The updated TFMR is up and running!

As you've no doubt noticed, the revamped TFMR is a complex beast. There are all sorts of updates and added capabilities and this will make the experience for all of us here even better.

The old site was built on a Drupal platform in 2011 and a lot has changed over the years as technology has surged forward. Think of trying to use your 2011 Blackberry to access all of 2018's apps and websites. Going forward, our new site will eliminate the issues we've had with Apple products. It was also end the frustrating cycle of forced logins/logouts. It also has complete mobile capability. And a whole bunch more new stuff that I don't even know about yet.

So, thank you for your patience as we work out the bugs and get acquainted with everything. New and improved can sometimes feel frustrating and unnecessary, however, in this case, it was completely necessary and worthwhile.

As you know, I'm away from Turdfork this weekend as MrsF and I are visiting LT#1 at college. (And boy-oh-boy do I have a raging headache today from too many beers at the local Oktoberfest last evening!) I had promised everyone a podcast this morning but, frankly, I don't know yet how to post one! So, just this quick update.

In Comex gold, It was great to see price close at $1230 yesterday. That's another GREEN weekly candle and maintaining above $1200 and $1220 is very important in terms of a bullish/hopeful chart configuration. For next week, the goal remains a close above the 100-day moving average and then $1240 as this will engender even more Spec short-covering.

And as you can see on the gold CoT below, a MASSIVE move in Spec short-covering already took place back on Thursday the 11th when price surged through the 50-day and ended up $34 on the day. We'll discuss this more on Monday.

In Comex silver, that reverse H&S we've been discussing continue to trace out. On the weekly chart, getting back above and staying back above $14.50 is seemingly an important development. As expected, the move in the silver CoT wasn't nearly as dramatic as it was in gold.

Again, thank you for your patience as we get restarted and Ron and his team work out any kinks that suddenly appear. Have a great weekend and I look forward to next week.

"Right now I don't see a way too upload saved pics of CoT charts"

You just need to use the URL of the Twitter image.

Click the image in Twitter, right click and select "Copy Image Location". Then click the image icon on the toolbar and paste the URL.

"Is there any way to tell how many and where the new posts start? And where's the preferences button to add my big yellow strip?"

See the lengthy comment I posted earlier on the thread about the number of new posts and how it relates to growing the site.

As for a big yellow strip, you'll have to take that up with TF.

"takes for ever to log in and

"takes for ever to log in and view turds daily post. Also NO date on when the post was was posted unless you open."

As I mentioned in the first post, we're still working through a few performance-related issues. It's going to take a little time to get everything working smoothly, although I would say things are already much more improved from where they were last night.

Regarding dates on home page items, that's an item for Craig to decide.

So as I asked on other comments, did you accept cookies from the bar displayed at the bottom? This all has to do with the GDPR law passed by the EU earlier this year regarding accepting cookies and javascript on websites.

What is the message you are seeing?

I'd appreciate if you can give us time to work through launch issues. Thank you.

"Just to echo previous posts, have we lost the ability to see the date of Turd's daily posts? Also, being able to "jump" to unread posts was really useful, I hope this was a minor oversight and will be rectified soon."

"Like others, I'll note a few items that used to seem helpful:

  • Subject on comments
  • Some sort of color scheme. Visually I knew I was looking at TMFR by the colors that were it's brand.
  • The jump to unread comments function.

Concur with those requesting short tutorial on how posting works (WYSIWYG?), where pictures must reside to be seen, new features we were hearing about long ago, etc. Perhaps as a static page found from the main menu so we can point new folks to it (and remind ourselves)."

We decided to remove subject on comments because there is no other site that I know of which does this. Our goal has been to keep making the site as simple as possible, and "Subject" was never a required field. If this is something that Craig deems as important to what TFMR does, it can be re-added.

As for color scheme, Craig has full control over these settings and they can be modified on his command. As I've mentioned on earlier posts, what we have built is a platform for delivering a unique website experience.

As for how posting works, the only difference is images need a URL to be posted. Everything else about posting comments is 100% the same as before. In fact I think the editor buttons are in the same order they were before too.

I have commented here about some features: https://www.tfmetalsreport.com/comment/683789#comment-683789

I would say the biggest one for subscribers is the ability to access subscriber-only podcasts via iTunes. That can be accessed through the "Features" tab on your user profile, or right below the podcast on every podcast page.

Also the ability to create charts in TradingView and embed them into your comment, and much better management of stored credit card information.

We also have created a landing page for each Contributor so you can easily see all their information and posts in which they have participated:

https://www.tfmetalsreport.com/contributors

https://www.tfmetalsreport.com/users/jim-willie

And new and updated charts:

https://www.tfmetalsreport.com/charts

Regarding summarizing this information, sure, we'll post this into a forum post once we've collected the details.

Did you accept cookies from the bar at the bottom? Hmmm, I'm wondering if you are also getting blocked by the spam filter... what is the exact message it is telling you?
