@Solsson: That sounds a bit

@Solsson: That sounds a bit like the title of a 1950s "B rated" horror movie.

Here is what I have in mind .....

"Solsson Viking Warrior Vs Spartacus Rex"

Now who should I cast as the leading lady?

Hahaha yes my post was a c-rated, my apologies to Spart, I missed the headline saying,

@ SOLSSON - It's Only HUMOR Dumba**! I just reacted to the last Spart post when he was sent off by Turd. I guess we all have a different sense of humor. Thumbs up for spelling my name correct at the first attempt, Norman and Green Lantern failed, and yes I like douchebag I might order one in a near future, a little bit pricey though.

I can put on a blond wig, someone in the office said that I looked a little bit like Lindsey Vonn. I must be careful thou when playing a pro-Am with Tiger Woods, if I bend over searching for my ball in the rough I might end up with a woodsian chorizo up my paté kitchen *lol*.

One thing is certain, Argentus Maximus may not make a speech after the fight is settled. It will be so enigmatic we all end up in different places. Some is heading for the near by cottage, ready to be served lunch, others run to the car park starting up their laptops waiting for a new post in setup thread telling them were the price ceremony will be held. A third group is calling a fibonacci number which leads to an asian escort service, "Yes hallo, me is Wee Bee-Loow Hyou "

Argentus speach, "Just stay put, price ceremony in 5min, cake is served right beside the podium" a door is kicked hard from inside the cottage, a woman is standing in the doorway with a big smile on her face shouting, "finally Argentus you make some sense" it's Lamenting Laverne with a big bottle of Champagne in her hand, ready to celebrate.

Have a nice weekend folks,

Oh, the fight was a big anticlimax, Solsson slipped and lost the grip of his ax that flew into the woods, never to be found again, Spart was so scared he fainted, but woke up just in time for celebration, now that was a cute Saturday morning story for ya.

Trader Dan on Gold

“I expect dips in the price of the metal to be bought since the conditions that have given rise to gold are still in place and do not look to be going away anytime soon.”

He's the guy the bugs love to hate, since he doesn't believe in any manipulation of the metals. I do think he has hit the nail on the head based on pure market psychology. Everyone now wishes they were long, awaiting a pullback which may come only from higher levels? I think this confirms AMs thinking. There is a lot of bearish sentiment in place during the formation of an ending diagonals at the lows.

Late Friday Night Charts Suggest Gold Bear Market is Now Over

Haven't posted for ages....!

Hey guys, I haven't been reading for ages.... I was super-dooper bullish on the miners at their lows like 12 months ago and that turned out pretty well for me. One stock I own is up > 500% now (its one Michael Belkin talked about in one of his recent interviews on KWN :) ).

I really don't know what to think of things at the moment.... I don't think the bear market is over, but I think we might get one final wash-out and still be flat for a bit, but really I am waiting to see some other markets break first. What I mean is that I am expecting something big, primarily in the currency markets (maybe the sovereign bond market?) over the next few weeks/month or two, to move the gold price. That being said, my rationale is also that people say "The miners lead the gold price higher", this I agree with. The miners have been on an absolute tear of late, so for them to pullback gold will have to go down, and with the Gold:Oil ratio where it is, either gold is going down or oil is up (or a combination of both). This will facilitate a big shake-out in the miners that might drift lower over the next 6-12 months, but I doubt the ones that have run up a lot will retest their lows (but they might!). Once the miners put in either 1. a higher-low or 2. a double bottom (but not a lower-low), then we can say the gold bull market has begun, but again, I really think you need, no MUST, be watching the Fx crosses! That being said, I think the smart money gets back in to the miners on this pull-back and the move will be pretty epic if you're in the right ones!!
So I guess my timeline is this
Gold Price: down soon in the next few weeks or month, drifts lower for 6-18 months. Unsure what will happen, but the Fx markets will be the thing to watch.
Miners: sell down soon for 6, but no more than 12 months, then a huge move higher after the pullback. This huge move WILL be the signal that the bear market is over and the bull-market has begun.

As you guys said, everyone is "bearish", that I agree with, but I'd really love to see another big washout in the gold price to get all the talking heads and speculators OUT of the market, and given the backdrop I think it is entirely possible.
In reality tho, I know no more than the next person, but this is what I think will happen.... Suffice to say I think that the next few years are going to be pretty rough, especially if you are in the wrong assets. Also, I now like silver way more than gold :) But again, I think we have one final washout before it rallies....

Best of luck boys and girls.

Lots of love.

P.S. Long lots of whisky too now... Got some really nice Signatory bottlings of some Scottish single malts.

RE: Oil

Agreed, but not yet. The ones I look at on my local exchange still have work to do in terms of carving out a bottom, but I do agree 100% with your hypothesis, oil and oil producers/explorers look very beaten-down and unloved. I don't think the oil price is going to rocket higher, but it'll be high enough (i.e. we might get a big deflation in other areas of the economy that make pulling out oil circa $60 USD prohibitive) to cause pain for some of the current/future producers/explorers. I really want to see what is going to happen with the currencies, something is coming, but I have no idea what. That being said I think maybe over the next 6-12 months will be time to be long oil/oil stoxx, but not yet.... E.G. WPL:ASX still looks very bearish technically, but might be a buy in my time-frame. Some others such as STO:ASX have been annhilated (too much debt), and again, have work to do (if they survive) to make the company a buy. The biggest question, again, I have for these things are the currencies along with the commodity price itself.

The other area(s) that I like are, again uranium and the base metals, ex-iron ore.

Best of luck sir!

#Laverne what a stare, it

#Laverne what a stare, it turned out that Spartacus Rex was a Norwegian brother so we fight the TPTB instead., haha one of the most serious threads on internet went into viking mode, I guess there is a hidden kid in us all, but lets get back to Gold.

#Just a regular guy welcome back long time no see.

Now the ultra long term is still up for grabs, in that the road is not yet paved there. But if that super B and C are to come, then the B could be an irregular, with B making new highs for the gold price, and the C being some kind of post cheap energy/post war/post inflation stagnation financial era. I just mention that. In particular, B could take a very long time to unfold.

When three respectable analysts say the same thing, then I listen very carefully. The chart and count is nothing short of spectacular. Imagine to time a sell at B, then a buy back at C, that would be very very profitable. Any ideas how to trade the down move from B to C? That's a tough one isn't it, maybe cash is debased/devalued during that time?

I don't know if I am going to trade the waves in between, maybe a sell soon, then a buy back at post summer solstice?

Oh it's Valentine's Day, a big heart for this thread!

Regular Guy Post

RG, can you tell us your opinion on the POG? A new low or just a test? Sounds like your judgment has been excellent. Just one comment. At the lows in August, 1976 the metal and the miners bottomed at the same time. I don't see that they led during that time period. All the best. BTW, I should probably change my handle from eclectic to clueless. Eclectic sounds rather pretentious. (:-)

Solsson....

If cash is debased or devalued, it doesn't equate that we would have a C down? Seems to me there would be a flight to the metals and the miners? I wish I could provide you with some answers. The problem is that at critical market turning points we always have the three trading enemies: doubt, fear and uncertainty. How many had the guts to sell short going forward from August, 2011? Especially when there were shouts about it being better to be years early than one day late. Yeah, if we had been on the inside, knowing the game plan going forward, we could have been short to the hilt and sleeping like babies at night.
