Word from multiple sources says RIO.v might be in play as a TO target. Now would be the time for this kind of talk as Co is ramping up gold production like nobody's business.
I checked the Lima exchange yesterday and RIO was trading a couple million shares. This blog: https://incakolanews.blogspot.com/ has a post suggesting that Goldfields is looking at acquiring RIO. Apparently they looked in September, but there were no further developments reported at that time.
Can't say for sure, but at more than 3 million shares traded today, it is certainly behaving like a company in play.
had another good day, and is poised to climb further this week. Scotia just issued a C$5.25 target, and another broker whom I don't remember had a target just a bit lower....Lima has been sleepy of late....
Capstone is the other broker, and they put a target of $5.00 on RIO.
Since the turn of the year, she has languished in the 3.72 - 3.84 range. I will need to see a break above 3.85 before getting too excited about these latest targets.
sorry - I had that wrong - the firm is Stonecap and the target price is C$5.10. Apologies.
strong base building going on at the 3.80 level....hit another new high of C$3.92 this week....once the consolidation phase is over, I see this moving into the mid-4s before the spring.
On February 3 Stonecap raised their target price from C$5.10 to C$5.80.
well, it had moved into the mid-4's but seems to have stalled out over the last 5 weeks or so. Anyone got a view on what is happening with this firm? I do not see much take-over talk in recent weeks. Any idea what may be holding it back?
