Man I had an epic post for you that got wiped. I'll try and write it up again in a bit. *sigh*
I'm going to make a couple of notes for reference.
EXK GPL Guanajuato properties are adjacent
Bob Archer/Sean Brodrick
I'm currently in the same boat as you KiniK, more than 1/2 of my watch list miners are screaming "buy me, buy me!", but the lack of available funds to add new positions is holding me back right now. Hopefully a few of my current holdings reach my sell limits soon allowing me to take my winnings and snatch up some of these undervalued picks. Silver being stuck in a consolidation/suppression phase right now isn't doing us any favors, but that game can't last forever.
GPL is a great buy at this stage ..I own a small position. Wish I could add more because I believe this one will fly when the time is right. ...So many good miners..so little time ...(and fiat!)
The good doctor, do you have a link for that? I just downloaded the fund holdings and I don't see it anywhere on it, or in recent news. Thanks!
I think there is a thread for the GDXJ in the miner section. That is where I saw it. Someone had a list of about four or five stocks that were being added. Great Panther being one of them. The fund holdings should update on Monday. But, people were excited because there was a nice pop after hours on Friday in the stock. I'll see if I can find that link later tonight. I know I posted in the thread.
Here's a link to the news. It shows the TSE symbol.
Thanks PaPaSpeed. Long day for me. Appreciate the help!
Thanks for the link PaPa Speed and the infor the good doctor. surprising they are taking ANV off. it's performed well and with siver at these prices, I only expect to see lower and lower gold costs at the hycroft mine.
Have you Panther fans listened to the KWN audio on the miners. It is linked in Turd's AM blog.
Dan Norcini, Jim Sinclair and EricKing (the PM experts among experts) say (and give reasons why) quality PM miners are NOW, TODAY a screaming BUY.
If you are hesitating because you missed your buy by 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents or even more, what will it matter when Panther is into double digits. Don't have a lot of cash, buy 100 shares ($300), hell buy 50. Just do it. And then do it again. You won't build up any portfolio sitting on your ass watching and wishing.
I have said it before: There is more danger (to your financial survival) being out of this market than being in.
Very well said, IMHO.....this Panther fan listened, I assure you.
Since I'm originally from Pittsburgh, I'm a Panther Fan. It was an interesting day, the gap up held and we had a nice pop at the close. I'm hoping that end of day pop holds the 1st hour tomorrow, but we'll see.
I'd like to see the miners get some due respect over the coming weeks. After all the do have actual silver, not just paper. It's just a matter of getting it out of the ground, and getting it to market.
Good luck Panther Fans.
I am sure that you Panther fans have done your DD and you know of the proximity of the Endeavor EXK (EDR on TSX) properties and those of Great Panther. Endeavor and Panther are mining the same ore bodies.
There is considerable buzz these days about consolidation and mergers within the mining industry. I have positions in both Panther and Endeavor. I think there is a strong likelihood of an Endeavor takeover offer for Panther. For me, this is another reason to hold GPL shares. Endeavor is flush with cash, as are many mid tier PM miners and an offer for GPL could be very good.
In my heart of hearts, I would rather hold GPL into the double digits, but a takeover wouldn't be bad and might be very profitable. Just be prepared.
I would love to hold GPL into the double digits, but since these are the 2 miners that I own, I wouldn't mind a takeover. I don't have a good feeling about holding too much cash. I would rather Endeavour use it's cash to buy more silver/gold properities. If it happens to be GPL, so be it. I'll use the money to buy more EXK or other mining stock.
It would be interesting if it happened, however I don't think it will. GPL hasn't even opened all the mines it can. The properties they have a fairly large and largely under explored by new mining technology. I received an investment package and one of the interviews was done with Sean Brodrick from Weiss. The gist of Bob Archer's argument for the mines was that he believed that as they go deeper the better the the results. Well, that has proven true since the article was written (2009) they have had better results since going deeper. Here is a link to the article below. Bottom line is Bob Archer thinks there are a lot of ounces in just the Guanajuato mine alone! He hints at it the amount in the article. I think GPL will be on the hunt for more property. I think there is room for both EXK and GPL in the silver sector without having a merger. There are great things coming for both companies. That is the key takeaway. EXK just bought some more land near their properties too.
The Great Panther is bumping up and poking thru the top Bollinger band. Let's hope this trend continues to the $4.00 level.
Now, if we can just get EXK to do some catch up and hit the top Bollinger band(10.45), that would be sweeeeet! But we need to take out the 50 day ema first (9.02).
Good luck to all.
"We are pleased to join the Russell Global Index following our recent addition to the Market VectorsTM Junior Gold Miners Index (MV GDXJ)," said Robert Archer, Great Panther's President & CEO. "Membership in these indexes is a testament to the continued growth of Great Panther Silver, both at our mines and in the markets, and will help raise our profile with institutional investors."
Pretty resilient performance today. Maybe the market is trying to tell us something about the miners. We're going up.
strange that gpr didn't move much Thu/Fri...
