Hi all. Much like my Nevada post and the Yukon post from awhile back in the gold miners forum I am interested in starting a conversation on Platinum and Palladium miners.
I am interested in nibbling on some small positions. I've come up with a short list and was wondering what others thought about these stocks.
Polymet Mining Corp.
North American Palladium
Platinum Group Metals
Prophecy Platinum Corp.
I discovered there is a big deposit up in Northern MN that Polymet and Duluth Metals have stakes in the land up there. Polymet has a JV with Glencore who have invested about 118 million and own about 1/3 of the shares. Bottom line is that there is a pretty large PGM deposit with copper, gold, cobalt, nickle, and of course platinum and palladium. I read that there could be a trillion in the ground there. I'll have to see if I can find that article.
Here is a recent article:
Here is the other article I spoke of.
Colossus has that nice deposit in Brazil.
Overall I have more research to do on these but this is for starters.
Thanks for participating in the conversation.
dont think there are ones for platimum and palladium.
There is SWC-still water mining
PLG doesnt produce anything yet and I think Soros bought shares in it in 2011
Palladium was the big winner the past three years as it grew and then held its gains but its miners got crushed along with the gold and silver miners
Silver and its miners still has to be the big winner in the next few years
I'm very new to this game, but I hold North American Palladium. It's been trading sideways since I bought.
Like I said I'm new to this game, but I went with the above because I bought at about a 2 year low in stock price, and they are a producer. If I understand correctly there's just not a lot of producers out there.
I've eyeballed Prophecy a few times, but in the end choose to buy some more phys. If you haven't seen this I've attached presentations from the Denver gold summit. I realize it's just a presentation that always has the best spin, but maybe there's some info here for you. A few of the miners you list give a presentation here.
