“You ain't been around” all that long there, whippersnapper.
Buddy Holly was “great”.
It was “great” that some Canucks thought so as well, enough so to pay a tribute to Buddy Holly on a single, waaaay “back in the day”, and caught the attention of these eyes of Rex.
So please excuse me if when I think of “great” Canadian bands, Rush isn't the first, second, or even third name that pops into my mind, as I have admired Chad and Randy's work for decades, even before their Wheatfield Soul album was getting airplay and gaining them popularity in America.
I still have a very unique (split) album of theirs, (A Wild Pair) purchased long ago for one clownbuck and ten bottle caps (Yes, I am still thankful and thinking of you Mom. R.I.P.)
For those who still cannot guess who 'Ol Rex is referring to, perhaps they might recognize same by way of this reincarnation:
BTO - Let It Ride
Bachman Turner Overdrive - You Aint Seen Nothing Yet
There are some stunningly beautiful sentiments and lyrics in this rather slow song if you can stick with it.
Lynn Miles - Brave Parade ( + lyrics 2001)

WTF ! Now you tell us !!!
When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch
Well my mama told me there'll be days like this
When you don't need to worry
there'll be days like this
When no one's in a hurry
there'll be days like this
When all the parts of the puzzle start to look like they fit
Then I must remember there'll be days like this
When you don't need an answer
there'll be days like this
When you don't meet a chancer
there'll be days like this
When you don't get betrayed by that old Judas kiss
And I must remember there'll be days like this
When everyone is up front and they're not playing tricks
When you don't have no freeloaders out to get their kicks
When it's nobody's business the way that you wanna live
Well my mama told me there'll be days like this
When no one steps on my dreams
there'll be days like this
When people understand what I mean
there'll be days like this
When you ring out the changes of how everything is
Well my mama told me there'll be days like this
Well my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Well my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Well my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this
