Inflation rates for May 2011

Gathered from various sources in recent days:

Inflation rates (annualized), May 2011

Eurozone: 2.7%
UK: 4.5%
China: 5.5%
USA: 3.6%
Canada: 3.3% (April)
Brazil: 6.6%

The kids at PIMCO are not smoking cow paddies. While there is some month over month volatility to be expected in this data, the trend is clearly toward higher rates of official inflation in the months ahead. I think this will be true despite the apparent easing of commodity price increases in the last few weeks.
