum. The silver demand for coinage is a great comparison for perspective. I would also like to point out that it is my understanding that the US Mint produced 1964 dated coins for several years after 1964 to give the illusion of silver coins will circulated along side the cupronickle slugs they were now producing.
You may repost it on your supply demand forum. The US mint produced 1964 dated coins well into 1965-in the post there is a link to what Lyndon Johnson had to say about it IN 1965. Also there is a chart showing the mintages of 1964 dated coins which are too supersized for one year's production
