As we head into the weekend, I've got a few things on my mind. However, it would take too much time to type it all out so I figured it would be best to speak to you directly.

The only thing that I forgot was that YouTube only allows 15 minute videos. Well, let's just say I rambled on a bit and ended up somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 minutes. Oops. Therefore, note that there are two clips attached. Please humor me by taking the time to watch both.

Have a great weekend! TF

Protesters can't get any .."Satisfaction (live 1969) HQ"

Shlaes: Wall Street Protesters Should Remember Stones Tune Need vs. Want

By Amity ShlaesOct 12, 2011 8:00 PM ETThu Oct 13 00:00:01 GMT 201119 Comments

What do they want, and what do they need? That’s the question about the protesters who now occupyWall Street, Washington and just about everywhere else. Theirs is what might be called a Rolling Stones situation: They can’t always get what they want, but if somebody tries, some time, they may get what they need.

Protesters want redress of a proximate wrong, or some“efforts to crack down on abusive practices” of Wall Street, as President Barack Obama put it last week. They need something more general: a job or a better job; cash or insurance for health bills; a way to pay off student loans. In other words, a stronger economy.

These days, political leaders typically respond to the want, and tend to overlook the need. After all, there’s nothing more dangerous to a politician than giving a compelling crowd the cold shoulder.

But history offers evidence that focusing on the want over the need can be destructive, even for the wanting. And asWashington’s response to an earlier protest movement -- the Bonus Army -- reveals, the converse also holds: When you get what you need, the wants seem a lot less urgent.

During the recession of the early 1920s, the U.S. was stuck in the same tired mood as today. Unemployment was as high as 15 percent in some cities. The more than 4 million men who had served in World War I had a hard time finding jobs, especially because almost 40 percent had returned from the war with injuries or disabilities. Amputations, in those pre-antibiotic days, were especially common.

There were not yet mass protests like those that would follow in the 1930s. Still, the veterans made their case with their physical presence in Washington. Legless soldiers stunned the crowds when they were carried out of trucks from Walter Reed hospital to attend Warren G. Harding’s inauguration.

It's not a site problem...

it's like DPH said...it's just a combination of cursor and key strokes tapped in the wrong place or sequence...basically bad timing of hitting a key. That's why I use Word, etc. juuuuuuuuuust case I screw up.

***Another possibility which I'm sure can account for many of my "gremlins" is that whenever I'm typing up something big I've usually had several big ass drinks in me...hence...screwing up my post and hitting the wrong keys at the wrong time and "poof"...gone.

Not that Backseat or any of the rest of you would ever be typing under the influence. wink Maybe if we're drunk and our most excellent post gets wiped out somehow before we can save it we can just call it a TUI. lol

DPH...

nice! I love documentaries like that. I'm going to have to get the book.

But for those who haven't heard of or who haven't bought and read The Creature From Jekyll Island: A Second Look At the Federal Reserve - by G. Edward Griffin yet, I highly recommend it!

The "Creature" should be required reading for everyone from high school on up. I will watch all the episodes of The Prize and compare w/ the information in The Creature.

A great way to get the book and score some silver is through Midas Resources: https://www.midasresources.com/store/store.php

You buy the book for 41 Bernankies and you get an old silver dollar w/ it for free. Plus free shipping. Once silver makes it's next run up eventually the book will end up being free due to the increased value of the silver dollar they send you! Can't beat that, and you'll read the best book ever on WTF has been going on since 1900.

Just sayin'... yes

Glenn Greenwald on the Iran story

The “very scary” Iranian Terror plot

By Glenn Greenwald Eric Holder

Attorney General Eric Holder speaks during a news conference at the Justice Department in Washington, Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 about an alleged plot directed by elements of the Iranian government to murder the Saudi Ambassador to the United States. (Credit: AP Photo/Haraz N. Ghanbari)

"The most difficult challenge in writing about the Iranian Terror Plot unveiled yesterday is to take it seriously enough to analyze it. Iranian Muslims in the Quds Force sending marauding bands of Mexican drug cartel assassins onto sacred American soil to commit Terrorism — against Saudi Arabia and possibly Israel — is what Bill Kristol and John Bolton would feverishly dream up while dropping acid and madly cackling at the possibility that they could get someone to believe it. But since the U.S. Government rolled out its Most Serious Officials with Very Serious Faces to make these accusations, many people (therefore) do believe it; after all, U.S. government accusations = Truth. All Serious people know that..."

I found this interesting. I read it yesterday when doing some digging.

More credibility gaps in US government’s story of Iranian plot

Claiming that the government of Iran hired a used-car salesman and a Mexican criminal drug gang that is known to be riddled with both Mexican and US intelligence agents to organize a hit against a Saudi ambassador on US soil is an insult to our intelligence By Michael Hoffman www.revisionisthistory.org

The Austin Statesman newspaper (Oct. 11 online) reported that Manssor Arbabsiar was arrested on a felony drug charge in 2010 and then all charges were dropped by the local prosecutor. Was this done in exchange for some kind of deal to become a patsy in this goofy “plot”? (The Austin Statesman took the report of the arrest down on Oct. 12 — see the “Correction” at the bottom of the page).

Watching Congress and the government’s mouthpiece media buying this story of a "plot" without question, automatically assuming the Federal prosecutor’s case is 100% infallible, that Iran is certainly guilty as charged, and then calling for sanctions and military action in response to what the media are calling (herehere and here): “Iran’s Act of War” — is testimony to the abysmally low mental state of "our" leaders.

Reuters reports that: "Kenneth Katzman, an Iran specialist at the Congressional Research Service, said there were elements of the alleged plot that did not make sense: 'The idea of using a Texas car salesman [suspect Manssor Arbabsiar] who is not really a Quds Force person himself, who has been in residence in the United States many years, that doesn't add up,' Katzman said. 'There could have been some contact on this with the Quds Force, but the idea that this was some sort of directed, vetted, fully thought-through plot, approved at high levels in Tehran leadership I think defies credulity."

I'm sorry EW

but Holder REALLY DOES look serious........maybe its constipation however.........never mind.... isn't it grand? I guess they think the sheeple still believe in yellow cake and mushroom clouds... "they bit once, so they'll bite again"....even if they don't bite we'll do whatever we want........ who's gonna stop us?

Pearls of wisdom

Turd-tastic videos by our host. To talk unscripted and so fluently for 25 minutes is an achievement in itself, more so with humour and self-deprecation amongst the serious stuff. He has previously acknowledged he was "wrong" on some calls. With the exception of Andy Hoffman, I know of no other prominent commentator/analyst whose ego has allowed for that word to be drawn from their lips or pen.

"We are all complicit," he remarked. Someone once said or wrote that every country has the government it deserves. How true.

What resonated most though is what he said about agreeing with 95% of what someone else believes only to take issue for having a differing opinion concerning the 5% with "you're fecking moron" or something less subtle but equally antagonistic that deserves to be removed.

Insight · Oct 15, 2011 - 1:01am

Great video, Turd, but it's really a shame that you even need

to do this! We all should be adults here...we have our fears about the future, so we're here to

figure out how to help ourselves...and Turd, you are the "helper-in-chief.'

Hate to say this, but if things get out of control you maybe should just shut down the comments.

It would be lousy, but it's an option.

I've turned off the TV so I now can avoid all "talk" and ditto for radio. It's meant to distract and divide.

It's just an echo chamber for Washington, D.C.

The truth is NO ONE has any answers, so everyone should stop putting too much faith in any

party or one person. That includes Ron Paul, by the way.

The fact is, we are basically on our own now, so we need to let Turd do his wonderful work IN PEACE!

We don't have to be on our own as a long as we have a good group here working together. So, let's keep it

a great place to go to to feel "safe" and "not alone." That's the value of Turd's vision, perhaps even more that the numbers

and charts.

THANKS, TURD!

FreedomWins Insight · Oct 15, 2011 - 1:22am

@ Insight

I've eliminated all low frequency vibrational TV (cleavage NBC) from my life. We are better off without the lies. No more lies. No more deception. We are spiritual beings awakening to our true purpose. Physical wealth is always better than digits on a screen. Hang in there guys. If they give us a sale, let's go shopping. As long as the matrix exists, the human race will never be free.

attention turd: dont let them hate you playa, hate the game!!!

Turd,

First time poster, big time fan.

I am new to the metals game but now i check your site religiously.

Please dont let a bunch of nobodies in the comment sections bring you down. You are doing great work and by the sheer number of hits and views your site gets daily, you know you are doing all the right things.

Whatever you do focus on continuing you brilliant work and word is already filtering down to my friends and collegues about your excellent site.

We have gone through a very tough time during the recent takedown, but if or should i say when your/our predictions come true, you will become an entity in your own right and should be stacking that cnbc talking head joke fiat money and a true celebrity in your own right.

long live the turd and fkkk all them haters.
