This may add a little support to price.......

https://www.zerohedge.com/article/fort-knox-us-gold-reserves-be-independ... Ron Paul 'plans to question U.S. Treasury officials next Thursday (June 23) about the U.S. gold reserves and get them to testify regarding the authenticity of the nation’s gold reserves. '

We're Saved! SPAIN "absolutely safe" !!! according to...

a bigshot from Deutsche Bank who spoke with Maria Bartiromo who managed to seque from throwing out the first ball in Chicago to landing at the economic forum in St. Petersburg, Russia this AM.

Yup, Spain is safe. On the other hand, this DB person is worrying about the Greek problem not getting solved and just hanging around for awhile.

Think SPAIN! LOL!!

Screwtape files also noted

Screwtape files also noted that the 144 day MA has been support for gold. Silver hit its 144 MA on May 12 and has been trending since. Daily MACD looks good for silver right now.

Cheap Eagles!

https://www.gainesvillecoins.com/

They are selling eagles at the moment for $2.44 over spot.

Time to seriously start worrying about Spain

Denial puts them next in line. No surprise here.

Is the Bubble Formation

Is the Bubble Formation broken out now???

Free Citizen · Jun 17, 2011 - 11:17am

USD, EURO, GBP Gold all near all-time highs

Just went to bullionvault.com and checked the hourly charts of gold in different currencies...and lo and behold they are all near spectacular breakouts. Mr. Sinclair and Mr. Turk look like their wisdom and experience has been spot on! Lord willing, a summer to remember... :)

LaMachinna · Jun 17, 2011 - 11:18am

Much worse than we know (really??)

https://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/features/2011/06/201161664828302638.html

In the US, physician Janette Sherman MD and epidemiologist Joseph Mangano published an essay shedding light on a 35 per cent spike in infant mortality in northwest cities that occurred after the Fukushima meltdown, and may well be the result of fallout from the stricken nuclear plant.

The eight cities included in the report are San Jose, Berkeley, San Francisco, Sacramento, Santa Cruz, Portland, Seattle, and Boise, and the time frame of the report included the ten weeks immediately following the disaster.

Silver for Gold

@ LaMachinna

I did some of this yesterday as my "Treasure Chest" was starting to get too heavy with all the ag...

It wasn't about the "deal", just wanted to get a little heavier in Au rather than Ag.

La Machinna

IMHO, with the GSR around 42ish, it's sort of a middling no mans land. Not high enough to swap for silver, not low enough to swap for gold.

Occasionally I swap for gold if a particular coin that I like comes to my local shop, but as far as major changes, no.

Gold and silver charts

Huge liftoff? Vertical rise?

Where do people come up with this? Unless we see a significant move (4-5%), please tone down the over the top comments.

Until gold clears $1550 (old London Fix highs) and stays there, there is nothing to get excited about.

erewenguy · Jun 17, 2011 - 11:29am

Streaming silver and gold charts?

Kitco charts require frequent refreshing to stay current. Are there streaming quotes for silver and gold for FreeStockCharts.com? XSLV and SGLD only give the previous day candlestick.

Canadian Zinc

Finally, some good news for CZN the past 2 weeks. The enivro assessment was moved to the next stage last week and today they announced they made a deal with the First Nations peoples whose land the Prairie Creek mine is on. At this point, things are on track. The stock is currently trading at nearly 48% off its 52 wk high...

It's a bit messy but hopefully some useful stuff. Work in progress!

beatlebum19 · Jun 17, 2011 - 11:50am

something big brewing for Silver

Silver has been in stand by mode it seems for the since the massacre, but you can't deny all of the evidence pointing towards a big rush over 50 possibly by the end of the summer. I know there is traditionally a summer doldrums but I think this year is a little different there's too many things going on for the EE to continue there suppressing of the market. I think by Sept we will see 50-55 silver and 1610-1640 gold. They're running out of ammo and we all know it.

Good company

Thanks for the Ron Paul link... anything to help me hang on... it's been a brutal year to be invested in the miners.

Clubfoolish · Jun 17, 2011 - 12:09pm

@ ewc - Canadian Zinc (CZICF)

Thanks for posting that link, I was busy on the USSIF conf call and didn't see the action on CZICF this morning!

good stuff... more steps towards getting environmental permits to operate the Prairie Creek mine later this year.

I'm pretty sure CZICF will be back in the 90s within 2 weeks, then up from there - it just had to work off the angst from that small private placement at 80 cents a couple of weeks ago.

Greece default

Am I the only one that sees a liquidity contraction if Greece defaults. When that happens it would trigger another 2008 scenario which would negativiley impact PMs. When lending stops everything will fall, equities, commodities.. everything. Then hello QE3

Invisible Hand Sterling · Jun 17, 2011 - 12:15pm

I'm hoping so. Late August

I'm hoping so. Late August maybe? I'd like to see 9.5 before then though.

Streaming silver and gold charts?

Netdania is a great site for charts "erewenguy!"

Go to the "Instruments" pull down and select silver or gold (many others)... lots of other options to play with, and all streaming data.

treefrog · Jun 17, 2011 - 12:29pm

imo the really big question

imo the really big question is how contagious will the greek clusterfuck/default become?

it's got everyone a little spooked.

we wait and we watch, pass the popcorn, it's the biggest show ever ... well, at least lately.
