New development in converting carbon dioxide into hydrocarbon fuel?
Wowwy! the implications are mind boggling! I find it interesting that gold, energy and Co2 converge into this one technology. If taken down a logical course this would certainly place some demand on gold supplies if this technology ever took off in large scale. I imagine the greenies will wet themselves with glee.
Taking that idea to a logical extension, would governments "concerned" about global warming use immanent domain to confiscate privately held gold to make these techno wonders "for the good of the people"? Chilling.
Sure, take the gold from the citizenry to 'save the planet' at fair market value of course (what ever they say it is), then after all the gold is rounded up the CONsensus of 'scientists' declare it's all good, crisis averted, oopsy our models were off, BTW thanks for the shiny.....suckers.
It's a bit conspiratorial, but if this technology is as efficient and beneficial as it seems, what's to stop gov.'s from confiscating our hard won gold? Then claim they're doing it to save us from ourselves, as we are just a bunch of consuming, polluting, evildoer's. Add to that the fact that very few hold physical gold and would not be affected, holders of gold would have virtually no support.
Totally dude! it would be us against the self entitled, gold sucking, zombie mob.
They'll be saying "Screw your constitutional rights, hand over the shiny you filthy, greedy rich capitalist pig! All of humanities' existence hangs in the balance and you want to keep your 'precious metals', you callous cold hearted SOB!"
But they'll never get mine, darn boating accident and all, what a bummer
