How about a third

How about a third perspective? That the religious side and the scientific side both have several things wrong when it comes to how we got to where we are today from millions of years ago.

se -you ever see a painting of adam and eve without bellybuttons

the 3rd perspective - ah scientists continually search for new things to learn better understand the universe. based on new findings they will re look at old things in an attempt to readjust the events. ADAPT. this isnt really possible through religious based scientific inquiries. like what if you discover Jesus was attacked by the romans because he was a cross dresser? or that the earth was flat or evolved around the sun? a witch!

never said it didnt happen. much discovery reasearch is done to disporve theories. consensus on certain scientific things is settled through the long process of testing. proving theories/facts presented. try this in organized religion.

perry is apparently a christian. so was referring to him/his paelo science views. galileo was persecuted by the church.. how do you think we discovered the earth wasnt flat or that the sun was infact not just a big shiny thiing in the sky?

The issue is...

Religion and science. The issue is that religion and science should be studied separately and should not be co-mingled. Whether creation did or did not happen is an orthogonal issue to the scope of science (the study of things that are testable in a lab, can be reproduced any time, or that follow certain laws of nature).

Religion and politics. The troubling thing is not the relationship between religion and science, but religion and politics. It is not an issue what Rick Perry chooses to believe in. But I take it as an issue when someone who is campaigning for political office using religion to boost his chance to get into office. That person is dishonest, and does not hesitate to use his religion as a tool for political ambition. I hope Christians can recognize that twisted ambition.

Disclaimer: I am a Christian and this is 100% my opinion only.

Um, sioux

Since you seem to be such an authority on "Evolution"...

Are you by any chance someone who believes in Darwinian Evolution in the way our schools and Universities "teach" it?

Did you happen to catch the Theory part in the Theory of Evolution?

Are you one of those who is trapped in a mental paradigm that stems from taking the creation out of whole cloth that is Darwin's Theory of "Evolution" at face value, and a settled "fact" of science?

Are you under the somewhat naive impression that the answer to this rather complicated notion is either "Evolution" or so called Biblical Creationism?

Don't we wish it were that simple.

Ain't it interesting how the

Ain't it interesting how the public discourse between republicans/democrats, conservatives/liberals always sets up this polar dichotomy of options. Pick A or pick B because they never want you to consider there is a choice C.
