Turkey, Arab states agree to boost economic ties

Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said the trade volume between Turkey and the Arab states had reached $53 billion as of the end of 2014, adding that he expected this figure to reach some $70 billion by the first quarter of 2017.

https://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/turkey-arab-states-agree-to-boost-econ...

So, what currency/currencies will the trade be in? Dinars and dirhans? Remember how Turkey has expanded its imports of silver as well as gold.

Euro central banks lent 110 bn euros to Greek banks

In an interview with Le Figaro daily, Christian Noyer, head of France's central bank, said the level of funding of the Greek economy by the Eurosystem -- the eurozone's monetary authority -- was "by far the biggest in the eurozone".

"We are currently at 110 billion euros and we have more than doubled liquidity contributions in six months."

Noyer added that the amount of emergency liquidity accorded to Greece has increased considerably, and urged Greece to "very quickly make a complete proposal of reforms that would allow them to find a viable economic model".

A Greek exit from the eurozone would be "traumatic," said the French central banker.

https://en-maktoob.news.yahoo.com/euro-central-banks-lent-110-bn-euros-g...

Sounds like this is referring to liquidity injections into Greek banks in response to massive bank withdrawals by the Greeks as they withdraw their deposits in euros while they can.

India's Essar buys 6.3 pct less Iran oil in 2014/15

Last month Essar for the first time skipped purchases from Iran in 3-1/2 years after an oil ministry directive asking Indian refiners to sharply cut imports from Tehran over February and March to keep the fiscal-year figure in line with sanctions limit

https://en-maktoob.news.yahoo.com/table-indias-essar-buys-6-3-pct-less-1...

Why is the Indian government imposing/enforcing limits on Iranian oil imports? Is this at Israel's bidding?

How badly does China want to

How badly does China want to connect to Africa and other resource rich countries and large markets ? Oh very badly indeed. This has been going on for a long time especially in Africa. Guess we know where some of the bond sales went !

China's Xi Jinping agrees $46bn superhighway to Pakistan

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-32377088

The focus of spending is on building a China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) - a network of roads, railway and pipelines between the long-time allies.

They will run some 3,000km (1,800 miles) from Gwadar in Pakistan to China's western Xinjiang region.

The projects will give China direct access to the Indian Ocean and beyond.

This marks a major advance in China's plans to boost its influence in Central and South Asia, correspondents say, and far exceeds US spending in Pakistan.

Every single month I have commercial and residential fiat a**wipe payments coming in, and I am truly grateful that the Banksters have made it able to convert same into hard money at these asinine fiat price levels.angel

"2009"?

That actually was in October of 2008, there Pothead!

Amazing that even in spite of all the recent years' fiat derivative smashdown interventions, Gold has managed to nevertheless far out pace and out gain percentage wise from its 2008 low, versus the fiat USDiaper, which is still down FORTY F*ing PERCENT from its all time high from THREE F*ing DECADES AGO!

"China may have tripled holdings of bullion"

The Mystery of China's Gold Stash May Soon Be Solved

China’s push to challenge U.S. dominance in global trade and finance may involve gold -- a lot of gold.

While the metal is no longer used to back paper money, it remains a big chunk of central bank reserves in the U.S. and Europe. China became the world’s second-largest economy in 2010 and has stepped up efforts to make the yuan a viable competitor to the dollar. That’s led to speculation the government has stockpiled gold as part of a plan to diversify $3.7 trillion in foreign-exchange reserves.

The People’s Bank of China may have tripled holdings of bullion since it last updated them in April 2009, to 3,510 metric tons, says Bloomberg Intelligence, based on trade data, domestic output and China Gold Association figures. A stockpile that big would be second only to the 8,133.5 tons in the U.S.

"China is the world’s largest gold producer and ranked behind only India among top consumers last year, but the amount of metal its central bank last reported holding in 2009 accounts for just 1 percent of foreign-exchange reserves, which have surged more than fivefold in a decade and are the biggest in the world. Most of that is in dollars."

"In a rare comment on gold, Yi Gang, the central bank’s deputy governor, said in March 2013 that the country could only invest as much as 2 percent of its foreign-exchange holdings in gold because the market was too small. "

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/mystery-chinas-gold-stash-may-160100151.html

=====================================================================

Reading the rest of the article either at this link or at Bloomberg is well worth the effort.

The last line of the article is laughable, but the speculation of the PBoC holding 10,500 tonnes of gold bullion according to Bloomberg Intelligence is in line with Jim Willie and a few other writers on the subject.
