Thanks DBean

I will use the eatwild directory, thanks. As far as eggs are concerned, we have had a tough time figuring that one out. We were using eggs as a major part of our diet and to make sure it was organic, we began raising our own. Much to our dismay, the son we began the diet for is allergic. We thought it was just chicken as the tests showed but he never seemed to improve as much as we had predicted. I had changed to turkey and duck. It was the traditional allergist who said, yes your son is allergic to chicken. And if he's allergic to chicken, he's probably allergic to eggs and all poultry. Aahaaa. Now I get it! Once we took out all poultry and eggs, he got miraculously better. It restricts what he can eat down to very few things and I have not found a suitable substitute for eggs that doesn't breach the GAPS diet rules. I know, applesauce and flaxseed meal but they don't substitute well in pancakes which is what I desire. He is also reactive to cow's milk but tolerates goat's milk. He doesn't love the taste as much though. He doesn't really enjoy almond or coconut milk either but I can use it in recipes.

As for your question regarding serious workouts and the diet, I don't know. Believe it or not, I lost my 50 lbs without any changes in my exercise routine which consists of chasing my kids and being active with them. I play occasional pond hockey, ski, take walks, bike with the kids, and play the usual outdoor games with them like baseball, and soccer. I do not have a formal exercise routine. Now that I'm back to my old weight, I've got more energy and with less to carry I'm motivated to do more. If there was more time in the day, I'd join a team or a gym but that's not likely. When I get home, my hubby who does double duty at home (runs his own business and cares for the kids), is spent and needs me to take over. I'm thinking of doing family yoga or something we can do together. The Forks Over Knives movie showed a pro sports guy who was Vegan suggesting that it's certainly possible.

BOG

Fair enough. Ok, sure, that was too lame. Apologies.

A "Catastrophically Unhealthy Food" and "Catastrophically Unhealthy Living" forum then?

I'm sure there's plenty of extra mileage there.

Just trying to help.

Thought I would have a quick saunter over here

to see what all the fuss was about. Well that was about two hours ago.

Yes, my two favourite topics. Stacking and health (food being thee main issue)

I was ill for some time, took multiple antibiotics for 6 years straight (late stage Lyme). Back on my feet; but my gut flora... oh dear oh dear. Probably leaky gut too. Currently doing Paleo. Clean meat organic veggies.

Any sugar leads to massive further cravings, bloating etc. Still not been able to banish "itching" at these times.

Without good gut health Gold soon loses its luster. A work in progress.

Great thread.

Bugzy- Lyme Disease

I have had Lyme twice. Once when I was 27, and once two years ago. I am not convinced I fully got rid of it the first time, but the second time around clearly had a tick bite and the now infamous bullseye rash.

After a 10 day course of antibiotics, my doctor and Insurance company said they did the part even though i was still very sick. At the urging of Katie Rose and Bollocks, I tried colloidal silver. After 30 days I felt a lot better and now believe myself to be healed. I didn't feel truly healthy, however, until I did the GAPS and restored my gut.

If Katie sees your post, I am sure she will have much to say to you about Lyme. My experience has been that you should listen.

Yup, just took delivery my silver lungs colloidal silver delux package 3 week ago.

I can confirm with fix that I no longer have urgent need to pee at the wrong times. No longer taking flo max. Savings already.

Hard yellow skin on soles of feet seem to be going and dandruff almost gone. Yup, I have a lot of stuff going on. I guess if I can clear the load of opportunistic stuff then my bod might have a fighting chance.

How much colloidal are we talking about. I am currently ingesting 1 oz of the Gold colored brew. (made by putting 6 drops into clear ionized 20ppm solution)? So how much is recommended?

Trying niacin too to get the flush, reaching more parts.

I have a little home remedy

I have a little home remedy that I use for 'cedar fever'. Every year in January, or sometimes late December the ashe juniper trees, the male trees, dump a load of toxic pollen into the air here in the Texas Hill Country.

Every year I twist off a couple small sprigs from a male tree in the second week or so of December. I pick the pollen cones off, grind 'em up with a mortar and pestle, and eat about a half teaspoon of this juniper-flavored immature pollen and ground up cones.

This year, I forgot and didn't do that until about Dec 31. And this year I had watery eyes and sneezed for a couple weeks. In the years in which I have eaten the pollen, I had no effect. However IANAD and cannot guarantee that this will work for you.

Chicken bone broth

The 66's just finished a wonderful organic chicken for dinner. Now that this forum is up, I will not be throwing out the carcass. The crock pot has been pulled out, all the bones put in, covered in water, salt and pepper, two onions, carrots a hot of vinegar and set for 10 hours. Should have some nice broth to strain in the morning and a means to fortify my innards!!

Whoever posted Dr Tent, many thanks I have watched about 6 of his youtube videos in the last 3 days( at 2 hours a pop). I like his style

Nice move! I promise you won't regret that move. That is nature's best medicine right there. The longer you let it simmer, the better. Mrs69 is saying 2 days.

I took 20ppm twice a day for 30 days. Katie might have better answers for you. I have started making my own as well but have no idea what the PPM is. When I had Lyme I was taking Mesosilver.

Edit: oh and I made my own silver generator.

Urban Roman, welcome and thank you for the comment. I have not researched "self vaccinating" but your results are encouraging!

Speaking of vaccines:

If Your Doctor Insists That Vaccines Are Safe, Then Have Them Sign This Form

The average person that consents to a vaccine injection, either for themselves or for their children, genuinely believes it is for the betterment of health. What they are not aware of is that even their doctor is likely unfamiliar with the toxic ingredients contained in vaccines which can immediately begin to degrade both short- and long-term health. If your doctor insists that vaccines are safe, then they should have absolutely no problem in signing this form so that you may archive it for your own records on the event of an adverse reaction.

The reality of vaccines is that they are a far greater risk to human health than benefit and always have been. In fact, two centuries of official death statistics show conclusively and scientifically that modern medicine is not responsible for and played little part in substantially improving life expectancy and survival from diseases in developed nations.

In North America, Europe, and the South Pacific, major declines in life-threatening infectious diseases occurred historically either without, or far in advance vaccination efforts for specific diseases.

Whenever I personally inform medical doctors of these realities, many of them are quite shocked with the data. That's not surprising considering the fact that medical students are still brainwashed that vaccines immunize which is a myth in itself, since natural or "real" immunity can never be artificially induced by a vaccine.

And also re: vaccines, if they are so safe, why on earth would they have their own court?

PPM stands for parts per million. kinda like percent is parts per 100. The difference is 4 decimal places. 20ppm = 0.002% But how much were you ingesting twice per day?

right Bugzy, sorry

I was taking two tablespoons of 20 ppm twice a day. I have no idea how proper that is, but I think you might find this interesting:

https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/02/07/new-guidelines-released-for-safe-usage-of-colloidal-silver-supplements.aspx

According to the Silver Safety Council, the formula for determining your maximum safe dosage level if you plan on using colloidal silver DAILY as a nutritional supplement is as follows:

First, multiply your body weight by 12. And then divide that total by the ppm of the colloidal silver solution you're using.

Calculation1.pngThis will tell you how many DROPS (i.e., from an eye dropper) of colloidal silver you can take each day, safely, for a lifetime, without fear of ending up with argyria (i.e., skin-staining).

For example, if you're 125 pounds, and you're using a 10 ppm colloidal silver solution, you'd multiply 12 times 125 = 1,500. Then divide 1,500 by 10 (ppm), which is 150.

So at a body weight of 125 pounds, you can safely take 150 drops of colloidal silver per day, for your entire life, according to the Silver Safety Council. That's a little bit over a teaspoonful a day.

Make your own magnesium oil

I have some favorite sites for recipes. The following link is for making magnesium oil at home. It will help with digestion and detox. I think I'm gonna make some. I made something similar with coconut oil and epsom salt but it separates and leaves a salty scratchy residue. It's great at first right after it's been heated but it doesn't stay well blended. It's good stuff but this recipe might beat it. You can buy it already made from Ancient Minerals which claims to be more effective. The mygutsy.com site is one of my favorites along with homeandhappiness.com, keeperofthehome.com, plantoeat.com, and cheeseslave.com. I've got other favorite sites which I'll share as I come across them again.

Anyone got info on dilated pupils in children?

Trying to figure out why my kids get dilated pupils along with behavioral issues, especially if they've eaten non-organic foods or a bit of sugar (I limit their sugar intake quite strictly). I'm wondering if their probiotic use could cause it? They do take a lot. Do you think it's a leaky gut symptom? Maybe an allergic reaction to a food? Today, gave them plantain chips cooked in sunflower oil, the usual smoothie with lots of healthy goodness, and grass fed meatballs with homemade ketchup. Still saw significant dilation. We were out of town yesterday and we ate out but tried to stick to our usual diet as much as possible. My youngest had dilated pupils in the past when he ate nothing but chicken soup. We later found out he was allergic to chicken. I'm considering getting some food allergy testing on the oldest and the one who has the most significant dilation. Wondering if he's toxic and what the offender is?

There are many reasons and possible cures for our health problems. About 15 years ago I became very ill and was nearly bedridden. My right side was nearly paralyzed and my fingers could not even hold a pen. Weak and ready to die from the cramping and pain. Yes I visited the doctors, specialists, poking me here and there and finally they told me that I had a very rare disease. They told me if I received the treatments they wanted that I would be in a bed for the rest of my life.

I told the wife that I knew I was leaving but I would not receive their continual blood/chemical shots. I was ready to go just to get out of the pain and weakness.

Then it happened. My wife's sister told us about a alternative view of getting some help and the testimonies. I never ever wanted to visit these quacks who were pushing something new. However, I thought "well I'm dying" what have I to lose?

So I visited a CRA person in Washington State that had some results. She checked me out for five minutes and said "You do not have any of the things that you doctor's and specialists say is wrong with you." I thought " You check me for five minutes while I have been poked and sampled for months at my doctors".

She said "I know exactly what is wrong. Your body is impacted with parasites. The bugs are eating all the good that you consume and I can fix you over about a two month timeframe". I could not even have hoped for such a good possibility.

First she gave me the bug killing pills to take and I started feeling better within two days. I finally had my strength restored and the only thing that was not fixed was my case of drop foot. (Yes I'm thankful and can enjoy my boomer years).

I believe we have many problems because of parasites that the doctors do not even consider. Also, the work done by the Gerson Institute in California is helping many to overcome cancer. I have a close friend who works for them.

Well, it may not be the food some are eating but the bugs that are sleeping. jmo

Two Popular Foods May Turn Immune System Against Brain

A new study published in the open access journal Nutrients titled, “The Prevalence of Antibodies against Wheat and Milk Proteins in Blood Donors and Their Contribution to Neuroimmune Reactivities,” implicates two of the Western world’s most popular foods in various forms of immune-mediated brain damage and dysfunction, including gluten ataxia and multiple sclerosis.

A group of U.S. researchers set out to ascertain the presence of IgG, IgM, and IgA antibodies against wheat and milk, in 400 blood samples, from 181 males and 219 female donors of mixed ancestry. Because wheat and milk antibodies have been found in elevated concentrations in various neuroimmune disorders, the researchers measured the co-occurrence of their antibodies against the following brain proteins:

  1. GAD-65 (Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase)
  2. Cerebellar peptides
  3. MBP (myelin basic protein)
  4. MOG (myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein)

Their results revealed significant clustering when certain wheat and milk protein antibodies were cross-referenced with neural antibodies.

Euromonitor: All eyes now on Kellogg as Gen Mills and Post Foods throw down Non-GMO gauntlet

By Elaine Watson+, 22-Jan-2014

Many big brands are “playing a waiting game” right now to see whether moves by General Mills and Post Foods to axe GMOs from iconic brands (Cheerios and Grape Nuts) will have a domino effect, say analysts at Euromonitor International.
