Smoke Screen!

The IEA story today and the OPEC response is perdfect cover for the horrible, new unemployment numbers that came out today.

The breaking story about the Repub's walking out of the debt ceiling meeting is starting to gain attraction and more MSM scrutiny. Stalled debt ceiling talks getting all hostile is not what is needed at this time. It will go down to the last minute with a extension etc. but the damage will have been done by that time regardless of what they compromise on. The shiny spotlight is on us and our leaders are withering and retreating from it. It's on TV right now.

All the while the unemployment numbers and the jobless rate will go mostly unspoken in the MSM today. All of our pressing problems seem to be coming fast and furious and increasing in frequency at this point. Important problems going almost unnoticed as another one grabs out attention.

The firings will continue

The firings will continue until morale improves

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as “bad luck.” ~ Robert Heinlein
