Wrapping 2017 With JBSFC

Wed, Dec 20, 2017 - 11:00am

A consequential year in the New Cold War comes to an end and John and Steve are here to wrap it all up and look ahead to 2018.

Another great history lesson last evening as John and The Professor recall the events surrounding the end of the Soviet Empire and the early days of Boris Yeltsin's presidency. Many Western/NATO mistakes were made back then and the effects continue to ripple today.

We are all extraordinarily grateful for John and Steve's diligence in broadcasting these weekly discussions. Let's hope they continue this service in 2018.

The Professor was especially sharp

....must have been using crib notes. Indeed, I totally forgot about the root cause of American hostility to the Russian Olympic team, namely the 'urine sample' debacle from 2008.

Using all our resources.... MIT, the CIA and whatever other acronym we had to throw at it, no one ever figured out how 'they' were able to tamper with the samples and leave no trace. Damn those Russians are smart! Wait a minute, it wasn't the Russians that achieved this remarkable slight of hand, it was Putin! Putin that fucker, did it to us again!

Russian Doping Scandal movie on NetFlix

called Icarus if anyone is interested in the story. Included, is the part about how they circumvented the tops on the bottles/urine testing. Was a great documentary/movie.

John B Podcast

I have subscribed to his podcasts--most are very interesting and educational and I can try to squeeze them into my free time. I still have Ipods so I can work out or run and listen (or when I go shopping with the little lady). The conversations really flow well. Craig, thanks for the introduction to JB and his guests

Icarus is a scathing attack on the Russian Athletic program

It certainly appears credible insofar as the existence of doping. The urine swap evidence, though not conclusive, is very strong. Whether responsibility goes beyond the Russian testing lab and immediate government oversight does however, remain in question.

It is a tale of deceit and corruption in Russia however, given the level of illegal activity and homicide that we suspect occurred during both Clinton administrations (Bill's presidency and Hillary's while guiding the Obama presidency), it would not surprise me if something equally sinister occurred in Russia that cost the lives of Russians due to these damning disclosures.

If one takes into consideration the elaborate cost and timely preparation involved in the production of this documentary, one also must consider the motivation and support involved in its production. It is possible that US intelligence had long suspected the Russians of doping; all they needed to know was how they were doing it. Reallly, I don't think it was all that hard for them to figure it out, especially since Grigory Rodchenkov was a bit of loose cannon and quite willing to disclose all kinds of sensitive information even while on camera. The question was all about timing (to coincide with the Sochi Winter Olympics (the location being a major incentive for an all out effort by Russia) and how it came to pass that Putin was involved in re-instating Rodchenkov to head the anti-doping lab (as the film suggests he did).

As acknowledged during the film, EVERYBODY was guilty of doping but if a trap could be cleverly devised (all captured on film by the CIA and neatly documented), that exposed a shameless and state-sponsored doping program in Russia.... now that would be a prize. It would serve as a major condemnation of Putin himself being a corrupt and diabolical figure, nothing more than a KGB thug and a man whose hands were stained with the blood of anyone vulnerable in this conspiracy.

That's not to say it isn't true. Maybe it is... but IMHO, I think there is a lot of political and espionage intrigue here that isn't being mentioned.

Ukraine arms

Maybe they wanted their gold back and we agreed to give them lead and copper?

We've been sending them arms under the table, now it's just official. Possible Trump wanted some fiat rather than free.

It does suck tho.

Re: An unwelcome development

This is what happens when the crimes of the previous administration go unchecked. The permanent under-government continues to roll with the Deep State plan, contaminating the present government and stitching in their complicity into the whole process.

Gotta get a kinetic war going someplace or the Bankers all get blamed for the coming hyper-inflationary collapse. Heads on sticks?

After all, no one wants to be carrying a "bad reputation" into a world trying to restart civilization in a nuclear waste land.

Such lovely choices we are left, if only they would ask us to choose.

unwelcome in Ukraine

Read about that. They call them 'defensive lethal' which I suppose means that they're not equipping them with long range, laser guided missiles among other things..... maybe.

I also read just yesterday I believe it was, that Russian and Kiev 'observers' have been recalled from the Donbas. Very not good.

Perhaps they will share the same sh!t they give to the Saudis and have been using in Yemen.

Cluster-bombs, phosphorus munitions. The stuff that the US refuses to sign on to world Treaties banning these horrific weapons.

Banning, in US terms, is everybody BUT us!

US marines encouraged not to utter name "Russia"

But that pig-fucker Neller goes there and pumps'em up with his particular brand of total and utter bullshit!!

I would like to see this sob prosecuted one day for being a principal actor in attempting to instigate war.

Let the sentence befit the crime.
