Craig Hemke, aka "Turd Ferguson," was a licensed securities "professional" for nearly twenty years. Disgruntled by the fraud known as "financial services", he retired to a career as a serial entrepreneur in 2008. Though otherworldly in his ability to forecast price movements, The Turd is NOT a soothsayer, a psychic or a witch. After all these years, he simply has a decent understanding of the forces at play in the precious metal "markets".

You can reach The Turd by visiting the Contact page and selecting "Speak to The Turd" or you can simply send him an email at turd[at]tfmetalsreport[dot]com. If you are polite and not belligerently arrogant, he will probably answer you in short order. If he does not answer you, do not be offended. He's a busy guy and there are only so many hours in a day.

Weekly Wrap-Up

It was a lousy week that ended on an up tick. The charts are painted with red weekly candles but just finishing well leaves a positive impression along the lines of "it's how you end the week that matters".

Again, it's not that the frustration of Tuesday-Thursday doesn't matter but it...

We knew this would be a long and grueling week simply due to the record FOURTEEN Fed Goon appearances. Those clowns have had their desired rhetorical impact as June rate hike odds have risen from 0% to 40% over the course of the week. But, hey, at least it's Friday.

As for remaining...

Oh, isn't it fun to be a precious metals enthusiast? Every day brings laughter and joy as you watch...random headlines from disqualified Fed Goons be utilized as cover to repeatedly smash price lower and lower.

So I woke up this morning, not knowing where the Comex PMs might be trading...

Another Day Of Soaring POSX

After breaking out of its downtrend and looking to double bottom near 101, the concern became that the POSX would make a move toward 103 and, in doing so, drag the Comex metals down. That was last week. And now here we are.

And to what do we ascribe this POSX rally? Well, there's that...

Periods like this are certainly challenging and difficult. The buying interest in CDG has dried up for now and price just drifts lower while the smash of last week has temporarily destroyed sentiment in CDS. What are we to do besides wait it out?

The data doesn't much matter, either....

Aw, jeez. What a lousy way to start the week. Your host barely recuperates from the pain of last week, only to find that this week will bring a record FOURTEEN Fed Goon appearances. This list includes everything from TV interviews, Congressional testimony and even a commencement speech....

I don't know about you but yours truly is having a difficult time getting restarted after the beating we took in Comex Digital Silver yesterday. I'm trying to remember the last time CDS rallied 5% out of the blue and I can't come up with anything. Those moves are always to the downside....

Since the publication of the macrocast back in early January, we've warned that the first half of 2023 was likely to bring several false starts that would be designed to leave you "wrong-footed" and dismayed ahead of the actual breakout and rally to come in the second half of the year. We are...

Today's key datapoint was the latest update on inflation at the consumer level in the U.S. As we've been expecting, it showed a steady increase at the month-over-month level however, when you replace April 2022 with April 2023, the year-over-year level declined to under 5.0% for the first time...

Today is shaping up to be much like yesterday....quiet, low volume, algo-driven by random headlines. Which is fine, I guess, given that Wednesday-Friday is going to get volatile.

About the only (scheduled) item we still need to navigate today will be the pontifications of Most-dested...
