EBay is sucking more and more. I just got this email:
Dear ebay sucker:
As always, eBay is committed to bringing you amazing deals on gold and silver. However, to do so, we can no longer offer eBay Bucks for purchases from the Bullion category within Coins & Paper Money. This change will take effect October 1, 2011. To learn more about earning and redeeming eBay Bucks, visit the Frequently Asked Questions page. And remember that you can always tell whether an item qualifies for eBay Bucks by looking for the earn amount below the price on the item description page.
To review the updated eBay Bucks Terms & Conditions, please visit https://pages.ebay.com/rewards/terms.html.
We appreciate your eBay Bucks membership and hope you'll continue to enjoy the benefits provided by the eBay Bullion Center, including great savings and fast, free shipping from Featured Sellers—and eBay Buyer Protection for your purchases.
The eBay Bucks team
Bend over so we can stick it to ya!
I sent the following to all their featured and top sellers:
Ebay is screwing you
Because eBay will no longer offer eBay Bucks for purchases from the Bullion category within Coins & Paper Money, I will not buy any bullion products from you in the future.
Please let eBay know they have shot themselves in the foot again.
I loved this program back in the day, waiting to get 12, 16, 25% back from Gold and Silver purchases.
When you think about it, who the heck would discount the World's Best Currency?
I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did but obviously bummed to see it go.
Nice rant letter Hunter (shot themselves in the foot indeed)
I feel the same way. I stopped selling there in 09, stopped buying Sept. 2011. The eBay bucks offset the crazy prices the sellers sold at.
May eBay rot in hell with their outrageous fees.
I feel the same way, I racked up several thousand during Bing/MrRebates/ebaybucks. But if you look at thier wording "from the Bullion category within Coins & Paper Money." That means you can still catch rebates in all the other Categories in Coins Paper and Money. I see plenty of ASE in Coins:US, Maples & Perth in Coins:world , Even some bars in those categories( I bet you will see a whole lot more "bullion" in so called "other " catagories after Oct 1). So I believe Fleabay would still be worth a look.
