trying to ban Kratom again...

Yesterday the FDA issued a warning about a plant called Kratom. In the warning they state loads of misinformation about Kratom citing that it "could expand the opioid epidemic" and it is linked to seizures and liver failure among other things.

https://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm584970.htm

>Why should you care?

You should care because the FDA is attempting to list Kratom as a scheduled substance. Doing so would make criminals out of millions of Americans who depend on Kratom. Kratom is known for its pain and anxiety relieving effects, and perhaps most importantly, its unique ability to ease opioid withdrawal symptoms without the risk of overdose and respiratory depression - one of the main causes of death for opioid abusers. Scheduling Kratom will force thousands of Americans back onto prescription pain killers and anti-depressants.

>Why is the FDA doing this?

They aren't doing it for public health. They are doing it for money. FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb has some very concerning ties to certain pharmaceutical companies that just so happen to have a hand in developing Mytragine, the main alkaloid in Kratom, as a prescription medicine.

all joking aside

any info on prostate health from this group would be helpful

I am asking for a friend(really), he commented that only in the morning after a regular Bm and urination he feels like he has some urine left and dribbles out a bit more.

After laughing at him as only a good friend can do and telling him to buy some depends, I thought I would do some research so I could forward on to him. He is pretty open minded. I told him getting old sucks...lol

male 54, not overwieght, active from what I can tell. Don't think he is on any medication

any suggestion would be helpful

Right ventricular heart attack on Sunday

No symptoms just dehydration and low blood pressure. Now I feel bloated. Have always followed holistic. My right artery to right ventricle was genetically very small so no need for balloon and stent with Cath. Any good holistic slash herbal treatment suggestions

Low blood pressure is not great.  Also, many natural product thin the blood and makes the problem multiply.  Cleaning up the blood seems like a good starting point.  I still like this video:

Heart attacks are nothing to mess with.  So whatever you have done, in the past, to get into this condition, may need to be altered.  I would not want to give any direction because of the "out of the box" views.  I would probably do several things.  Jim

Logic would dictate the form does not matter?

I have told the story before, a man I know well, has leukemia.   His doctors cannot figure out why he is alive.   He had their treatments, and they mostly made his sick.  I asked him what he took for supplements and he said just goji berries.  Now he buys organic goji juice from Vitacost.  Just a cap full a day.

It is really important to watch the blood pressure.  If one is on a blood thinner, they may want to leave these berry alone.  I am spending some time on the study of grapefruit seed extract and it is quite interesting.

Just spent the last hour talking to a nurse in the south who has breast cancer.  She is into alternative methods and has pointed out some new products in Canada.  I'll work on that also. Jim

One More Item!

Never discount the extreme value of encouragement from those around you.  Depression, when ill, is a big item.  Sleepless, worries, a dark cloud every moment of the day and waking in the night.

We spend lots of time, talking to friends and family about winning the battle, standing against death, praying with many, discussion of alternative treatments that have worked for some and not for others. He who is really sick needs a ray of hope. Hope allows one to sleep, friends who encourage give some the courage to get out of bed and live for that day.  All of us only have today and we must live in this day. Hope is one of the best treatments available to all mankind.  Peace to all .   Jim

Thank you

For the encouragement. I still don't know what to augment the treatment plan  without making things worse.

Re: Prostate Health

Silver66:

I have had some success with Saw Palmetto in treating my benign prostatic hyperplasia. I've also used Nettle Root in combination and it seems to more effective. I'm well past 70 and find that it is not as effective after 20 plus years of daily use. My son is close to your friend's age and Saw Palmetto still works pretty well for him.

One of my favorite herbal medicine manuals is "The Male Herbal" by James Green and I'm sure it will have more suggestions. I'm not home at the time and don't have access to my library, so I'm working from a foggy memory. I do know both herbs are quite safe with a long history of use.

The only way I could

The only way I could determine if Palmetto Saw  is working or not would be to discontinue it's use for a couple of months. After 20+ years of use I think I will just continue with my status quot. Maybe looking into Nettle Root to add in as well. Everything works, but just not quite as 'on demand' as it used to.

Got D-Mannose??

D-Mannose is an amazing product.  UTI's are a common problem and the drugs taken, will have some effects, that we are not looking for.

off label treatment of cancer

Researches found the drug called antabuse used to help problem drinkers abstain form alcohol has a side benefit, it appears to kill cancer cells. The drug prevents cancers cells from disposing of protein and it builds up in the cell and the cell dies.

I wonder if there is going to be a repricing of the drug (sarc)

Bowling League

Linda is a fill-in for our son's bowling league.  Part of the family left for vacation, so we filled in, last night, at the bowling alley. There were about 100 people bowling and it was an amazing sight.  I guess that I do not get out enough into the sports world.

Most of the bowlers were between 30-60 years old.  About 90%  of them were extremely overweight.  Two of the men who were near me were drinking large containers of pop and eating a candy bar. I was drinking water.  I told them that the sugar in their snacks would raise their A1C levels and that is a great concern.  They both are trying to deal with their high levels of A1C but also love their sugars. One man's wife tried to get him to throw away the candy bar: NOPE.

When we travel to the huge grocery store, we see many old pre-boomers.  Little old skinny grandma's, a few thin older men, and almost never a large overweight  granny. I hope that some of us are watching the free series above.  We are.   Jim & Linda

Parasites are a big deal and in my dealings, I have found very few cancer suffers who do not have them.    Jim

Medical Update and lessons to learn!

Linda had her regular visit to her oncologist this week.  They gave her a new person and I think the old one just was frustrated with Linda, not being able to chemo/radiate and ruin her good health.   (CA 15-3 = 16 and all blood tests in range).

The new doctor actually wanted to know what alternative treatment she had been using.  This one actually said that there are times when alternative treatments will work.  However, then the "hook" was dropped.  The doctor said:  "Well, we really want you to start chemo and radiation.  However, if you will not, then you must start taking Letrozole."

They take a woman who is beating the cancer system, unhappy with the way she is winning and want to make her as sick as their other patients. It would be good if you would read some of the testimonies from women on this product.     Jim
