I'm just generally tired, so I'm taking the day off. Here's an "open" thread.

If you haven't seen it yet, below is the CBC documentary, graciously supplied by "forwhomthetollbuilds". Very kind of him to take the time to record and upload. All three parts are below. Part III is the only one of real interest.

Obviously, the producers chose to exclude the information which I was hoping would finally begin to see the light of day. Thus the title of this post. I'll try to pick up my armor and rejoin the fight next week but, for now, I can't help but feel a bit dispirited.

Have a good day and try to remember to play nice, keeping in mind, of course, The Golden Rule.

Bank report

My wife calls me everyday when she gets out of work to tell me she is on her way home and to see if I need anything because we live a significant distance from town. Today I told her to go to the bank and get as much cash as she could because with the events, who the hell knows what is going to happen. We do bank at a small local bank. She just called me and said the bank experience was very strange. She was first told that the computers are all offline to which she replied she wanted her money anyway. They were able to obtain the balance from yesterday and gave her some cash.

She went on to say that the employees of the bank were acting very strangely and seemed scared and several of them asked the manager if they were staying late tonight to "deal with this".

I live 90 miles from Boston. My opinion, and this is only my opinion, is that something wierd is going down with the banks this weekend. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Signs are here kids.

Signs of Last Days

Note the increasing of violence.

Matt 24:1 Departing now, Jesus was on his way from the temple, but his disciples approached to show him the buildings of the temple.2In response he said to them: “Do YOU not behold all these things? Truly I say to YOU, By no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thrown down.”

3While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the ((((sign of your presence)))) and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

4And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU;5for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.6YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

7“For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another.8All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

9“Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. ( yeah that's us) 10Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another.11And many false prophets will arise and mislead many;12and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off.13But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.14And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. (being done world wide for over 100 years by JW.s NOW)

2 Tim 3:1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here.2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self‐assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal,3having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self‐control, fierce, without love of goodness,4betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,5having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.

2 Pet 3:3 For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires4and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”

5For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God;6and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water.7But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men.

G20 meeting just wrapped up

I thought it was interesting that G20 had a meeting in Washington that has just wrapped up. Interesting notes just released by Reuters, follow link for more.

India seems to have some issues with USD.

INDIA FINANCE MINISTER P. CHIDAMBARAM ON EUROPE/RICH WORLDS: "Unless Europe gets its act together and unless the green shoots that we see in the U.S. actually flower and become solid plants and unless Japan does the near impossible task of reflating its economy and having inflation of 2 percent - unless these major economies show life and growth, how is it that developing and emerging market economies can achieve high growth?"

@strongsidejedi

You state, "I avoid predictions at all costs!"

Really?

What's the point of being a scientist if you are unable to predict anything?

Whoa, nelly, that's not what I meant at all! I avoid predictions of macroeconomic indicators and asset prices at all costs, because I don't think they can be predicted.

My type of research is actually geared specifically towards prediction. I love it, it's what I do, but it also means I know when information is neither sufficient or cohesive enough to make accurate predictions, and that's when I avoid it all costs.

COT not at all what we expected!

Turd - How can the price move by such a large degree and the COT barely budges?? Relative to the price move there were barely any longs dumps or shorts added. I really don't understand how that can happen.

@nonoverlapping - did you answer my question from yesterday?

You've stated that you have scientific training. That's nice. So, do I.

You state, "I avoid predictions at all costs!"

Really?

What's the point of being a scientist if you are unable to predict anything?

The entire point of science is that nature follows predictable patterns and rules.

Do you not believe that science is based upon fundamental laws of nature?
