SS, I think we can discuss these issues in an edifying manner. Like you, I believe in a pre-trib rapture of the church. To be honest, I really didn't know about other perspectives among evangelicals until several years ago. To me, it is clear from Scripture as well and makes no sense for the Church to go through the wrath of God, also since there is no mention of the Church from Revelation 6 on (because we are not here ).
However, this is not an issue on which salvation depends so of course it is not worth it to dispute in a divisive manner as SWM comments, but as I believe the whole of Scripture is to be taught and understood I think it's worthwhile to examine it and I am curious as to others' perspectives.
At any rate, lately there are days when my prayer is fervently, Come, Lord Jesus.
SS I liked your post and agree with many of your points, no offense SWM, Carol, but I think we can, as fellow believers, hold a discussion of this civilly, yet I understand and appreciate your concern and your point, that this issue can, and does raise strong division and contention amongst believers. So your observation is accurate, yet we are all ‘family’ here at TFMR. No? ……..in my mind……….why not????
I am open to where the Spirit may lead.
Might be a worthwhile discussion based on what is going on in this crazy world.
Just when is the Lord coming for us, His Bride?
We may not reach any collective conclusion, but it may build some up, and give them at least some Hope and comfort in the Truth that He will come for us. Keep in mind; many that read in here are unbelievers, even some weak believers, even those who are just curious, even skeptics, some even on the fence. Perhaps we can help them, if nothing else…….. why….. we believers await out blessed hope, the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.” Joel 3:14
@south west medicine: Your understanding is incorrect. Ephraim the Syrian (306-373 AD) was a deacon in the church of Syria who wrote about the pre-trib rapture. Cyprian, 200-258AD (Bishop of the Church of Carthage) taught pre-trib rapture. Irenaeus, 130-202AD, (Bishop of the Church of Lyons, France) also wrote about the pre-trib rapture. The Apostle Paul taught the pre-trib rapture in 52-53AD. To say that the "pre-trib"teaching began in the 1800's with John Darby is untrue. But all of that is moot because scripture teaches it. Don't take my word for it--search it out yourself.
Am I being divisive? You betcha. The truth is divisive. And since when did asking questions equate to arguing?
It would be more profitable to all if someone would show me what I said was untrue, rather than attacking the messenger.
@maryann: The Lord sought fit to dedicate an entire book (2 Thess) on the topic of addressing a false end-time teaching. Hymenaeus and Philetus' names are recorded for eternity for teaching a falsehood about the end times (2 Tim 2:17)--false teachers aren't named often in the Bible, yet these two are. Is it critical for our salvation? Don't know, but I'd say it's pretty important to Him. I ask you: at what point do YOU not compromise on sound doctrine? At what point do you take a stand? While my "manners" may have been divisive, please show me where I was disrespectful and unBiblical in my response?
I also find it laughable that we can speak out about doctrinal errors in the steeple houses here in full agreement, but as soon as someone brings a respectful disagreement for DISCUSSION, everything shuts down out of "divisiveness". That is cowardly and hypocritical. We should welcome the discussion and long to know the truth of the matter. Does iron not sharpen iron?
Again, rather than labeling me a divider, would someone please show me where what I said was untrue. Is it not important enough for you all to help a brother to know the truth?
I am sorry I was not clear in my response that I agree with you it would be good to discuss and I didn't mean to imply that you were disrespectful at all....I forget sometimes that ya'll don't know me in "real life," and probably assume you know what I mean and I don't use enough words to express a thought. I do regard fellow Christians here at TFMR as "family." I don't think your post was divisive. It just hadn't occurred to me until I read SWM's comment that it could be for some Believers. Because there are differing views doesn't mean we should back away or be afraid to look at Scriptural evidence. And since this thread is primarily Believers posting, this is the most appropriate place to discuss it although yes, non-Believers may be reading in too. Why shouldn't we set a good example in examining Scripture?
You know, your comment to me does make me think about something. My "pet" heresy is the SF movement because that is what I have had the most experience with lately. In contrast, when NWV posts things about the prosperity movement, I have never been involved in that type of congregation so I don't have as much of an emotional response as I do about SF. But it is certainly a heresy that has damaged the effectiveness of the Church and we should take a stand against all error.
I would like to know why some believe that we will be here for the tribulation.
Rejoice, in the Day,

Pre Trib ?
Pan Trib, it will all pan out in the end, My point of view.
I do not believe this topic should be taken so seriously, so as to cause dis-fellowship or division and contention.
I will not allow this issue to separate me from my beloved Brothers and Sisters, if any feel that way then we probably have bigger issues to reason together on, and frankly this issue is not big, nor ever will be on my radar.
We are not to be sitting around waiting for Jesus return , but to be building our Holy Spirit filled relationship with God, discerning Our Calling, and putting effort and resources into fulfilling what God's purposed for Our lives.
Some Thirty, some Sixty, Some an Hundred fold.
Praise the lord.
I used to give Pre Rapture more thought until the world events passed by my perceived caught up in the air date, we will be caught to meet Jesus in the air but the dead in Christ shall be raised first. inmho.
Rev 6:12-17, Matt24:29-31,
Rev 7:3-8 Israel, Rev 7:9-14 Trib Saints
May the Spirit guide your thoughts,
My deepest concern with Pre Trib is that it might lead to an complacent Church,
I want the Church to be on Fire for God, time is short and there is plenty to do.
If the Church is told they shall escape the persecution of the Saints, they may not have the same sense of urgency to reach out and preach to the lost.
Nor be on Watch, as we are told many times.
End Times is not a subject that increases Church pew scarcity, nor increase Tithes, so the topic has a tendency to be swept under the rug, for "live your best Life now" type teachings, "God wants you to be prosperous", "name it and claim it" and Creflo needs a 65 million dollars private Jet to do God's work.
Blind leading the Blind, both shall fall into the Ditch.
By not teaching end time Scripture, these church leaders are either not Spirit filled and listening to God's Spirit, or have chosen church health over their charges well being and eternal Salvation, imho.
Where is their Rapture?
Syrians, Iraqi, Sudanes, Ukrainian, Pakistani, Chinese, (the list goes on) and many other countries have valid reason to question the "raptured out"before tribulation doctrine.
I think we have to very careful hanging our hat on "we won't be here", jmho.
As I see the rise of the Beast system, the decline of Society into such a vile state, 50,000 million plus murdered Babies since Roe vs. Wade, revealed to be now being chopped up and sold as so much chopped Liver.
God has tears in His Eyes.

O no, have to mind my figure, but thank you for asking.
So civil, so assured, in the know power people.
"God Bless Planned Parenthood" spewed that Pillar of Statesmanship, Barrak Hussein Obama, as He vowed to veto any defunding Bill of the 500,000,000 tax dollars given to Miss Baby Part Lady.
Lies are told by everyone in power and media.
Warmongers are carrying on brisk business in the accumulation of blood and treasure, a virtual bath of innocent Blood.
Their Blood lust growing daily with their power and spoil.
I grow less and less convinced that somehow the "western Church shall be removed, prior to the tribulation which has obviously has arrived in other parts of the Globe .
I believe the beast shall overcome the Saints, as per Scripture through the Tribulation, but not the full pouring out of the undiluted cup of the Wrath of God.
This full indignation is the Great Tribulation, not just Tribulation, I believe there is a difference, jmho.
This is reserved for those Christians and All Others who succumb to the Mark of the Beast, and worship the Anti Christ.

It's important because it has the ability to overthrow the faith of some.
2 Timothy is basically Paul's last words. He penned the letter to Timothy shortly before his death while imprisoned in Rome.
In 2 Timothy Paul names 8 evil doers by name (6 former associates and 2 men from the Old Testament). Two of these former associates (Hymenaeus and Philetus) have more written about them than any of the others. Let's take a look at 2 Timothy 2:17-18:
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
What was their sin? They erred concerning the truth by teaching a falsehood about the resurrection (of the dead & the church--ie, the rapture). Specifically, they were teaching that the rapture had already happened. And in doing so, they overthrew the faith of some. Additionally, their words were like a canker (or cancer or gangrene)...eating away and destroying the good cells within the body.
Think about this for a second. The Holy Spirit thought fit to eternalize WHO these men were, WHAT they did that was wrong and WHY it was important. AND, it was important enough for the Holy Spirit to record MORE about these 2, then the others. It was important enough for the Holy Spirit to connect it to overthrowing a Christian's faith--I dare say a cavalier attitude about the issue is contrary to scripture.
Additionally, the whole reason Paul wrote 2 Thessolonians was to correct a false teaching about the end of the age. The Holy Spirit devoted AN ENTIRE BOOK OF THE BIBLE TO CORRECT A FALSE END-TIME TEACHING.
"All scripture is profitable"...only if you use it.

About the founders, Chuck and Nancy Missler
Chuck and Nancy Missler were both raised in Southern California.
Chuck demonstrated an aptitude for technical interests as a youth. He became a ham radio operator at age nine and started piloting airplanes as a teenager. While still in high school, Chuck built a digital computer in the family garage.
His plans to pursue a doctorate in electrical engineering at Stanford University were interrupted when he received a Congressional appointment to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. Graduating with honors, Chuck took his commission in the Air Force. After completing flight training, he met and married Nancy. Chuck joined the Missile Program and eventually became Branch Chief of the Department of Guided Missiles.
About Koinonia House
Our Mission Statement
To create, develop, and distribute materials to stimulate, encourage, and facilitate serious study of the Bible as the inerrant Word of God.
Statement of Faith
The Bible is the very Word of God, is inerrant in its original autographs, and is fully and totally and uniquely reliable as the primary guide to all actions and commitments;
That Jesus Christ is God Incarnate, became man to fulfill a destiny on our behalf, was crucified, buried, and bodily resurrected, is presently seated on His Father’s Throne, and will soon return to establish His Kingdom on the Planet Earth.
That, in the meantime, the Holy Spirit is uniquely active in pursuing His mission in calling, equipping, and empowering believers, and is essential for any and all of the pursuits to be fruitful and effective.
…is a New Testament word which is most often translated to mean “communication”, “fellowship”, or “communion”. Koinonia House, or K-House as we are affectionately called, is dedicated to the development and distribution of materials for encouraging and facilitating serious study of the Bible as the inerrant Word of God. We are a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.
K-House was founded by Chuck and Nancy Missler. Chuck, a Naval academy graduate and former Branch Chief of the Dept. of Guided Missiles, had a remarkable 30-year executive career. He served on the Board of Directors of 12 public companies and was CEO of 6 of them. For twenty years Chuck balanced his high-profile corporate career with his teaching commitment to a weekly Bible study at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in Southern California. Nancy, while raising their four children, has touched the lives of thousands through her in-depth teaching of Biblical discoveries in her “Way of Agape” and “Be Ye Transformed” books and tape series.
After a devastating earthquake in 1992 demolished their home in Big Bear, California, Chuck and Nan moved Koinonia House to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and K-House now reaches tens of thousands through its monthly newsletter, radio shows, podcast, Bible study materials, and conferences. More than eight million Bible study resources have been distributed in the U.S. and in over 35 countries around the world. Thanks for visiting us. I want to be perfectly clear. My stand on this issue is less about which view of the rapture is true. Rather, it is more about identifying and countering false teachings and deception in our midst.
SWM posted a video last night that I want to use as an example as to how Christian deception works. You see, deceivers are counting on the fact that you won't check what they say. And they're right. The average Christian WON'T which makes infiltrating our midst and spreading damnable heresies very easy. This is why it's so easy to pass a counterfeit Christian teaching--because it seems so much like the real thing AND NO ONE CHECKS IF IT IS TRUE OR NOT. A wolf in sheep's clothing at first glance looks exactly like a sheep, but on close examination, you can see that it's not a sheep--IT'S A WOLF!
Allow me to show you how this works, using the first 12 minutes of Doug Batchelor's video as an example:
Batchelor begins by disarming his audience by saying, "let's all study together" and "in love, it's ok to agree to disagree." Nothing wrong with those words. But he's inviting the listener to put down their filter because after all, we all want peace and harmony and no division, right? Again, nothing wrong in what he says here, but HE IS DISARMING YOU!
Batchelor then begins his attack on the pre-trib position by going extra-Biblical (ie, outside the Bible). He jumps right in by saying it was Hal Lindsey who popularized this idea and that it was originally from a Jesuit priest, then later John Darby who were the first church leaders who taught this idea. Again, he's counting on the fact that 1.) you won't check this fact and 2.) he makes the pre-trib position SEEM like it is a tactic of the catholic church specifically to counter the Protestant Reformation. Both of these points are lies. I have already pointed out 3 church leaders (Irenaeus in the 2nd Century, Cyprian in the 3rd Century, and Ephraim in the 4th Century) who taught the pre-trib position (which, did you check those facts for yourselves?). So we have already established that this extra-Biblical "claim" that the pre-trib rapture is a new idea is FALSE.
Next (and here's where it gets sneaky), ~6:45 mark Doug deceptively creates a powerful point by asking a very simple question: "Can anyone here tell me where the scripture is that says '7 years of tribulation'"? I say this is sneaky, because THERE IS NO SINGLE VERSE THAT SAYS THE WORDS "7 YEARS OF TRIBULATION". I know this, and Batchelor certainly knows it. He has no risk in asking the question because he knows full well there is no single scripture that says those words and no one is going to raise their hand.
HOWEVER, a specific 7-year period IS mentioned two places in the Bible: 1.) when the Archangel Gabriel visits Daniel (Daniel 9) and 2.) in Revelation 11 where we have a 1260 day +42 month period identified. Now, you must follow the clues given in scripture, do some math and think a little, but again, to say that the Bible does not indicate a specific 7-year period to "to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy." is intellectually dishonest and patently false. But again, Batchelor is counting that the viewer doesn't know these things or is to lazy to check the facts for themselves.
Batchelor then goes into presenting several irrelevant examples of people(s) going through tribulations (Noah, Job, Joseph, Daniel, Shadrack, Meshack, and Abendego). I say irrelevant because evidence that people go though tribulation does not make the inverse false--ie, there are BOTH examples of people going through AND people removed BEFORE tribulations. But Batchelor leads you into inferring that there must not be any examples, types or foreshadowings of the rapture that can be found in Scripture. He willfully ignores these examples: Enoch was translated and departed the earth BEFORE the flood, while Noah and his family went through a tribulation. Rahab (a gentile) was spared the tribulation of the fall of Jericoh--she and her family were removed BEFORE the city was burned. Lot and his family were removed out of Soddom and Gomorrah BEFORE fire and brimstone came down--in fact, the angel tells Lot that nothing can happen UNTIL Lot is removed. Inconvenient facts that Batchelor leaves out as he twists Biblical Truth.
Then, ~10:00, Batchelor begins his "thief in the night" expose. He concludes this by quoting 1 Thess 5:1-6. But he critically omits verse 9: "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,". This verse MUST be taken in context WITH verses 1-6 and applied to the believer's position vis-a-vis "that day". The church is not appointed to wrath--what about those words are so hard to understand? Again, this is a typical tactic of deception in taking things out of context and omitting surrounding text that clarifies the point.
I could go on, but where's the profit? Haven't we seen enough from this wolf? He's twisted, omitted, lied and intentionally deceived you about facts on this topic knowing full well that no one will check for themselves. That's the art of deception.
So how do you keep from being deceived? STUDY THE SCRIPTURES FOR YOURSELF! Test ALL things (even what I have said).
And once you have studied these things, let no one despise you in earnestly contending for the faith.
This is just to important to keep quiet.
Deception and false religions flourish because they are a blend of paganism and just enough perverted Christianity to make it acceptable to the masses.
I am not bashing anyone and it is not my intention to do so. You see I lived the "blend" for many years, I was raised in it, I was raised JW which is a cult.
However as God often time does, he allows one to see the truth if one seeks and earnestly seeks with all their heart.
God is a very precise, perfect, methodical God, he is not the author of confusion.
If you study God's feast days in Lev 23-24 he clearly lays out his plan. You see, these are God's feast days, his holy convocations, his appointed times.
Yeshua is the sinless lamb without blemish of God that died on the very same day of God's first appointed feast day of Passover.
Yeshua was entombed right at sunset/moonrise of the feast of Unleavened Bread. Leaven represents sin and Yeshua had no sin. The feast of Unleavened Bread is the very next feast day in order.
Yeshua rose on the feast of Firstfruits, which is 3 days after Unleavened Bread, 3- 24 hour days apart. Yeshua is the first raised to everlasting life, the first wave sheaf offering, a promise of greater thing to come. Remember when Yeshua rose so did others (Matthew 27:52) but they did not raise to everlasting life like Yeshua did. This was to show of future, greater things to come.
And Yeshua died on a Wednesday not a Friday. Yeshuah was in the heart of the earth 3 days and 3 nights. 3-24 hour days. He was entombed Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night, there are the 3 full nights. He was entombed Thursday day, Friday day and Saturday day, there are your 3 full days. Add it together and you have the perfect fulfillment of Matthew 12:40.
Matthew 12:40-For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The next feast day in exact line of order is the feast of Pentecost and the Holy Spirit came on that exact day.
So you see, 4 of the 7 of God's feast days have been literally and perfectly fulfilled in the same exact order written in the Bible.
3 feast days remain yet to be fulfilled, the fall feast days and since God has made sure his first 4 feast days were fulfilled in the same exact perfect order written in the Bible don't you think he will fulfill the remaining feast days too.
Col 2:17-18-Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: (18)Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
I believe it is imperative to study God's fall feast and what a Jewish wedding consist of to see what is to come.
2 Timothy 2:15-Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
