On With Reluctant Preppers

Back on Monday, we had the opportunity to discuss de-dollarization and all of the other risks to the US$. Given that this was also a prominent theme around here yesterday, I though that this interview deserved its own thread.

Here are the notes from Dunagan that accompany the discussion:

True to form, 2018 is playing out along three key trends which appear destined to shape the next chapter of our shared economic lives. Craig Hemke, founder of TFMetalsReport.com, returns to confirm his predictions from January of 2018, and to point out where these themes are taking us. Hemke reminds us that no matter our differences, we're all in this together, so it's worth our while to become more aware and better prepared!

In his energetic & witty manner, Hemke relates common-sense observations that bring complex financial and political issues down to earth and make this interview a great one to share with your family, friends, and co-workers!

Blessings,

~DK

Thanks for taking the time to give this a listen.

Yesterday I talked about another country, Germany, that’s looking into a payments system, ala SWIFT, that’s outside of the U.S.’s control… And then I saw that France was joining up with Germany on this… In the aftermath of a report that Germany was working on a global payment system that is independent of the US and SWIFT, on Monday Germany and France said they’re working on financing solutions to sidestep U.S. sanctions against countries such as Iran, including a possible role for central banks.

China was first… Then Russia… now Germany and France… Pretty soon, the writing will be on the wall for the dollar… But then I’ve always thought that President Trump was a low interest rates, weaker dollar kind of guy… So, he won’t be upset if the dollar gets weaker because of the ability of Central Banks around the world, to deplete their dollar reserves…

While we wait for the next afternoon metals smash, here is a short video that might be informative to the group.

All the deep state players are part of the Senior Executive Service, which puts them above the law for the most part. It's how these corrupt losers are able to keep their security clearances after they are fired or retire. This is good information, many of you may not be aware of the SES. I was not until recently. This helps explain how the deep state works. This is not a Red/Blue issue, the deep state and SES are higher allegiances than the crooks have to any one political party.

OK - I got roped into a golf tournament yesterday. I played ad nauseam for a decade and could care less if I play again, EXCEPT to spend time with the few I like. My ex-father-in-law invited me and I went, as a girl I had not seen in a decade would be my partner. She's now married and has an 11 year old. Her husband is a firefighter, who has a "nice" pension coming (ha ha). In catching up, she asked me some financial questions and hence I was able to learn more about their thinking. Here is what surprised me...

1. They think his pension is going to get them through a modest retirement. (The city is bankrupt)

2. They have no savings other than their home equity. (Prices are nuts right now and I'm even tempted to sell and move)

3. I asked if they were concerned about what is going on in the schools with what I call indoctrination. (No clue but said that concerns her)

4. She is thinking about getting a job now that the kid is older as they want more income (bravo - good idea)

5. They don't even watch the news as it is an "expletive world" right now

My point? I get this more than not and although my sample size is small, I believe the vast majority have no clue what is going on. I think many of these people live in a fictitious world and need to be educated so they are not victims of indoctrination.

Heed this video. Turd, your disclaimers are to be lauded, but it may be worse than many think. Timing is tough, at best, as you point out. Keep educating - it is a real service. I subscribed this year as you confirmed what I have felt for years. It's valuable stuff and it's a great community as those on this site help to educate each other!

P.S. Oh yeah, she wants to be fitted for a custom set of clubs for her birthday and wanted to know if I could get her into the fitting center at a company I had connections with! (What's wrong with this thinking!)

but similar people here where I am ..I will say which I am grateful for..

my small cul de sac..12 houses or so..most of us have been here at least 20 yrs

and while traveling trips are taken, the life styles are modest.

I use a clothes line in my front yard and another neighbor has a folding drying

rack. Several have gotten into gardening more. And quite a few have 'skills'

with tools/fixing household problems and are generous to help others.

I do not take any of this for granted!

have been talking about ses for a while now and I believe Q has also mentioned them.

the last administration put most of the ses people in place..believe I saw the 7000 number.

thought I had read they are untouchable so I say don't fund them..thus no salaries.

when someone (individual, nation, group, etc) dumps their USD-based currencies, or security, or gold, or silver, or payment system (SWIFT) or global market (oil) etc... for what do they receive in exchange that is not merely some other form of the USD??

That this is possible is the premise upon which all other de-dollarization discussions and analysis are based. But it is not possible.

Again- If one de-dollarizes by dumping something that is USD based, ... what do they receive in return that is not USD based?

  • the shanghai futures contracts merely switched from being based on one form of the USD to another form of the USD.
  • Russia exchanged it's USD based treasuries for USD based gold (contracts/warehouse receipts)

Bob lives on Earth. But Bob is moving 400 miles to Mississippi.

thumbnail of template <-- Earth - Mississippi --> mississippi-county-map.jpg

When people move from one place to another they leave the place they originally were right?

So then Bob is leaving planet Earth when he moves to MS. De-Earthization, it's happening!! (according to the flawed reasoning)

But Bob is still on planet Earth. hmmm....?

(Yes, all the other currencies are just different forms of the USD. Just like all other more specific locations on Earth are still on planet Earth)

Earth.Mississippi is still Earth, just a more specific subordinate Earth location.

USD/CNY is still USD, just a more regionally (China) recognized and accepted form of the USD.

... I know, none of the above matters because Jim Rickards says Bob is leaving Earth when he moves to Mississippi. please disregard.

SS121 · Aug 29, 2018 - 12:10pm

that the CNY is a USD based currency? or that MS is on planet Earth?

Either way, please PM me your more detailed personal suggestions regarding my need for help. thanks

You think you're speechless! I drove home waiting for my head to explode. People, for the most part, haven't a clue. The USA has had one heck of a run, but it can't continue forever. It's at a turning point fairly soon in my opinion.

You sound very smart. A family friend asked two of my brothers, at separate times, what was the best thing our father taught us. Both said frugality. I concur. We all live great lives, but below our means, and will pass what's left on to the next generation.

So part of the failures of school education is Home Economics?

Mr. Micawber to David Copperfield: ‘Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 19 [pounds] 19 [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 20 pounds ought and six, result misery.’

I don`t think I`ll watch that again, too powerful and depressing, thanks for posting though, awards well deserved.

lnardozi SS121 · Aug 30, 2018 - 2:52pm

Not to belabor a point but if you have rubles and you want to pay for something priced in yuan, you have to sell your rubles and buy dollars. Then you can use your dollars to buy yuan. Dedollarization make the dollar step unnecessary, which mostly eliminates the voracious demand for dollars. I'm not going to argue about it any more, I just thought that maybe you really didn't know.

Cheers,

Louis

If Bob moves to Mississippi, he really is leaving Earth. Been there. Got the hell out mucho pronto.

Here is a failure to communicate." There are points being sent on both sides of the string, here. But the receivers are not getting the message the senders are putting out, (both sides), for a number of reasons, pride not the least, which causes frustration and disinterest, instead of the opposite, which really is the common over-riding intention. See it every day at work.

Let's try to do better at understanding and asking questions. Y'all are pretty smart group of turdites.

Just say'n.
