In It To Win It

No change here, today. Long, strong and defiant.

Finally! Just one more day to go. Yes, the U.S. election is tomorrow and I'm excited to finally get it over. Not because of the market uncertainty or any excitement for a candidate. I can't wait for all of the political ads to be off the airwaves! I can't turn on my TV without seeing an ad where I learn that Candidate X screws everything that walks but his opponent, Candidate Y, actually eats children for breakfast. What a freaking joke. No wonder so many of my fellow countrymen have turned on and tuned out.

Speaking of the U.S. election, many pundits claim that it's a toss-up and too close to call. Maybe. Hard to say for sure, I guess. Therefore, I give you the only true indicator I know of: Betting lines. Of course these could be wrong, too, but folks that are willing to actually part with cash on the outcome would seem to be more in-tuned than most. So, I checked with my favorite, online wagering site and here's what I found:

2012 US Presidential Election - Winner is determined by who receives Majority Electoral Votes
Barack Obama
Mitt Romney

This means that, in order to make $100 on an Obama victory, you have to wager $300. A $100 wager on Romney will make you $250 is he wins. So, here we are, 24 hours out and Romney is a 5/2 underdog.

Pretty much tells me all I need to know for tomorrow.

Here's something fun and constructive, instead. This video, from JS Kim, tells us to protest the system, not by voting for Obama or Romney but by buying an ounce of silver or gold, instead.

I think this is a wonderful idea and I second JS's motion. Here, I'll even make it easy for you. You can easily do so by clicking any of the three links below. The first is to our only current affiliation, the Hard Assets Aliance, and the other two will take you directly to the sites of two of our advertising partners, Provident Metals and JM Bullion.

You might also consider "flipping the bird" by picking up some mining shares. Another one of our advertisers is a web-based service called Mining Stock Valuator. If you're trading the miners and have not yet checked out their service, I strongly encourage you to do so. They provide a great service and they're loyal Turdites, to boot.

I found the article below to be interesting. Not that it uncovers anything new but it states the argument well. It's especially timely following the shenanigans of Friday.

Mike Krieger has been following the events in NYC pretty closely, which isn't necessarily surprising since he used to live there. As you know, the 2nd Amendment has been completely disregarded by the worthless politicians in that area, so this article, sadly, should come as no surprise. Take it for what it's worth but The Turd, by design, lives in an area where guns are still legal.

Lastly, if you haven't read this interview of Max Keiser, you probably should. Regardless of what you think of Max, he is working his fanny off trying to spread the word regarding the global banker monarchy.

That's all for today. Sorry for the late and somewhat abbreviated post but it's going to be a crazy week around the Ferguson household. MrsF is having surgery tomorrow to rearrange some of her plumbing. This makes me Mr. Mom for the remainder of the week so I'm afraid that what you see is what you get for a while. Thanks in advance for your patience and, rest assured, if anything really crazy happens in the metals, I'll make time to cover it.

Have a great day!

Today's silver action

For what it's worth (nuthin').

Silver has spent the NY trading day attempting to set a base at around $31.
A great relief as I fully expected to be closing in on $30 by now.  If we can build on $31, closing the day at or near $31.50, I still hold some hope for tomorrow.  If we can't hold onto $31, then I expect that we'll see $30.25 and potential plunge lower.  Nonetheless, I've backed out of a bit of my mining stocks.

Invasion from Holland!!!

Hi All. I live in an area just outside D.C.  I was stopped by 3 young ladies from Holland walking home from lunch today. They were petitioning me for my Obama vote, I shit you not. So I asked you are all from Holland, not U.S. citizens and are campaigning for Obama. The response was yes to all. I then asked why they were for Obama and they responded that they believe he is bringing real change. I then went on to give my perspective that my vote doesn’t matter and that it doesn’t matter who gets elected because the people at the bottom never matter and have never mattered since man has been walking the planet; they seemed to disagree. They also seemed disturbed when I told them that I never vote. I know the score. I also told them why I don’t vote. Like Jesse Ventura says, it’s the special interests first, then the party, then the people at the very bottom.  I told them that the system is corrupt and owned by powerful Wall Streeters. I told them about the 41 year fiat currency bubble that the world is resting on. I mentioned Ron Paul and none of them knew who he is. And I told them that the system is about to collapse no matter who is in power and that they should be in real assets like gold & silver and out of paper. Hope they will take my advice…but they probably will not. Got to love the sheeple…

Speaking of Holland, didn't they have some sort of tulip mania out there some time ago ;)

The irony is so thick...

Turd - I understand

Taking care of children is the toughest job out there.  Relax and focus on the kids - don't worry about us.  We will all still be here when you get back.

Well, except for the trolls as the price of silver/gold will be higher upon your return.

How Appropriate

To seemingly celebrate the 2012 Election, the US Mint today sent me this ad for the 2012 Denali 5 ounce ATB coin. Featuring, the Great American Sheep! Now there is some symbolism if ever I saw it.

The United States Mint is proud to offer the 2012 America the Beautiful Five-Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin honoring Alaska’s breath-taking Denali National Park and Preserve. This three-inch coin contains .999 fine silver and features an image of North America’s tallest peak – iconic Mount McKinley – on the tails side with a Dall sheep in the foreground.

Exercise your right to vote (great video)

Which of these make more of an impact on the world?

1) Buying an ounce of silver (and/or gold)

2) Voting for the president

food for thought

i like to vote more than once

I will be voting

Dont get me wrong with the sheep posting.  Sheep take many forms. I will be voting tomorrow.  If you want to fall prey to Obama supporters encouraging you not to vote then so be it.  It is the only strategy they have left.  There are a lot of good reasons as a constitutional conservative not to support Romney and I understand them all.  This is not directed at anyone here who says not to vote, but you may be falling prey to the overwhelming noise I hear from the left encouraging others not to vote because it serves their purpose.  You may really believe that it doesn't matter and that is your right.  Myself, I think it might still matter, and I am not prepared to give up all hope yet that my vote doesnt matter.  Maybe your right, but maybe your not.  That is all I am saying.  I respect your right not to vote, but please respect mine.

IMO, Obama or Romney is the same sh*t. Both are from the dying elites of the industrial age. Change is coming.

500 years Roman empire

500 years "Dark Ages"

500 years Middle Age

500 years Industrialism

The future is to those who understand what it means to grow locally, to live locally, that you don't need to be a slave and you can be happy been a healthier man who live off the land and express what you were meant to be : a craftsman honoring Nature and God's mysteries.

Nuff said.

V for Vendetta

The Gunpowder Plot of 1605, in earlier centuries often called the Gunpowder Treason Plot or the Jesuit Treason, was a failed assassination attempt against King James I of England and VI of Scotland by a group of provincial English Catholics led by Robert Catesby.

The plan was to blow up the House of Lords during the State Opening of England’s Parliament on 5 November 1605, as the prelude to a popular revolt in the Midlands during which James’s nine-year-old daughter, Princess Elizabeth, was to be installed as the Catholic head of state. Catesby may have embarked on the scheme after hopes of securing greater religious tolerance under King James had faded, leaving many English Catholics disappointed. His fellow plotters were John Wright, Thomas Wintour, Thomas Percy, Guy Fawkes, Robert Keyes, Thomas Bates, Robert Wintour, Christopher Wright, John Grant, Sir Ambrose Rookwood, Sir Everard Digby and Francis Tresham. Fawkes, who had 10 years of military experience fighting in the Spanish Netherlands in suppression of the Dutch Revolt, was given charge of the explosives.

The plot was revealed to the authorities in an anonymous letter sent to William Parker, 4th Baron Monteagle, on 26 October 1605. During a search of the House of Lords at about midnight on 4 November 1605, Fawkes was discovered guarding 36 barrels of gunpowder—enough to reduce the House of Lords to rubble—and arrested. Most of the conspirators fled from London as they learnt of the plot’s discovery, trying to enlist support along the way. Several made a stand against the pursuing Sheriff of Worcester and his men at Holbeche House; in the ensuing battle Catesby was one of those shot and killed. At their trial on 27 January 1606, eight of the survivors, including Fawkes, were convicted and sentenced to be hanged, drawn and quartered.

For those following the

For those following the election (either because you want to or because the media is forcing you to!), Obama has it in the bag. Ohio was all that mattered, and with 40% of voters having already voted, Romney is down by 23% points there.

Broken record. Stuck CD.

Call it whatever you want but the OI story today is startling.

On Friday, with gold down over $40, the total open interest only declined by 1400 contracts. Yes, the Dec12 declined by 7,200 but the Feb13 increased by 5,200! Of course we won't know until Friday just whom was selling, covering or buying but, still...

And silver is unbelievable! With silver down $1.39 on the day, the total open interest only declined by....are you ready for this?....26 contracts! The Dec12 declined by nearly 1800 contracts but that was almost entirely offset by OI additions in the Mar13, the May13 and the July13.

I'm telling ya...The big money is setting up for a major move to the UPside later this year and in 2013. The only ones driving the market lower on Friday were the dumb money algos, chasing downward momentum. For every contract an algo sold, there was an eager buyer on the other side.

Please hang in there. You will be rewarded.
