Trend not broken yet

Deluxe, but the moment getting closer. PTC Is heavily populated by defeated bulls, which included me until very recently. A 30 month bear market has that effect on people. Silver being a laggard at the mo. Maybe that will be the nuance that characterises this phase. Am roughly 50-50 gold /silver miners, but may top up with extra PG, PVG etc. Nice day for buying some LTC dips too. Am officially raising my bull flag. Time for me to stop talking to my avatar too.

Wake me up at HUI 200. No, on 2nd thoughts, please dont bother.

Gee, what happened to >3% on

Gee, what happened to >3% on the 10 yr that Pain Street maintained was the End of Western Civilization? That's what happens when you ignore global money flows...

PMs just starting to act like a currency again--we'll see how long that remains tradable. I have no idea, but it's something to keep an eye on.

ArgenTurkey is what's causing all the consternation--latest round of EM Whack-a-Mole. Who knows? EMs may turn out to be the Miners of 1H 2014

Sorry I missed that 102 on JPY--might get another crack even lower, later this AM. Overshoot to 101.5 would be sweet...

gold bulls

You will get your hat handed to you. Again :)

Now is the time to start targeting sells not buys.

The buy is in the summer, late June or later. Not now :) :)

All the same for silver too.

They reverse split 'em all the time, to disguise the decay. So you've been shorting the SPX for months?

Huge Volume ATM

in market shorts like UVXY and TZA.

Sold my gold short after the open. Too much risk, both short and long IMO.

Classic pundit chestnut "5-7%

Classic pundit chestnut "5-7% pullback" takes us to 1720-1750 on the SPX. Now have decisive break of the 50 EMA. We'll see...

Fed-wise, I don't think they are going to change a goddamn thing next week. Why should they? The markets are frothy, and some air is coming out all by itself. Worst case is probably choppy SPX downtrend, over next couple months, to 200 EMA.

I hope everyone has figured out commodities now have all the appeal of Christian Bale's comb-over in American Hustle...

Compare the time of these

Compare the time of these news and silver slide:

https://www.reuters.com/article/2014/01/24/us-india-polls-idUSBREA0N17I20140124

Reuters time stamp 11:27 EST;

Silver mini crash: 11:27 EST;

Quote: (Reuters) - A third of Indian voters want Hindu nationalist Narendra Modi to be their next prime minister, placing him well ahead of his rivals in general elections due by May, according to the latest in a series of opinion polls that show rising support for the opposition candidate.

The survey, conducted by pollsters CSDS for the CNN-IBN television channel, also forecast that Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would win 192-210 seats in the 543-seat assembly, while the ruling Congress party would only bag 92-108 seats.

Good for gold, bad for silver as ruling party will for political reasons start removing gold tax. Until May this can help gold.

Any future development must involve changing something which people have never challenged up to the present,and which will not be shown up by an axiomatic formulation. P.A.M.Dirac

S&P

been going long and short back and forth based on the news, fomc, etc. It was good while the trades were free, but with a small account I found that there wasnt enough movement to generate more than pocket change.

switched to lower cost higher volatility things. nat gas has been good, and blackberry went well. almost exculsively - so much movement in nugt, jnug, jdst, dust everyday. Td gave me 500 free trades so I have gotten a lot of experience with small positions. leveling in, unwinding, averaging costs, etc

Like him or not, MA's point of view is very much ascendant, in the period we find ourselves in. His analysis is moving from strength to strength, and I encourage everyone to check out his blog several times/week, if you want an ongoing summary of what to pay attention to.
