One Last JBSFC For 2015

Wed, Dec 23, 2015 - 9:47am

It has been a wild, eventful year in The New Cold War. With their final discussion of 2015, Mr. Batchelor and Professor Cohen summarize the events of this past year in Ukraine and Syria and they look ahead to what may be an extremely dangerous 2016.

Again, these are the only fair and objectives discussions of The New Cold War that you will find anywhere in the western media. We are so incredibly fortunate to have John and Steve sharing these insights with us each week and we highly value their continued efforts next year.

Last night's program was as compelling and valuable as all the rest have been as both Ukraine and Syria are discussed, with special emphasis again on Ukraine, where the government is in disarray ( Also, the decision by the IMF to break protocol and allow Ukraine to receive funds even while in default is astonishing and not enough has been made of this fiasco. ( No doubt, this move by the US/IMF will only serve to accelerate the construction/completion of the "alternative financial architecture" of Russia, China et al.

Please be sure to make some time to listen to this program...maybe while wrapping gifts or driving to your relative's for the holidays. It is simply a must listen for anyone wishing to stay current and up-to-date on the rapidly changing landscape of The New Cold War.

The podcast shows a date of

The podcast shows a date of 12/8/15. However, having listened to the entire program last evening, I can assure you that the date listed is incorrect. This is the program from last night.

Jim Quinn has seen "The Big Short"

And he really liked it:

Please go see the movie over the holidays and take someone who is still "in the dark" with you.

Also, you should be sure to simply read the book! As I've often stated, reading "The Big Short" in 2010 was one of the key factors in turning Craig into "Turd". Buy it today. In fact, buy two copies today and give one away to a friend. And absolute MUST READ.

First and a thought

Thanks for posting these podcasts Craig

It helps to keep my troubles in perspective when I listen to the chaos outside of our boarders, in fact my troubles are really minor inconveniences

My pleasure silver66

As you know, this site is MUCH MORE than just a precious metals site. We're concerned with THE BIG PICTURE here, not just simply where gold and silver are headed tomorrow or next week.

And to everyone, this post will serve as your morning post for today. Lots of Ferguson Family holiday activities today so nothing else until the podcast.

Gold, silver and the stock market are performing almost exactly as expected from last night's podcast. Expect gold to continue to drift toward $1065 before bouncing again. Can it finish next week above $1080 is the only question of interest, at present. Silver has $14 as support and I'm still just hoping for a close next Thursday at/near/above $14.40.

And, in a stunning development, the S&P continues to drift higher toward a close next Thursday north of 2059, therefore just barely eeking out a green year and a positive return for 2015.

I find it slightly disingenious

... for Prof. Cohen to say he doesn't know why there are people in the US wanting al-Assad to be replaced immediately. The reason is very clear; because Israel wants Syria to be total chaos just like Libya and just like Iraq. Surely in view of his ethnic background he must be aware of what Israel seeks in respect of a 'Greater Israel' and where Israel's shills are to be found.

Michael Lewis

His next book after "The Big Short" was "Boomerang: Travels in the New Third World" and it is also a great book that deals with how totally insolvent the governments are around the planet INCLUDING the U.S.. He wrote it in an effort to find out where the next "big short" was and it is clear that it is in the sovereign debt arena.

Happy Yuletide

The shortest day and longest night are now behind us. Happy Yuletide and may the sun rise higher in the sky again now that Winter Solstice has passed.

Yes, there are some questions about ISIS origin and US involvement, but don't mistake the lack of effective military action with complicity. See this: But also see this. Much of this can be traced to Woody's impossible and ludicrous Rules of Engagement:

Germany Breaks With US Over Syrian War

Germany Breaks With US Over Syrian War, Warns Obama “May Be Insane”

A new Ministry of Defense (MoD) report circulating in the Kremlin states that at a meeting of top Federation and Bundeswehr (Unified Armed Forces of Germany) military officers earlier today in Damascus, Syria, one of Germany’s top intelligence officials stated that this European nation has now broken with American “polices, aims and goals” in regards to the Levant War Zone and further warned that President Barack Obama “may be insane”.

With the Pentagon deliberately deceiving President Obama and the CIA by giving their intelligence to Germany to secretly pass to Syria, this report continues, this BND officer stated that the American leader “may be insane” due to his not even knowing what his own government/military/intelligence services are doing in a war that has such grave and historic implications for the entire world.

Insanity..........Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

@ rxman

Very interesting post, thanks.

The one point I would make though,

"Insanity........Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result."

It is not insanity because they are doing the same thing over and over, knowing exactly what the result will be!

RE: Everything about Ted Cruz is BAD

BroBoy says:

"First he tells us that the President must kneel and pray first thing every morning or he is not fit to be President (what?? do American's buy that crap?) Second , his wife is Goldman Sachs (can't believe he has gotten this far just given that alone!) and third, he uses his children as political props (clearly and disgustingly) and then cries when the Washington Post calls him on it. Three strikes and you're out"

I guess it's fair to presume that you prefer a Godless, childless candidate with an unemployed wife?

free stuff and misc

I had a Craigslist ad to give away some horizontal blinds that came out of a house we are remodeling. One nice young Mom showed up to take one of them. It's funny how the people that show up to get free stuff are always rolling in a nicer, newer car than what I drive.

But then, they are probably not watching the markets, trying to get a position on. I put in a stink bid yesterday for UVXY but didn't get filled. I thought that with the shortened market day today that maybe volatility would decrease and I could get filled. Seems to be going the other way right now, but hey its not worth chasing.

Later and Merry Christmas everyone.
