Dried Out and Ready

LT #1 and I had a wonderful time at the U2 show Saturday night. I have a question for you, though. When was the last time you voluntarily stood in the rain? I did it for over 2 hours Saturday night and had a blast. Soaked and cold but happy. How The Edge managed to play in the downpour I have no idea. How Larry was able to keep metronomic time while soaking wet is a mystery.

Onto the task at hand. Another day with no "bipartisan deal" on the debt ceiling. Yawn. I do find it interesting, however, that every little headline or rumor is seized upon by The Cartel and the WOPRs and the PMs fall sharply. To me, there are three very important things for you to keep in mind:

1) The open interest numbers, particularly in silver, are still so low that it's going to be very difficult for a cascade/waterfall to develop. Unlike late April, silver contracts now reside in what are, primarily, very strong hands.

2) At the end of the day, the debt ceiling is going higher, probably to the tune of $2T or so. Again, from where will that money be coming??? Sure there will be some borrowing from willing lenders but the vast percentage will be from continuing QE.

3) We are headed into August and the typical, very strong seasonality of the PMs.

All of these combine to create a great atmosphere to buy the dips. Not every dip will be met with substantial FUBMs as there will be days when the EE will win. However, in the end, any metal bought today is going to worth substantially more in fiat by Labor Day. They will be worth even more by Halloween. They will likely be even higher still by Thanksgiving.

So, the next time the PMs drop sharply on some manufactured "news", don't panic. Just calmly step to the plate, point to the cheap seats and then park one right up The Cartel's batooty. TF

Kumanari, ..beautiful song. It brought tears. Thank you so much for posting it. ..........And regarding Jim Rogers, it *is* fun to watch him school the MSM interviewers. They truly do not get it. He is totally respectful but he doesn't let their nonsense stand. He just tells it.

George, EricO, GoodDr ...you are all correct of course in that NOW is the time to be accumulating these wonderful miner values. As someone who has only been 'collecting' for just under a year ..I cannot fathom how tired the rest of you must feel sometimes though ..with all of the manipulation games. I guess what I wonder is why we think it will ever change.. or anytime soon. I can't wrap my head around the reasoning here as to what's to suddenly stop them from playing the game any longer. Yes.. I know that as price advances (of the metals) that the shares will likely have to break free of the shorts at some point. ...I just worry that by that time there will be a new game in town to replace the shorting. ...Say ..nationalizing mines or taxing profits at an astromical rate. ...Of course I'm diversified in many countries but I can't just think that TPTB will sit by and allow us to reap any profits if they have anything to say about it.

If anyone could shed light on the possible/potential scenarios/outcomes of how the miners could end up being a win for us preppers... I'd love to hear some thoughts on this.

Totally agree. I think it might regress to being a somewhat tribal world, like we spent most of our history doing and I too have watched this thing regress with mounting horror, and i say how long can this comedy act, this kabuki act hold together.

And then one fine day it doesnt. These witless idiots in Washington want to be careful. It may be political theatre to dick with the debt limit of 64 consecutive years duration when you are a solvent country, but hard eyes are watching and are increasingly dismayed.

Make friends, get to know your neighbours, do something unexpected for them, its about defence, and strength in numbers, and buy a siren from one of those sites, sirens scare the shit out of interlopers. Friends, flare guns and sirens , hows that, hahaha

1/2 life

ZH said it best the other day with that one thread or comment about the 1/2 life of certain important events or deadlines or levels of debt, leverage etc.

Our whole system is very leveraged in a lot of ways and on the brink of some form of systemic collapse and our leaders are acting and governing in a very haphazard and illogical way the closer we get to these deadlines.

I've been referring to it as a multiplier(or multiple) effect for awhile and that's pretty much what I mean when I refer to that term. I'll try to dig up a article I read about time and that feeling that things are accelerating. Thus events in mankind are accelerating and it effects on the ability to reason and react are impaired etc. Pretty fascinating. Doing a search soon.

I know that sounds like time travel. It's not. It's more about Einstein's Theory of Relativity (I think, someone correct me) and the ability of space (time) to be flexible.

I recall reading on the old TF blog someone on here talking about cycles in nature/space and the 4th Turning or something like that. I think it's a book but I don't want to totally get it wrong on here.

You know who you are and what I'm talking about.

You know… I used to follow TF on ZH. Why. Because I have been a metals trader since 1998 & 1999. By 2005 I paid my student loans off. I have never been in debt, if I couldn’t afford it cash, I passed it by. I have owned a home, actually a ranch. The first time I was in debt – so to speak. I have developed a strategy over the years as the markets got weird to sell and buy – continuously accumulating until I saw a sign I should do otherwise.

And this forum / community grew, with religious fanatics, doomsayers, and people from Europe that want to dispel hatred on the United States [read my actual join date – need I say more?]. I look back on it all and cannot help to notice many are missing the point. I have my favorites, whether an anonymous hat tip or private message, I have my favs. The straight shooters.

I am anonymous, and prefer to be that way, and if that scares you, so be it. I am a single female, rockclimber, and hiker, and very independent. Sometimes I look around at all the bullshit and wonder if anyone can back up their claims. Actually I don’t just wonder; I can tell the difference between bullshit and fact. I like people that tell it as it is, I like canned bacon, I like people that are willing to share what it is they know, I like people that tell things as they are, I cannot think of anyone else I want in my fox hole. We are all here to learn, have compassion, and grow. Yet I see an exemplary opposite from the some of the posts… Standing on a teeter totter, arguing with useless trolls such as M…. I mean really people? Do you really think you are going to succeed and persevere? I do not think you understand the powers at play.. You are better than that, step up to the plate.

Lou – I am sincerely sorry to hear you loss. It may not count for anything at the moment, but there is legacy – it will come. Be strong.

@maravich Just a gut feeling on the 14th Amendment. That way it makes everyone look good and they don't have to raise taxes or cut spending. Then the impeachment is the bigger show. More like the challenge of the interpretation of the Constitution.

Plus the fact that Steve King etc. are coming out and saying they may impeach him. Just connecting the dots bro.
