Never Doubt Santa

Tue, Aug 9, 2011 - 4:24pm

Always keep in mind the two warnings that Santa has given us:

1) We are about to experience extreme volatility in gold. Check!

2) $1764 is the Final Frontier and will be vigorously defended by The Cartel. Check!

Also, remember the warning that I gave you on Sunday:

For now, no one can predict gold in the very short term. What I do know, however, is that gold will be higher one month from now, three months from now and six months from now. If you must trade, buy yourself plenty of time.

Vancouver Stores

I always use VCBE. Not a lot of selection in terms of different coins (only maples), but they usually have inventory, and the premiums are the best, even though they charge $4 USD over spot. The 10oz bars are always NTR and A-Mark, and are about $3 USD over spot. They also exchange USD at a point and a half, VS the norm bank 2.5 cent spread, which is nice if your exchanging a larger amount of USD.
JandM has the best selection i've seen in Van. The place is huge. I picked up a few kookaburras, pandas, eagles, and grizzlies the other day, but they were pretty expensive...i think the panda was about $9 over spot. That's where to go to get all the "exotic" coins, but be prepared to pay a pretty hefty premium. It's always nice to diversify the stash a little bit though, expecially at these sale prices!
Theres also bordergold in whiterock, but i haven't checked them out yet.

Hope that helps, keep stackin everyone!

1. There are only 15 ounces of silver out there for every ounce of gold. This fact alone sets the price for silver at $113.00 per ounce.

What the hell is that paper silver? There are 3 ounces of Gold for every ounce of Silver per Ted Butler and Israel Friedman. They've been around following Silver and inventory levels since the 1970's at least.

China’s trade surplus widens more than forecast

mkitchen[at]marketwatch[dot]com (Michael Kitchen), MarketWatch

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) — Chinese trade surplus widened sharply in July, boosted by above-forecast export growth and offering an upbeat sign for the country’s economy.

The trade surplus expanded to $31.5 billion, from June’s $22.27 billion, according to customs data released Wednesday.

A Reuters survey of economists had projected a $27.5 billion surplus, while a Dow Jones Newswires survey had tipped a $26 billion surfeit.

Export growth for the month accelerated to 20.4%, outpacing 17.9% in June and above the Dow Jones Newswires forecast of 17.5% and Reuters forecast of 17.4%.

Imports also accelerated, rising 22.9% in July compared to 19.3% in June. This outpaced the 22.3% Reuters projection, but lagged the 23.2% tipped by the Dow Jones survey.

howdy neighbor. I'm in Suwannee County but looking to buy a bit more land than I have now. I'm a bit partial to Madison County due to it's rural set up. I did look a some places in Montecello. Maybe we should have a regional chapter.

in case anyone cares...

Looks like the repubs maintained 4 of the 6 seats that were up for grabs in the Wisconsin recall elections.

Unions spent $30 million on this and the second set of recall elections go up next week.

Another nod to VBCE. I've bought some Maples from J&M but only when VBCE has been sold out, their premiums are a bit steeper.

VBCE's prices can't be beat for the stock that they carry.

Border Gold in White Rock ( is affiliated with VBCE somehow and has a more varied selection of product.

I find J&M just too much hassle to deal with but it's a fabulous shop.

If you want the fancy coins, etc. you're going to pay a bit more for them.

BTW, last time I bought any quantity at VBCE, necessitating a bank draft drawn at Royal Bank on Hastings, they were starting to actively record every significant transaction from Royal Bank to VBCE. Banks are watching these transactions and VBCE is under a microscope so to speak so try to buy often and in small amounts of cash (<CAD$3K) if you can.
